Gran Turismo 6 Expands Beyond Gaming
Polyphony Digital shows off their GPS visualizer, the third GT project to get virtual drivers onto real racing tracks.
This is why one simply doesn't compare GT to Forza. This is sim, forza is arcade.
In other news, I (and 99% of gamers) will never get to use this feature
With all of the criticism from their last game, I'm sure they'll address the complaints next time around.
So about 20 people will use this feature. I really hope that's not the only thing different with GT6. I really hope they work on the AI so races are more exciting against computer opponents.
While this is an interesting feature, it doesn't fix the fact that GT5 was riddled with incomplete gameplay features that should be 100x more important then trinkets like this. I hope they fixed those issues prior to adding this. In other words, I could careless about this kind of thing without highly improved gameplay.
From what I've seen of GT6 it really didn't look a whole lot different then GT5. One of my biggest complaints about GT is that the graphics are bland, it's almost like they are afraid of colour. I understand that it makes for a more "realistic" looking game but it just isn't pleasing to look at in my opinion. Hopefully they learn from GT5 and GT6 turns out great but i still prefer Forza.
@Draninus Agree. This feature will be used by probably 0.01% of gamers out there, yet they spent development time and resources on it....but they didn't do a single thing about the sound. Every single car sounds like a little dust buster vacuum cleaner, and apparently that's perfectly okay with PD.
@Scream_AimxFire Forza passed up the GT franchise a long time ago. PD is way too Japanese-centric and they almost refuse to even acknowledge there are such things as other driving games out there. They develop their games in a vacuum, and it shows given how out of touch they are.
Have you tried calibrating your TV?
@GAJY_FILTH they've already said the sound will be the exact same as in GT5...so every car will still sound like a vacuum cleaner or a sound effect from Atari's Pole Position. What a joke.
@Stitch-Jones @GAJY_FILTH wow I haven't played GT since A-Spec. It's disappointing to hear that the sounds are not very good. You think they would spend money on actually getting the correct sounds for every vehicle.. I mean...it's not that HARD! there's prolly lie stock flac's of each car featured in that game online somewhere. This is a shame. Although that GPS thing is something my hardcore racing fan dad would use.
