GameSpot's Buyer's Guide - Wii U
Is Wii U the console for you? Chris Watters takes a look at this underdog to see how it stacks up to the competition.

I agree. COnsidering that some of the greatest killer apps are coming next year (and, being Nintendo and all, there will be bundles) I would suggest waiting.
Unless, of course, one can not wait to play 3d World, which is not a bad choice. Hell, it is problably a better reason to buy a console than any next-gen launch title so far.
So if Nintendo games are you thing, go get a Wii U guilty free, otherwise, hold your breath a little longer.
i don't pay my Nintendo much attention anymore, but owning them throughout my childhood, and teen hood i def. recommend this to anyone. If u never played on a console i would recommend this before Xbox or PlayStation. I still remember the fun i have with mine and now my daughter has it she completely loves it. I know when i buy a Nintendo product its going to be good, and full of memories, i still remember me as a child playing my Gameboy colour under my blankets on a winter day, i think it was survivor kids, it was lime green, with purple buttons and black trim. The game was silver with gold logo on it, that was when i was 7 years old, i still remember it 15years later . . . . . . . . .
I would rather play Mario 3D & Bayonetta 2 than anything on the XB1 or even my own PS4. Next year is gonna be interesting to see if Nintendo can bring it back with some big guns like Smash, Kart & Zelda...
Expect Nintendo to focus on handhelds only next gen. Though in my honest opinion, Nintendo going software only isn't necessarily a bad thing. Hell, they could do something similar to what Apogee did with Rise of the Triad and sell an exceptional fan-made product
I have ps vita,ps3,and now ps4.Just nintendo its a cult, its most.Nintendo 8 bit, castlevania its the best game ever for my.(sorry for my english)
Of course is great for anybody. I think is the only console that really makes you play with anyone. I play Super Mario 3D world with my nephews and we have a blast.
The one time I tried the wii u was at a walmart and I played nba 2k13. I might look to grab this down the road.
I mean the quality of games by the way, the wii was lacking in the big name titles which ended the excitement of the system early for me.
If you are looking for the "next gen experience" you probably will not get it with this console as it is not nearly up to par with the ps4 and xbox one consoles although it is a better system than the ps3 and 360.
If you have a ps4 or x-bone, your whole paragraph was a lie because it has way more and better games than both those2 systems
Really? because the wii u has more and better games than both the ps4 and x-bone, im glad I have a wii u
Picked it up last year. Not a bad system. The kids love it. We never owned the original Wii so we had a sizable library of games to purchase for it since it's backward compatible. They also have a nice selection of Wii U games, this holiday season alone we picked up Lego Marvels, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Batman Arkham Origins and Sonic The Lost World. Most of them purchased on Black Friday so we got great deals. We'll soon be picking up Super Mario 3D World. I have no regrets in buying it. Plus, I still have a PS3 to fall back on. I will purchase a PS4 at a later date when they have more games for it. I have no interest in the XB1 with it's all seeing eye. But that's just me. To each their own.
Wii U is fine. They make wonderful exclusives that're fun and for everyone. Smash, super mario world, zelda, mario cart etc etc. All the console needs is more 3rd party support. I think it's a console everyone needs to remind them what being a gamer is all about rather than halo/KZ online with bipolar 12 years screaming through the headset and racist clowns.
If you like Nintendo's games, yes. If you don't like Nintendo's games, no... Why is this even worth an article?
It'll have Mario 3d world, Zelda, Smash Bros, X, Bayonetta 2, SMT X FE, Sonic Lost World, new sonic game, Mario kart, Pikmin 3, W101, etc. None of which can be played on Xbox One/PS4. BTW, Watch Dogs IS coming to Wii U.
Currently the Wii U is the best buy at the moment, the Wii U has many great games to play such as you mentioned Lego City, Pikmin, New Super Mario Bros and 3D World. If you are a first time Wii U owner and you buy all these games at the start they will more than likely hold you over till DK in February and Mario Kart in possibly March. The games are there for you to play so it is again the most logical buy at the moment.
I'm not buying one until a lot more games have been released for it. It's probably worth it for me to get one now since I never owned a Wii and it plays Wii games but I'd mostly want it for the next gen experience so I'm gonna wait. Maybe in a year or so there will be a decent enough haull of games for it.
OMG BRO...LIKE REELLY BRAH.. LIKe WhO W00d WANT a WIi U LIke Seriosese>?>?// When I can Play Da besTITS game ev3eR CaL 0F Dooty On My xB0X 1 ????? Like ya Brah... Totally,, DUH
If that console came out 3-4 yrs ago I think it could have been a different story...but again developers seem to avoid it or Nintendo are not giving them a chance
I recently just got rid of mine, I'm usually quite tolerant when waiting for games, but within a year... there was nothing of interest to me other than Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Monster, Hunter 3 Ultimate and LEGO City... pretty redundant tbh, I'm disappointed Nintendo -.-
They should of waited because now they are behind the next gen consoles. Not that the graphics matter but the catalog of games for the system will be similar to the wii system. Won't stop me from getting it though.
If only there were some way to buy multiple platforms, so you could play Watch_Dogs, The Division AND Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, etc :)
Ps4/xBone aren't very Nextgen either. Fairly low end devices.... We can see this in the games. Sub 1080p and another 30fps ghetto is the future of these two systems.
But I'll take the "not up to par" machine anyway of the week because frame rate is far more important than marginally better visual fidelity and most of Ninty's first party output is 60fps.
The only real Nextgen console is going to be steambox.
