Hi Buffy,

If Zenimax had waited just a bit longer, or if they made noises the moment that John C. started working with Oculus part time, folks might take them seriously.  As it is, they seem like ambulance-chasers trying to suck some gelt off of FB/Oculus.  If I were them I'd reflect for a moment on the ability of FB to "lawyer-up" and beat them into the ground with paperwork.

Plus we have John C. claiming that Zenimax has no valid claims.  Considering his decades of industry presence I have a feeling that a jury would give his comments extra weight.

McGee's China comment - Sure, whatever.  Regardless of this "huge installed base" he alludes to if MS gets the Chinese government's seal of approval they'll make sales.

It'll be interesting to see if any of the lingering Chinese/Japanese tensions impact PS4 sales at all.  I have no idea how any of this will pan out but will be watching with interest to see how this all unfolds.

Meanwhile, how about McGee getting back to making a new Alice game?

Hmm... less games (especially exclusives and consoles exclusive) are being released for X360 and PS3, and number of XBOs and PS4 in wild is still very low. That probably influences games sale balance. I'd expect it happened on previous consoles generation changes.

PC does not really have generations, it is more like constant evolution... so game sales should be more stable.

Seems like the xbone and ps4 version will be the inferior one to pc... Again!  :-( Why buy a high tech console if they are outdated before they are released.

Could anyone explain why gamestop isn't reporting on net neutrality? I don't know if this will effect the gaming industry but i couldn't imagine otherwise. The USA is supposed to be the freest country in the world LOL. Your internet rights are being stripped as we speak soon you will have the same access of china only getting the info the government wants you to read. The USA has become a dictatorship and i don't see anyway the gaming industry will not be effected. This should be world wide news for weeks. Especially if its on a gaming site!!!

Why is Sony losing money? Two reasons: Samsung TVs and LG TVs. Eventually those companies will lose money to various China companies. Such is East Asia economics.

As for Xboxone in China, I live in Korea. The penetration by xbox 360 is minimal. I imagine China will be the same. It's such a huge market, however, they they may sell stuff in the coastal rich cities - which is a shame b/c Microsoft is a thoroughly evil company.

new cod with story line for PMC will probably be similar to that of HAWX 2. the pilots are PMC owned and are told to strike US forces entering waters that border the country that bought the PMC. u disobey orders and fight back etc.

i'm sure in the story line, you will face a similar scenario, probably where the teaser of SF bridge being a telltale sign of that PMC strike.

I will admit, i'm still interested in the plot anyway since it does not involve a government military. as for the MP well, i'm not holding my breathe.

BTW, good episode

Wow, some nobody's opinion on Microsoft selling in China makes the news, but Sony losing $1.3 billion and cutting earnings for a third time this qtr doesn't. Some great journalism, Gamespot!

Hi Jess!

CoD.... Ok. Worth an article but not so interesting. Same propaganda as BF4 but fails miserably later on. Hopefullt not on this one. And since it goes waaaaaaay back to its original, wich is the World War I & II themes, it is promising. Looking forward for it, but not that excited. Let's just wait & see.

XBONE to fail in China is absolutely ridiculous. I don't think so. Even though the main PS4 factory is in China, XBONE will penetrate there because of competition.

Nice news day, Jess! Buffy is grateful that you are her new shirt endorser =DDDDD

i dont see why xbone would fail in china, there's already a real demand for consoles and its been against the law to own them. And why wouldn't your average joe break the law in china just to play video games, its known for been a fair society.. whats the worst that could happen

I never thought any news coming out of Call of Duty would excite me. When I heard yesterday that it would be set in WWI, I was like "Yay! Fresh and timely given the 100th anniversary!" Now, I'm back to caring as little as humanly possible. Thanks for raising my hopes, rumor mill! :P

The Xbox One will not do good in China since its government has a lot of censorship

I'm certain the new COD reveal will be a juicy cinematic trailer that will give us no real look at game play and will make all the COD fanboys drool while the haters will hate.

A company doing a money grab now that Rift actually has some money huh, big surprise there.

And I do like the CoD private contractor concept, I just get the feeling they'll make it like every other CoD game.

@pabvr81 SONY's 1.3billion loss has absolutely nothing to do with their gaming division.

@Pawfalcon I guess this case might have some merit since we have actual people moving from one company to the other and apparently some kinds of correspondence and discussions that took place.  Often such cases are just that one company creates something that is similar to what the other has patented, and there is no direct evidence of having "stolen" it.  It remains to be seen if any such evidence exists for this one.

@spenta So I guess the real question is if they wished upon a star. And other such nonsense since thats apparently what we're doing.

@nbf4548 @pabvr81  Yes, as a matter of fact, even a trained monkey with a computer at hand would do better.
