Gotta Strip 'Em All! - Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed - Gameplay
Vampires have invaded the neighborhood. Their only weakness is direct sunlight, which leaves us no option but to strip them to their skivvies. Seriously.
Localizing this nonsense and still the new Yakuza games (Yakuza 5 and Ishin) stay in the east... go figure...
Very much like an anime version of the fight sequences from the YAKUZA series. YAKUZA is beyond brilliant, but that's because of the power moves and the story. Not sure AKIBA'S TRIP has either; it seems like an interesting distraction for a casual game, but not a great game. Wow, just bringing up YAKUZA makes me want to play them again!
That combat looked extremely tedious. Was that 200+ hits to take down a single opponent? While I'm probably just enough of a perv to enjoy such a game (lol), those fights looked like they'd drive me crazy.
Those are some entertainingly silly ideas, but the execution leaves much to be desired.
Just look at GiantBomb's Quick Look for this game - the stripping mechanism involves a lot of typical timed button presses or outright mashing.
Then there is the talking - lots of boring, boring talking.
The concept is novel, but that gameplay looks absolutely atrocious, makes me wonder why Japan even makes games some times.
Who ever is demoing this gameplay needs to work on improving their skills. It's like they don't even know that you can readjust your clothing in battle to fully repair their durability by holding the L-shoulder. Shameful. ;)
There's an American version of this but you mostly just walk around in a football player uniform and kiss dudes
Wait... this is coming to the US? Seriously?
I'm not exactly complaining, but it seems like there are so many crazy Japanese games that would be a better fit for the US market than this one.
this is just funny and maybe bad enough to be good lol. but i think i will pass. that's something that a porn addict would have play not for me though. have fun with this people.
Wow, what an eccentric game.
Graphics look like a blend of a number of Dreamcast titles (no, I don't mean this as a criticism - just very "Sega, 2001"). Stripping people to death... wow.
I'm actually having a lot of fun with this game, I thought it was going to be kinda meh. It's got some good humor to it and the combat sytstem is solid.
@mosheste Ever considered maybe that's because this is different while Yakuza 5 is a dime-a-dozen brawler with four prequels that are exactly the same?
@mosheste And the saddest part is that if Yakuza 5 was also released here, this piece of crap would still sell more....hence why it got localized.
Its the same problem in Jrpgs, the classier ones don't get localized in favor of the vacuous NIS America cutesy anime ones. "Kim Kardashian" syndrome.
@Gelugon_baat As the GB crew said, this game is a little too "up its own ass"
@RabidBurp According to amazon.com (USA) it's coming this November to the PS4.
@j1965 That menu stat did remind of Persona
@RabbiSchmuley What? Some kind of joke that I am not getting I guess :).
@gokuss4z Dark souls thou.....
@focuspuller people always say Americans have a disproportionate tolerance to violence over sex. your worried about the stripping, but not over the fact that young people are beating each other (to get them to strip, of course)?
Not that I'm defending the game in any way.
@focuspuller Yeah, genetically altered humans trying to murder you is absolutely fine, but stripping off their clothes to expose them to direct sunlight is completely wrong. Its just a light hearted and fun game, try and not take it seriously.
Yeah I can't believe this is coming to the US either just wait if some kids mom sees him playing this it will be Armageddon.........
@focuspuller You're reading into it too deeply if you think it's sending a morally unjustified message about it being acceptable to tear the clothes off young people.
@hoyholyhoy @focuspuller @Draken_Domingo Better that than the person at the party that everyone molests.
Clearly we go to different type of parties.
