lol @evaqua,did you open the mouth of oddone? i don`t support what you said..............lol visit me on www.alumni.unn.edu.ng
Great episode! Also if you want more content, there are 8 teams in ssn 3! Just think of the possibilities!
LOVE THE SHOW!!
I'm actually really disappointed in Dyrus, and especially in TheOddOne on how they slacked so bad just before biggest and most important game of their careers. I hope they can bring back that magic, and success they had at the beginning to the final months of 2012.
This was really enjoyable! If they don't push the drama too much - and focuses on the fun - this is going to be something to look foward to!
Of course there is drama in the TSM house, who doesn't remember the time with The Rain Man, but staged drama is so miserable.
Really interesting. I like that they are having fun AND being honest about gamers life (especially dyrus). Will keep watching.
Who was that girl chaox had his arm around in the restaurant? About 5:23 they had a short clip of it. I thought chaox was the only one without a girl :O
Im glad that you guys are really commited now, i been a fan long enough and i know you guys have potential, i know you guys can make it to the top. Make us proud and keep being awesome. TSM!!!!
Overall, great episode. I enjoyed it quite a bit. I've been watching tsm stream for a very long time now and I'm a big fan. I like how the team owned up to their shortcomings in recent games.. if they chose to do that more in the future, it would show that they are mature and strong willed.
I'll definitely keep on watching as long as it's entertaining throughout! :) As what was said by some others.. as long as this doesn't turn into a drama tv show sort of thing, but instead stays a professional gaming house, then I'll gladly support the show. I'd like to see how tsm lives and goes about practicing.
I'm glad my son took responsibility for his mistake, but there was no leadership in 2012 and a lot of fans learned this by not only the season 2 finals but how they continued to play from then on. Each of them are responsible for the failure. With that being said, Regi seems to be finally taking more of a leadership role and has begun organizing the team. Now, this year, Dyrus has not only showed up in matches but pretty much he and Oddone have out performed their Team members. I hope that they understand that they still have alot of fans and we all wish the best for them in season 3. Let me just point out that no NA TEAM was prepared for the Korean attack PERIOD.... and the stat that was leaked was not much of a leak. So why wasn't it mentioned as to what was exactly leaked to cause the great fall? Most of us fans out there know that it was a just a fact that any Korean or EU team was more prepared than any NA team....and that one simple strat leak could not have been the only or main reason for losing. Since then, Blaze has 2-0'd TSM in IPL 5 .....but they did give them a fight which gives me hope. BUT that was then and this is a new beginning.....I like the positive direction that Regi is leading the towards....C-ya @ IPL6!!!! ~Dadyrus OUT
They need to ditch the voiceover guy who sounds like he is doing an episode of Manswers. Nobody likes the loud morning zoo voice being shouted at them. Everything else seemed good enough.
So not as bad as I was expecting considering the terrible rep, for me personally, 'Reality TV' has.
Few thoughts though
1. The show was short, but I can understand you needed to test the waters. The segments were ok largely and wrapped together poorly but did had their strengths. I'll list for easier reading.
Player Reactions- IE how well the players came off/ Were used in the episode.
Regi's showed that his public persona is coming along nicely. As a Team lead that's always nice to see. Oddone leading the tour was good choice- he's got a great sense of humor and tends to be well liked by TSM fans. Dyrus was interesting in his usual way. Chaox seemed not there this episode or wasnt memorable- I say this not 10 mins after watching this- ya might wanna fix that. Xpecial was his usual serious very nod worthy in a 'Good lad' respect self.
Segements as I recall them after the fact:
While for some most of the Season Two Worlds info was already known- this spin was interesting with the Accuser/Admittance segment wit Regi/Dyrus. Another strong point for it was blending it with actual tourney video. Made for a good opener. Xpecial did a fine job there as well conveying Team morale for those that didn't comment/weren't memorable. The house tour as I mentioned was good only due to Odd's talent for making stuff that has very little right to be funny into something chuckle worthy. Dan's appearances were amusing/well timed too and his presence in the house has good possibility for later material. The only other memorable segment was the Snapdragon uniform/ad segemnt. Informative fir those who didnt know- Yeah sure. But even fort he relatively short time that segment was on- all I could think was. 'Dress them in Mechanical dragon suits and have them dance to some 'youtube fad'. Would sell better'
Off the top of my head suggestions:
-Denote Segments/Transitions clearly.
Ever watch 'Frasier'? Even that show had times where it would black screen and name a certain segment to organize things for the viewer. Woulda helped a lot this episode.
-Keep blending players talk about team morale/ performance with Actual League footage
I felt more impact from the blend at least. May vary with others.
- Keep episode length meaningful
Don't try to put too much of one type of thing in an episode unless its amazing. Odd's a great comic for some- Dont overuse it in one episode. Team drama/performance stuff for some is interesting. Don't overuse it in one episode. Team house updates/things they do besides game can be interesting.Don't overuse it in one episode. Etc Etc.Don't overuse it in one episode.
-Players lives are well known but not fully exploited. Use with care
I've learned a lot watching streams over the years. Like the fact Wings is Condescending and a great guy overall with teaching his style of play. From Phantomlord I've learned... well I cant mention most of his life tips. But he does say insightful stuff every now and again. Good guy. I can say the same about other league streamers too.
I've learned a lot about TSM players too- because I've been watching all thier streams pending on Mood since the Rain man was Top. I know off the top of my head to much to type cause dang those fellas are amusing at times. Ya pick up stuff by osmosis just even listening to their streams. The players are people like any others and have lives. SOme will find that stuff interesting. Many wont in the esports community as a whole. Just be careful with how much time you dedicate to purely player based life background on a solo basis. Drop information in small doses across the season if your planning to.
Overall not the worst start ever. Not the best start ever. Somewhere in neutral territory. Good luck and hope my feedback helps a bit. Remember to folks that disagree- this is all *my personal opinion/thoughts* on it.
Being a huge fan of TSM, I couldn't help but feel sympathy for Reginald, Chaox, and Xspecial considering they worked very hard to get where they were in Season 2 in the Championship and Dyrus and OddOne kinda screwed them over for not being prepared and spending time with their "girlfriends". I even teared up for the Xspecial, Chaox, and Reginald there for a minute. Anyways, I really hope they come back and take back the #1 spot again in the NA scene!
@Synthia 20 Minutes plus i think would be a lot better. And the music drowns the guys out a lot of the time. A lot of this ep was ruined by the long trailer but i'm sure as more happens with them in terms of LCS etc the episodes will get more and better content
I'm a great fan of tsm.
That being said, this episode is really boring. there was no content at all...
The house tour was chaotic: i still cant picture how the house looks like or how the rooms are divided. (maybe a map or something?) where was the war room? will other teams appear in serie as they scrim?
The players: all members of TSM are well know. but i would like some background, motivation or anything more personal.
Reach the top: TSM fell off a little at end of season 2 like they said. how do they plan to take back the top? what are the lacking? how do they try to make up?
With the content of this ep, it is hard to get exited for the next ep.
I hope this serie will be more the a well cut vlog.
@moc5 Regi and Dan own the Solomid Title. They make bank off all the shit they run. They're set to live comfortably for life.
@moc5 Yet another reason they are evil. Don't ever, ever trust one.
@lategamecarry thats leena, regi's gf.
@Justathought89 too long didnt read
This was a 12 minute pilot episode of a series most of us never expected from a gaming outlet not popular for it's "reality TV". I thought it was great.
I can help you enjoy this more. It's a series, there will be more episodes with hopefully whatever you describe as "content". I don't think anyone had the idea this was a feature length biography. I'm sure as the season progresses you will get to know these guys more personally. I mean I just found out TWO of these guys had girlfriends and that TheOddOne slept on a blanketed lawnchair like a boss and justifying his appropriate name.
In the 12 minutes you get their names, their team concerns, their living quarters and a look at their new sponsor. Sure they aren't professional sales reps but the bills get paid somehow. I'm definitely a little envious of their gaming house, you know we all had the same dream one time or another, "dude someday I'm going to have one big azz living room with like 10 super computers and all my friends are going to live there and game it up months at a time." I still chase that dream but this is high risk/reward for these guys. Competetive gaming isn't well known for it's financial stability for anyone who isn't winning those huge tournaments. I'm actually excited to see what happens.
If I want to watch them play, I'll watch their streams. This was different. I liked it haha.
@seasonedgamer i just dont see where they want to go with this serie.
hopefully nxt ep will clear my doubts :)
