GDC 2009: OnLive interview with Steve Perlman
Here's an interview with the founder and CEO of OnLive, Steve Perlman, on the GDC 2009 show floor.
Yeah, OnLive looks great and all. But I see a few things wrong. For starters the only people who will be buying OnLive this console generation are people who have yet to of bought a PS3, or 360. Though I can see someone with a Wii buying one. For instance someone who's bought a 360, has a reason to buy a PS3, for its exclusives. I seriously doubt OnLive will have any exclusives. Leaving it kind of pointless. and if you buy OnLive, and OnLive only, you are voiding yourself from exclusives, no Halo, Gears of War, inFAMOUS, or God of War for you.
This is so cool! I wonder how much it will cost and how exactly it will work. However, won't this stop people from buying consoles like the 360 and PS3?
i haven`t yet seen anything that ps3 and xbox360 dont have.only thing is u must buy games from internet and if u dont have grdit card u cant buy anything so : ( !!!!
The only thing your powering are your internet connection and microconsole/tv/computer to receive the video from their server, and since everything from graphics, processing, etc is handles by their servers, you dont consume alot of power. They do on their end tho :) Large Electric Bill INC to ONLIVE!
Interesting. Onlive's Microconsole and server uses significantly less resources together than a game console.
