Was a big fan of the Grand Turismo Games but when i tried the demo of this game i was not happy with the gameplay but graphics where deffinetly there...maybee thats why they held this game for so long...trying to perfect the game in every which way... still thinking about buying this game still it seems to offer a lot of different racing modes plus i cant wait to see what cars or in store for this game...dont have a racing game for ps3 but was allways impressed with grand turismo might add this game to my collection
SONY: IT ONLY DOES DELAYS NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS LIES CHANGE THE RELEASE DATE OF THE RELEASE DATE OF THE RELEASE DATE OF THE RELEASE DATE. EVERYTHING! (Except release a game on the specified date.) BOYCOTT SONY AND POLYPHONY DIGITAL AND KAZ! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME WHEN IT COMES OUT. TEACH THEM ALL A LESSON. YOU MUST NOT. YOU CAN NOT. YOU WILL NOT TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS! In a REAL company... if this sort of thing happened.. SOMEONE gets fired.
iIve already preordered my collector's edition of gt5 at my local game store. pity kazunori yamauchi changed the release date. i've been a fan of gran turismo all my life since i first played gran turismo 1 on ps1.
The gran turismo series looks great, it always has, theres no denying that. However I still think Forza has an all round better racing experience. To this point in time the customization has been better, deeper, and the physics have been top notch. Now believe me, I'm a massive racing game fan, have all the previous GT's and Forza's, love em all to bits, so Im really hoping that GT5 will be unbelievable, but to this point, having yet been able to actually try the latest and greatest build of the game, im sticking to my guns and saying Forza is a better overall experience. Until I play GT5 I won't say otherwise. Graphics are amazing, yes, but they don't make the whole game. Honestly from watching this video the sound effects have me slightly worried, this is one thing GT falls behind forza in comparison in a big way... Hopefully they prove me wrong!
You do know they actually recorded the sounds from the actual cars and then based them off of that right? Their goal has been to get it as most realistic as possible and the sound effects are definatly no exception.
@-Deimos- Yeah okay how about you throw yourself off a dock. If you think those cars sounded identical, you must be either an idiot, or deaf. Or both.
@Macflavio You're kidding right? Even Forza 4 doesn't look as beautiful as GT5. You really must be a FAILBox fanboy to think this game is anything less than incredible. Peace :)
Wow, graphics are amazing. Downloading video and showing it off. And when online it means it's dangerous to be in first...
wow some idiots really compared the beauty of this game to the bubble gum wrapper that is forza 3 forza 2 better
That is incredible! Graphics almost like Forza 3! Too bad that the sound of the cars still needs some progress...
to all ps3 haters, if u dont like it just because you cant buy it, such a PITY ¡¡¡¡¡ maybe you cant buy it cause you need to buy the "new" 360, still does not have blu ray, but it "new" c´mon this game looks great ¡¡¡¡ dont be a fan boy, the 2 consoles have good games...............
It looks good. However damage modeling = more hit and run online, not less. I like these games but unless you're willing to play expert and get your butt kicked for reasons you won't know you'll have to play the easy and intermediate races and get rammed off the track online...
@chromballz I'm sure it was one of those "original" tracks with the nighttime one hard to say though That track was also clearly inspired from Hong Kong / Japanese streets though.
@BallisstiXXX Yep, that's true, unique game indeed. But don't expect too much of the "damage" models, the cars manufacturers doesn't alow too much damage on their cars. It's just a long dated compromise forced to game studios... it's a contract stuff. Looks like GT5 is going to make history tho, looking forward to the damage models, but not too much...
I hope Microsoft can do good and make FM4 almost exactly like this... I would buy this game myself but the PS3 has so few games (even though the games it has are great) and the Xbox 360s have hundreds of games, I think the game looks awesome but unfortunately I wont be able to get it...
I can't really say that damage is new, I mean it's just expected of them. Though I do think that it will be different in some way compared to other racing games. Gran Turismo is not known for borrowing from other games, they tend to do things their own way.
This is looking like it will shape the decade for racing games, just like Gran Turismo 3 did in 2001.
this looks amazing, I never seen a game look like that.. Way to go polyphony digital. you have made a masterpiece.
Not to ruin this out of being a total dork, but between spitting out doppler effect, cancelling harmonics and echo from backgrounds, this is far from the end-all on sound effects. I'm far more impressed by the holiday tree lighting and illuminated car marker on the LMP '7' car @ :27 and am dying to know what track that is.
Wow can people stop posting hate on this page and say that it will suck. Polyphony Digital wouldn't spend $60 million on a game that was gonna blow. So please, STFU!
I'm hoping the AI will be better than in GT4, it got tiring racing cars that had no personality, all they did were drive the exact racing line :/
Agree with the the sound comments... unless they have a higher sample rate for surroundsound systems... Sometimes when I play Forza 3 I get lost of the roar of some of those engines, it's a harmonious experiance at times...
The engines do sound better than in Prologue, but they're still a long way off from being like GTR2 or Forza 3. And compared to a real racing sim like GTR2 or GTR:E, the physics aren't that great either.
What's with all the GT hate comments? if you can't say anything nice, don't troll at all! Personally I'm looking at this and really believing the sound. LIFELIKE I SAY!
I bought a PS3 4 years ago for this game, after listening to the sound in it its beginning to feel like it will be GT4 looking much much better but still sounding completely wrong. And im a PS3 person, never owned an xbox, but i have owned 6 playstations through the years, but Forza sounds a hell of alot better than this, what a shame
Seriously...5 years and this is what we get? As a long time GT fan I could only hope the sound FX quality in this trailer does not make it into production. 5 generations of GT and ALL the muscle cars STILL sound like vacuum cleaners and they will probably use the same damn tire sound bite from GT1. I could understand the technical limits on the PS and PS2 but the "Mighty PS3"? Don't get me wrong I love the look of GT and all of it's features, it's just when you label your self as the "the real DRIVING simulator" how in the hell can you not include ACCURATE sounds of each car? Maybe if you cut 300 of the +1000 P.O.S. useless cars that nobody cares about, you might just have enough memory left on that blue ray disc for better sound FX. Let's not forget there have been 3 generations of Forza Motorsport in between GT4 & GT5 (GT P doesn't count=$40 DEMO). All though Forza is by no means perfect, as of right now I think it is the most accurate console DRIVING sim yet, the "Performance Index" is broken and has always been a joke. And yes, I do own a Vette and work around muscle cars every day.
