I want all the new content in one place like it used to be on the front page on the old gamespot. If I go to news I can only see the latest articles but not videos. As of now for example the "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Sea Shanty!" is not in the news section.
I don't have the time to click on news check out the articles there and then click on the videos tab and filter all that stuff to see if there are any new videos.I visit the website 3 times a day usually and I can't afford to spend all that time doing unnecessary clicks.I just want to get in and out fast.
Thanks for making it harder for me to get my latest content and news guys ! Newswire only shows the news but not latest videos and stuff like that while "KEEP GOING GAMESPOT, KEEP GOING..." is poorly updated. The beyond:two souls spoilercast for example was already out but it only appeared in the "KEEP GOING GAMESPOT, KEEP GOING..." section after 2 days.If Tom McShead hadn't tweeted it I probably would've missed it.Besides the video player I don't like much about the new website.
Also, if you happen to dislike that big-ass animated object at the top of articles for high-profile games, you may want to know that it is actually a stretched MP4 (not an animated GIF) and you can block it.
Block the following source address to make it go away:
By the way, I don't use the homepage. Personally, I find it easier to just bookmark and surf webpages according to content type - just like I did with the old dinosaur that is the previous site.
I would mention here that there will always be people unable to take change. ;)
With that said, I am a bit disappointed that GameSpot won't buck the trend of new things being afflicted with technical issues here and there. I find this tiresomely predictable.
I can't stand this new site. The old site was a lot easier to navigate. I still haven't found things I used to check every day. This site is not user friendly at all.
The new feed system is not good at all. I don't care about all the little things that the people I'm following on here do. All I care about are blogs. The old site was better, because it had a blogs only feed, so I could see when they posted blogs, and they could see when I posted them. The new site KILLED my blog, because no one was reading it, and it's not worth writing when no one reads it. I also haven't been able to keep track of when any of my friends post a blog, because it quickly disappears in the feed fills with all the little nonsense that people do on this site. Blogs were the main way we stayed in touch on the old site. So, either bring the old blog feed system back, or at least, have a way to filter feeds, so I can filter everything out besides blogs. In the mean time, I'm working on a new website, with a new blog, and I'll be encouraging my friends to do the same.
A few questions about the new site (sorry if this is not the right place:
- Where can I now find the related games (in the same universe)? (Ex: The latest Profesor Layton game review mentions previous games, but where to find them?)
- It takes a lot of scrfolling to see a game's genre / summary. I would really like to see the game's "profile form" further up. Is this feasible?
- I did not see where I can see when a video review was posted (on the same screen where I can watch it - not in full screen, obviously ;)
Thanks for your help!
Why is the homepage filled with WWE news instead of Assassin's Creed and Battlefield like it should be right now? Why can I no longer comment on anything on the website or view any the the comments on my blog posts? Why do you troll me so much Gamespot =(
For god sake put a buffer loading bar in video player and make it work on slow connections. The last one works so great that i could open any video or article within 2-5 minutes but now it takes 20 min or so just to watch one 6 min video..
I suppose it's still hip to drop in and say "nobody cares". :/
Also, you still ended up bringing your Internet traffic here. Bravo.
