i just had a bonner. This game just moved up my list to number 1. 2 is battlefield 3. I still get goosebumps when i remmber playing ace combat 5. The Demons of Razgriz.
Randolph and Dan - excuse me if this has been said below. I can't believe you guys are sitting there asking each other about chopper missions. YES YOU CAN FLY CHOPPERS! Dear god, if you are going to preview a game at least do some research like...oh, I don't know...watching trailers from the game perhaps? I could have sat there for both of you, playing the game and giving viewers more information about it in 5 minutes than you guys could in over 20.
Darrt_Feld- Seems you went crying to the moderator to get my accurate observation removed. What do you do for the USAF? My guess is serve food at the mess hall. Stop acting like you're a fighter pilot...
game looks awesome, been playing the ace combat series since it was on playstation one (Air Combat) , can't wait!
Seeing as how neither of us have any way of proving anything your statment is moot. My point still stands, these guys suck at this game.
@Darrt_Feld, so you're the guy resposible for me being able to play games, as a Britsh person living in Australia? Cheers for that mate! I do enjoy the odd game. Seriously though mate, I hope you enjoy this when it's released.
I have to say the fact that they played on normal controls not advanced makes me sad. Having the plane turn rather than controlling yaw makes the game much less fun to me.
@freek33, i may just be playing games, but thats because i am currently serving on active duty in the USAF so people like you can play these games. i am going to be getting this game on day 1, i was just saying how if they really want to showcase this games awesome gameplay then they should have someone play that game that actually knows how to utilize it.
@Darrt_Feld hahahahaha!!! like it!! you think they would be wouldn't you seeing as its their job!!! still you get a look at the upcoming software, and i agree it looks good and exciting.
@Darrt_Feld & Edawg4455, they may not be sh*t hot at playing this game but I bet they have other numerous skills that allow them to get jobs at GS and this means they get payed for playing games while you just play games. Anyway relax with you first world problems. I thought the game looked surprisingly good!
Why cant people who are actually somewhat competent at the game be the ones to showcase a gameplay demo? This guy was just terrible......
Lack of REAL control. Too much cut scene gameplay for me. If this is basic landing and takeoffs (for idiots), I will be giving this a BIG miss. I see all the 'IDIOTS' gave me thumbs down. Enjoy your game...simpletons.
Well that was a waste of nearly half an hour. Watching two guys who don't seem to know much NOT playing a game but watching videos and playing mostly tutorials. Still think Namco have cocked up royal trying to appeal to the Modern Warfare crowd. Got two mates who worship CoD and they both played the Assault Horizon demo and said it was crap.
@Dragonsingh3000 Yes you can. I do it all the time in the demo. I even use it with my Ace Edge flight stick set. Which is stupidly EPIC. \m/ \m/ What you do is go into the controls options for aircraft and change the control type from "Optimum" (the default setting) to "Original". :)
is there a sim control option, can i rotate the plane 360' instead of just turning the play 90' left and right nothing was on the demo and the playstation mag said there is but i have yet to see or hear anything that you can or cant.
@Constatonks: A wingman isn't a guy in the plane with you. It's another pilot who backs you up and whom you back up. Guts is a another F-22 pilot in another F-22. They're called wingmen For example, to continue with the Top Gun references, Maverick's wingman wasn't Goose. It would be someone like Iceman. To quote the United States Airforce: "The traditional military definition of a “Wingman” refers to the pattern in which fighter jets fly. There is always a lead aircraft and another which flies off the right wing of and behind the lead. This second pilot is called the “Wingman” because he or she primarily protects the lead by “watching his back.” So no fail, but also probably not a Top Gun reference. Also, the wingman's call name IS Guts (it's in the demo)
@ zameen Not a fail, actually. The F-22 IS a single seat aircraft but the wing man you think is named "Guts" isn't there. They're making a Top Gun reference (it's a movie) where Tom Cruise's wing man is a guy named "Goose". How did you hear "Guts" from "Goose"?
i really dont like the follow target arrow in the middle of the screen. but i want to play this game yesterday!!
Until they make an Ace Combat game where all the planes have propellers on them, my answer is the same: thanks, but no thanks.
This look really fun! Hey gamespot au, you should make this GameSpot AU Plays a regular thing! like how GameSpot US has Now Playing, have where the aussies preview play games before they come out in stores. l'd totally watch that!
