GC 2008: Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir Official Trailer
Trailer taken from Leipzig GC 2008 for Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir.
I hate that so many RPGS are in AD&D type fantasy worlds! No Wonder games like Fallout 3 and Mass Effect (not an RPG in my book, by the way) are bought in droves! To use Mass Effect and Jade Empire from Bioware as examples, as soon as publishers move away from fantasy AD&D they also move away from deep RPG'ing! We need more Sci-Fi, and other genres of RPG games! What's wrong with a cowboy game where you are a State Marshall, and the side quests are catching train robbers, etc? Or what about a thriller where you are a private detective taking on sophisticated cases? These are just examples of how RPG's and gaming in general would really be going 'mainstream'! After all, in books, TV and movies you get comedies and romances, etc, not just blockbuster thrillers, for example! All other entertainment industries recognise the public want different things. When are games publishers going to realise this too? Until they do, I can't see how they can compare themselves to the movie industry, like they always do!
oh man.. I can see that they havent really fixed the loading speed ... I HATE the loading on neverwinter nights 2. It was a bit better on mask of the betrayer, but even there you had to load quit often (and long loading times didnt help with the experience.)
And Obsidian keeps on making expansions just one step beyond amateur modder quality. But yeah, I'll play it.
Nothing special about this vid, the game itself should be worth it though!!!Having played all the previous games in the NWN universe I like the concept of being able to utilise my companions abilities in conversation let alone the fact that I get to actually pick them myself!!!The companion building concept creates an almost infinite range of scenarios and should make the gaming experience different every single time I decide to play it over again!!!Can't wait!!!!!
Looks like Obsidian really rushed to get to Leipzig with this trailer, if one could really use the word. A few in-game moments, most visible spell effects are nothing new, but I agree with the guys before me, this expansion should kick ass! It's gonna be awesome just to be able to create your own companions :) - although they feel more like "minions" this way, but what the heck...
All it shows is sword fight not a good way of introducing a new expansion but anyway its gonna be a great expansion.
After seeing this trailer im positive about 2 things. First this trailer sucks and second this game will rock...
