OMG, I think playing this game really will make something loose in PPL. Finally something different again. For sure my wife don't want to see this part.
@bengino Yes , the controls are awkward, but did you hear Kevin and the guys at Quantic Dream? It's a storytelling experience, not a gameplay experience
I gave the demo a try earlier today and I actually liked it. The controls weren't too bad (fairly easy to get used to in my opinion). The story also seems quite interesting. I guess I'll be getting this one when it comes out =)
just played the demo and im pretty impressed, i thought the days where we got games that WANT to be "different" were long gone. It does have a early Resident evil feel to the movement controls, but i think thats fine, if thats how they feel we should play it, im all for giving it a bash.
Played the demo and was blown away. Other than being a little awkward, it exceeded my expectations. I think I enjoyed the detective/crime scene part more, gathering all the evidence using the super-glasses.
I have played the demo and liked the fight between Lauren and the other guy it's awesome if you play it on the hard difficulty.
@ahpuck it just seems weird that the clown, the father, the mother, and both kids have different accents. It just doesn't make sense. I honestly think that this has to be one of the most innovative games in a long time all I was saying is that there are issues with continuity and that there is no way this game can remain interesting if the voice acting is spotty and every character has an unexplained accent
This game is easily one of those games that isn't for everyone. Controls are not "bad" because it is different then a typical adventure/mystery game. I'm one of those that can't wait for this game, but I do worry about the replay value with some of the things I've heard lately. No need to hate on the game because it's different then a typical game though.
God this is going to be horrible...just like Indigo Prophecy. Sure the story will probably be good but why not just make it a movie?! This game will have extremely bad gameplay i think just like IP
I really liked the fight scene in the game, that was awesome, graphics and voice acting too but the controls... not so much, still looking forward to it
i ´play the demo twice, and the control is really bad you have to walk alway pressing the R2 like the old resident evil games in the ps1, graphics are average, remindme the act3 in mgs4 and this is not a video game, is movie all u have to do is press the buttons in the rigth moment in the rigth time like the figth sequence in uncharted and i was looking to play the demo in hard mode but suprise!! it was already in hard mode and it was easy. anyway i dot like this kind of games so thank god 4 de demo im saving $60!!.
I played the demo for this and got to say that while the story and the feel of the game are great... it is a complete failiure as the controls, who are absolutely atrocious. I think that would be a reason to not purchase the game.
hum, i think jason didn't die, but then his mother will see how irresponsible her husband is (actually it's all jason's fault, what a stupid kid xD) and will get divorced. then jason will die,but I don't know how =)
the characters eyes kinda freak me out, it still has that Shenmue feel to some degree and that makes me uneasy... and thrice has a point, Jason is a moron and quite annoying
I can deal with only one "actual" ending, but even in the demo there are times where your snap decisions or conversation choices trigger different results. The dialogue is certainly on the "meh" end of the spectrum, but for something with this many possible dialogue trees and sheer script size (amount of voice recorded), one can only go so far. This would be like asking any Hollywood movie studio to produce a movie with several versions of each shot and viewers to watch by randomly picking 1 of each. It wouldn't sound right. Sounds like a great idea, but lines do need to be left more bland and generic if the road to and from that point is always slightly different.
my god. jason has my vote for THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY. ...and if anyone has any more information on the replayability factor of this game, please share- about the only thing keeping me from buying this the second its out is the fact that it seems like a game i'd play through one time and then feel no need to experience again (kind of like a movie where all of the main characters die, eg. The Perfect Storm). although some reviews, like Game Informer's have pegged this game as having a 'moderately high' replayability- a term usually used for games with strong multiplayer components.
Been checking reviews online...they all say the same things. That no matter the desicions you make, or actions you take, eventually you will come to a common ending/truth. So, then the only variables are who lives/dies along the way? Just asking for the replay factor, a big reason I'm discouraged from buying the game right now. Seems like something that's an amazing experience the first time, try a few things differently a second time....then....trade in at the local gamestop. Not saying it isn't worth $60 to play through, just tight on cash right now and would like to know what I'm getting myself into. If anyone can help please let me know, thank you!
Lol sorry I couldn't complete watching the video, don't wanna spoil anything for myself. Good luck with playing the game and I hope we read your review soon.
cant wait for this game i preorded the LE yesterday cantwait 2 play it i played the demo and it was awesome!!!
@ Lingleface So in your idea of a good grown up... it's more important to look for your wallet to pay for a balloon to a mall clown than to make sure your 7 year old son doesn't wonder off in a crowded mall... gotcha... Anyways, I'm not saying a game based on serial killer is a bad idea. What I was saying is that if a part of your game is a Quick Time Action event to look for your wallet.. it's probably better left to a cutscene or movie.
Great Video. I've been waiting for this game to come out since I first heard about it. The voice acting wasn't horrible, but it sounded like it needed a little better direction and flow. Aside from that, the graphics are amazing! If it's going to be anything like Indigo Prophecy, it will be more of an acquired taste. But I think this game will reach more of a mass appeal than it's predecessor. Can't wait for it release!
My only worry is they show too much of the game, that when you play it there isn't any excitement. With that being said the development team is pretty thoughtful in their entire intent and approach so I will look forward to playing this game at the end of the day, and thinking to myself. Man that was awesome.
this was very annoying to watch why was navigating through a crowd a big ordeal you have to hit like a 20 button combo to push someone aside also it looks like its going to have crap controls
Hopefully Jason learned something from this experience. When you cross the street without looking both ways, well, you die.
Don't know if I can wait til next Friday for this, then again I've been waiting since Fahrenheit, damn it I just want this now!
Good looking game, demo played great. I think it's innovative and engaging. Going to give this game a try.
This is probably going to get a lot of thumbs down, but am I the only one who thinks this only looks ok? Like one of those games that sounds awesome on paper but then the execution doesn't live up to it.. The gameplay itself--and specifically the gameplay because other things like presentation are top-notch--just doesn't seem all that great. It's like "ok I can look in my pockets or look at a blouse in the window." But really, who cares? Shenmue did all that years ago, maybe better. Not saying this game will suck but I'll need to see more than this video.
