I loved Borderlands! It was convenient that at the time of purchase i had a stomach operation the following day, required a week off work. Played a lot! So excited for number 2. Just to get it on PC or PS3...??
lol every one thinks the rim is a tire.the last game was epic so that means this one would top it. but down fall for the last one was the fact that you want to rush thru the mission and get it over with i hear on this one they made it where you dont have to sit thru the cut.should make it more quick but at the same time keeping you playing
I managed to finish this game with only 1 of my friend as the other 2 had had enough. The ending...oh man the possibilities and Gearbox chose a Half-Life boss. *Facepalm* This is all that I have the patience to type out, rest assured there are more problems with this game than care to list. As an FPS it brought no innovation and as a RPG it was too generic to mention anything special about. Hopefully Borderlands 2 is something entirely different....
Another gripe of mine are the enemies we encounter. Are they all clones or something? I realize this is unfair as countless games have same looking enemies but I'll encounter a normal and dwarf human at one side of the map only to encounter them again at another place far away. The variations were just some clothing changes. Same goes for the only two wild animals we get to see. The loot gameplay is highly praised all around. I have no complains here as I found this a innovative feature from the beginning it was announced. This was the only feature that I liked about this game. My friends and I would constantly be running around trying to kill enemies quickly and searching dungpiles just for our own survival. The amount of name calling that would ensue just from this made it fun for a while. The variations of guns were sometimes worthwhile or frustrating but that brought something new to the game. If this feature were implemented in a better game, well I can only guess. Finally, I have to talk about Claptraps those pieces of S***. In no WAY were they funny. From the retarded "Ahah!" at the Nvidia intro to the fart and other lousy antics at the menu. Those twin brother robots in Transformers 2 and Jar Jar Binks are in the same boat as them. They were neither cute nor adorable but an embarrassment designed to mock our intelligence. It is a failed attempt to bring some humor to an already boring game.
Borderland was an epic failure. It is an example of what a game should not be like. The only thing it had going for it was its artistic style and random gun spawning system but those aren't enough. The co-op made it bearable but only just. The only story driven cutscene was the intro and that cheap angel eyes at the top corner of the screen. The pacing was ridiculously non-existent. Get an objective and do it when you want to. You don't feel connected to the story to progress through it because there isn't a story. Not a good one at least. The side objectives were similarly flawed. It didn't feel like they were a part of the story, something you had to do to prove you are a Siren or Hunter. That level of connection felt to the main character by the player could have made this game memorable. But 4 characters whose only dialogues were repeated casual lines after taking down generic enemies were the best Gearbox could give us. Hell, Modern Warfare's mute Soap is epic as hell compared to this.
Perhaps dual wielding weapons is an active ability, like Berserk or Roland's turret from the first game, not something that you can do all the time. That would be one way to balance it.
@darktruth007 How were you playing the game to make it a 'grindfest'? Badly I'd assume. There must be some drawback to duel wielding. I mean imagine running the game with twin pestilant defilers or Hellfires. Also read about disposable guns, so hoping thats only some really high powered things. Hoping for some more Cage the Elephant music as well. Really getting me hyped for this game, and its still got a long time to go...
i never understood the hype about the first one... i played it like 5h waiting to get excited for but it never happened, too easy and nothing ground-breaking... the visual style is artisticly interesting but not for me either... getting my hopes up for rage!
yup now im replaying the first one with my frend and it keeps us laughing all the time =) nice mix of fps and rpg
awesome game , can´t wait hope have more expasions but is still a great game 2k should use this engine in all games they create
this was the last game i lost a month of my life to. i was really addicted, of course i played it so much i was bored by the second play through. but the gun finding and loot was awesome. i allowed someone and my self to dupe some moded weapons and shields and alas that was the end of the good times. i was bored and yet unable to part w the duped goodies. i will refrain from such silliness this next time and extend the replay value. space rabies muddle your thinking and when your thinking is muddled "your not gonna have a good time" lol!
Hope they'll polish it for PC as well, so we don't get a half-product console port again. Especially no TP stations in DLCs because consoles don't support it - i don't care, PC DOES support it so do it or don't make it for PC!
and to all the haters on the first game , they obviously played it alone or simply had a bad co-op experience , try playing it with someone you know and then you will change your mind , i am personally playing it in split-screen with my sister and i am having a blast.
I thought Borderlands was a miserable game. It was made well, but it just didn't do anything at all for me. Story didnt draw me in, gameplay was really easy and boring, leveling had no real fun aspects to it. Not going to buy this one no matter how much they advertise it.
I hope the end game is a bit more epic this time...the first game was awesome but they built up the vault to be this amazingly awesome place with the best loot and after beating it I was like "Really?? Thats it?"
Now THAT'S a cool teaser trailer! :D ...and @cellbuster is right! The advertising functionality of a teaser is just to tease the audience, not give any detail. They told us Borderlands 2 is coming and that's it. Now we should make our guesses, talk more about the game and wait for a final trailer. ps. so much cool they used a brazilian berimbau on the soundtrack!
@darktruth007 Its a teaser trailer. Nobody expected you to buy it after watching 30 seconds of an idea.
Uh you're going to have to come up with a much better reason for me to buy this game than that shoddy trailer. If this game is nothing more than the empty grind-fest the original was I'll gladly pass on this.
A little more variety and a few less glitches and this game will be one of the best ever...just like the first one was. Seriously though, more skagg-riding midgets, please.
I dont like watching a 15 second advertisement for a 30 second trailer. But excited about the game!!
Short but I'm just happy to know for sure that there will be a Borderlands 2 and already next year :)
YES! going to be more than just desert! Don't get me wrong, I liked the badlands, just needed more scenery. I'll see you Online guys!
