Gamescom 2011: COD: Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops Interview With Glen Schofield
GameSpot's Shaun McInnis gets briefed on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's spec ops survival mode by Glen Schofield, cofounder of Sledgehammer Games, at Gamescom 2011.
One of these two things need to happen: (1) CoD needs to be more realistic and have the destructible environment. One of the reasons CoD has taken so much of me and my friends money is simply because of local play.We spends hours together bragging about our sweet kills.(2)Battlefield needs local play.Me and my brother rented Bad company 2 and agreed on it having better gameplay, but because it had no local play,we could not compete against each other. So what is the point in buying it ? Yeah, I admit it,the things bf3 has and mw3 doesnt have will make bf3 the more enjoyable online experience, but as long as CoD has split-screen,they will have my friends money and my money as well.bf3 will have my brother's money.
Survival/Spec Ops looks fun. I like how they've added on some multiplayer things onto it. I'll probably be playing more Spec Ops online than the actual multiplayer, lol.
I have nothing against BF3 or COD to be really honest I think both are great games minus Black Ops. I just feel that unlike BF series in COD the action is very fast and arcade like but BF3 you have work for you kills. I think both games are going to be pretty good, but activision has made COD some what of a cash cow releasing map packs as if there is no tomorrow. I mean there are three Map packs for black ops already and another one on it ways and they charge $15 for it put it together and you spend $105 on the game. I don't know about everyone but being college students its a tough pill to swallow. Let us not forget that EA is no different with each year releasing a new Madden, new FIFA and the likes. I think in the end we all hate being taken advantage of by these companies who make sub standards things and make us buy them every year. Before people jump down my throat and say I am complaining and shouldn't buy things. How many of us feel left out once your friends have something and you don't?
DICE = great company EA = ruins as much as possible IW/Sledgehammer = great company Activision = ruins as much as possible I wish developers could just sell their games directly with out all of the crap from bigger companies.
ok, i dont get why all you bf3 fans are hating mw3(i play both series), you guys say "ahh mw3 looks like mw2, thts such a ripoff", no f***ing duh, it's a dam sequal, it's supposed to look like the game before it thts why it's called a damm sequal. I'm getting both games and there two totally different games. If mw3 is going to have the multiplayer be like mw2, im ok with tht, cuz mw2 had amazing multiplayer, the only thing tht ticked me off was boosting and nucke... and kinda quickscoping cuz the was so unrealistic.....but yah like ths comment if ur going to get both games or if u agree with me......dislike if ur a dumb bf3 fan who watches mw3 videos and the dissis on the gamm(really get a life people)well if you read all of this i just kept you entertained for over a minute........nice huh........well peace out............
I agree. This guy looks stupid. When they asked him about the crazy new enemies he's like "there's dogs, helicopter, juggernauts...guys with c4 .....dogs with c4.....juggernauts with c4.......helicopter with c4.......Did I mention c4?"
Did this guy actually work on the game? It seemed like throughout the whole interview he just repeated what Shaun McInnis asked him, and spent the rest of the time stuttering as if he forgot how to speak.
awwww man i cant wait for this game to bomb worse than the Doom movie. gonna be the worst disappointment in over-hyped game history. =)
@vbgbn Im not gonna to say MW3 it is the greatest game or BF3. Mostly because I have not played them yet, but if I had to choose the best game that is being released this fall it wouldn't be either one. Elder Scrolls V :D
EW MW3, YAY BF3 Everybody who says MW3 is the greatest game is in denial because they have never played any other game. P.S YAY SKYRIM :p
i mean lets be real, most people dont play games for the campaigns anymore. I mean its kinda sad that people work on it for all that time and then gamers just ignore. I always play campaigns, but the real draw is the mp and spec ops
I guess it looks ok, Spec Ops looks fun, but campaign looks terrible. Let's just see what the multiplayer is like.
Ok so they basically made the Nazi zombies back to humans and gave them guns...big deal. Although this game will be a lot of fun like previous COD games it will be exactly the same, I mean come on it's been 4 years since COD 4 and you could at least improve the graphics a little bit. I'm sorry but I just think the COD series is over and its time for Battlefield 3.
@ryzrocks amen to that. that's the beauty of having two franchises dueling for superiority of the same genre. Both houses up their game. and thus aim to deliver one hell of a product. I've enjoyed tracking the competition between Activision and Dice, especially in the run-up to the release of these next two monsters. owning both games will open an vast platform of SO many game-types / modes / play-lists for FPS lovers. I'm loving the co-op content for both games.
question... when he talks about co-op mode... he mentions split screen... will this be only for console version, or will it be available on pc aswell (pc can handle it!... i'm sure if they limited it to controllers and 1 keyboard and mouse, they could make it work)
Tbh I am COD fan for a long time. But this year Battlefield 3 seems to be the king of shooters. If you haven't seen the Battlefield 3 multiplayer trailer watch it now it will blow you away!
im a fan of COD series, but they need to innovate on grafic engine, im a PC gamer and i go for Battlefield 3 first. then MF3, sorry but PC gamers needs new things, like the witcher 2, battlefield 3 and no games for low-cheap consoles.
