That was painful to watch after having beat the campaign. Multi seems a bit boring since you have to sit and wait, but I cannot knock it until I try it.
i see the physics engine is quite ridiculous, in apocalypse now if you took refuge in a building and its walls collapse the ceiling would come down on top of your head and most likely kill you.
i see the mausoleum has only a third of its walls and its structural integrity is not yet compromised, yay for architecture >_>
Also bullshit, Kevin was dead after loosing his ciberdisk, it was Justin's fault he won since Justin just stood there without ghosting and repositioning while the heavy just took out his entire guard's cover. In Xcom you never really feel safe in cover with all the heavy ordinance, you need to put some distance aside from cover to feel really safe.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching that. good length, classic, close call matches. do more of this. thanx Gamespot
It wasnt a perfectly played game by any measure, mostly because I think they both forgot through the entire match that Snipers have a secondary weapon. Which means, even if you HAVE to move them, you can still overwatch with the pistol or shoot so long as you dont dash. (if i am not mistaken that is, neither tried it all game).
Moreover, I feel they both used the Stealth armor incorrectly. They kept using it defensively when there were numerous opportunities to use it offensively. Prime example, when they both had units on the bus. Not the part where they were standing next to one another inside (lol), before that when I think Kevin missed a shot with a Sniper. Kevin took a shot, which means that units turn is over. No ghosting, no nothin. Perfect opportunity for Justin to Ghost, move up and flank, then shoot.
All in all though, a well played match. Its easy to critique when you watch both sides' moves. Still, I would have been more aggressive early, more defensive late as opposed to the way they played which was the exact opposite. Different strokes and all that jazz.
After watching this video you have made it a clear purchase for me so thanks guys. I was never sure how it would play on consoles with it being a top down strategy game but nice to see its handling well, think i read somewhere that the console UI was developed by its own team to make sure it was good to controllers.

tomorrow is the day i am waiting for at least 15 years, can you believe this ? so long for a game remake, i do know those "After-XYZ" games, but this one should be the "official" one.....
Sucks you can't play solo as aliens against humans. But that would be some epic-level kickass DLC if they added an alien campaign. Like having to destroy countries by raising their panic levels with your victories. Where your losses lower their panic level. Would be cool as hell.

After the first match, i was having the same idea of a Ghost-Armor team too. By the looks of the later match, i guess the idea wasn't so effective in practice.
Other then the slow start to the 2nd match well done . Try using your scout units instead of overwatching for the first 20 minutes, or just equip a run and gun unit w/ lightening reflexes and counter overwatch all together.
just thought of something, are the soldiers stuck with a fixed status of sorts or do they starts as rookies and get stronger and more skillful as they survive multiplayer matches?
They were standing right next to each other both of them ghosted. I really want to know what would happen if one tried to move into the same spot as the other. Would it just not let you? Is there a way to exploit that to find out where your opponent is?
While it's not the most entertaining game to 'watch'. I thought it was pretty interesting to see how you reviewers think whilst playing this sort of game. Been looking forward to XCOM for a while now and it's looking great.
I'm sorry,but GOOD GOD, this is painfull to watch. There is so many tactic mistakes,that even a bad chess player like me notice....Things like:
-If you choose a cyberdisc(flying unit), why in the world u would stick in on the ground?
-The guy with pure human team, you go "over watch" on the sniper before other frontline unit even moved? ^^I would like to how much tactic games has these two guys played before this game.
Man I would endure any amount of paperwork or any boss if my work day looked like this (I mean Kevin and Justin, not the alien warfare).
This is making me really excited for this game!! I personally never experienced the earlier xcom games, only experienced my friends raving about them after the fact. I'm not going to miss this one though.
What was justin thinking throwing his men out in half cover and not using grenades against the super heavy dude. If he had used grenades he could have won.

@valent1n lol i was w8ing too ... but i decided not to by this title to not ruin my great gameplay remembers with a crpyy game, that is only a dumbed hit-x-to-win version of the original great game.
i wont waste money on this crap release.. i think you will have a huge disappointment after 2 missions.

@WCK619 Someone posted somewhere that if you mouse over spot (or control over spot) it will not show up as a square you are able to move to. So you would then be able to guess your opponent is there. Although a lot of simple elements - overall the combination of everything makes for very good gameplay!

@jamenta8 Okay, This game looks really interesting. I do like to know if there be more aliens in this game though. would be more fun to fight humans against aliens. In my opinion
@hardeep49 @GamerOuTLaWz Im just so excited to see a tabletop gamestyle turn based strategy to play against friends. Why hasn't anyone done this? This could be a stand alone game type with multiple players using squads. With tons of depth like this. This could the start of a new age of multiplayer tactical squad games. The whole of XCOM i love too of course but this is really something new.
@valent1n i'll take a look to that, from what i see the noew xcom have nothing the olkedr had.
4 stats each unit, no time units (just 2 movement actions each unit/round or 1 dash ) No in combat inventory handling .. no base management as we where used to ...
Everything in this chapter is only an hyper dumber version... no appeal at all.
