Games You Should Play on Steam Early Access, Day Four: Survival of the Craziest
DayZ, 7 Days to Die, and Rust bring out the survivor in all of us as Chris Watters hosts Day 4 of our weeklong feature.
These survival type games are just complete trash. Nearly everyone who plays simply goes out to fuck over every other player they come across. I get enough of that from society at large, I won't volunteer myself for a digital ass raping as well.
If YOU LOVE Flatout series get the Next Car Game from Bugbear, its cool, early access game, get it support the dev
I was tempted to buy Rust but I know that the bugs will annoy the crap out of me. Watching the crap animations and clipping straight through objects, really don't think Early Access is for me.
7 days to die, looks like the only decent survival game, but all i've seen is just from GS.. which didn't show anything but its likeness to Minecraft.
Rust, don't care, its doesn't seem to have anything unique or better then other games.
DayZ, just isn't gonna to be anything but PvP ganking, griefing. Really, best way to play is with a group of trusted friends, and just go all over the map and kill for the sake of killing, because there isn't anything left to do.
DayZ gots some fame and its going to the heads of the Devs, "Grand social experiment, that could very well portray a zombie apocalypse". Well, this is a joke as DayZ is vastly just some ganking PvP game. The zombie thing.. they're kind of crappy, and it does have you sneaking around to find stuff.. but that doesn't last long... and then there isn't anything left to do but kill people or help them and possibly get killed.
DayZ just can't get the zombies working right and never will get the zombie apocalypse right.
DayZ is just over hyped, and probably the majority hasn't really gotten past early game play.
Nether does a better job by far at making players fear the NPC's, but im not sure how well the game is actually doing.
So if your considering DayZ, please just make sure to watch a few gameplay videos, GS did some .... but they were done by newbies, try to find a little more experience gameplay.
heard about rust first time on a youtube tek show, have it on my possible buys, people talking about these less marketed games helps build up possible sales keep doing it
"What makes Rust so entertaining is that you never know [if another player is going to be a griefer or troll]"
Yeah, no thanks. I know some people love playing with other people online. Me, I'm just not one of them.
DayZ is a lot of fun and frustration rolled into one package. It's very satisfying when you're fully geared up with guns, ammo, food and medical supplies, but very frustrating once someone comes a long and kills you or you die by falling off a building or by glitch. Those other two games look very interesting too though.
@Vexov Me and a friend have sunk hours into 7 Days to Die. It's genuinely really good. We've got a complex system of defenses and routines for gathering essentials and mine shafts. I would recommend it. I felt that the GS coverage was a bit thin. A key gaming element is the day-night cycle. Zombies are docile and slow during the day, when you collect resources and build defenses. But when it hits 20:00 you need to be in doors and hoping defense hold because the zombies go crazy and start ripping everything down to get at you. Its a great survival concept.
@vadagar1considering the mod is still in beta even after this long and the new one has the SAME bugs the mod has, your gunna be waiting a stupidly long time
@bassjunkee but it is. You're paying not just for the game now, but for the final game.
"If I buy the game now, will I have to buy it again when it releases?
No. If you buy the game in Early Access/Alpha stage, you'll get the full game when the game releases. They are the same thing."
