First of all, I created an account just to comment on this. Secondly, I really like the idea of the show. Ever since I became interested in e-sports 2 years ago, I have found it hard to keep up with more than one or two games at most. I like that I will be able to get all the major news in one quick easy to digest video once per week. This episode was rough around the edges, but I suspect that was mostly due to this being a pilot. My only complaint is that the interview at the end felt long compared to the coverage you gave other games (and this coming from a LoL fan), but that might just be because that is all anyone is talking about right now. All in all, great job and I look forward to adding this to my weekly watch schedule.

@DarkTarconis Pretty much exactly how I felt too. Great method of delivering interesting esport news, with a few edges to smooth out. The main studio looks like it could use some basic production touches. Maybe borrow a big screen TV from a friend to use to talk to "Slasher" and "Gootecks" with? Also while I love league of legends, and was very interested in the interview in at the end, it definitely needed to be edited. Reginald repeated himself A LOT, which became very tiresome during his long responses. Kudo's to Travis for sitting though that, but we shouldn't have needed to.

@heysupersteve @DarkTarconis Yeah excellent point about the studio, I didn't notice at first, but it looks very drab and, now that you pointed it out, is slightly distracting lol. However I hope that at least part of that was due to them not wanting to invest to much into a show without knowing what the reception would be like. After reading other people's comments, it seems I'm not the only one interested in a high quality multi e-sport news show.

The interview was too long and slasher's quality was too low, everything else was pretty good :)

Interesting premise. It's nice to have a series dedicated to e-sports news.

This game far more interesting than I thought. So does Age of Wushu. The stunning scenes with special effects are vert eye-catching. Huge world map is also interesting.

I listened to you TSM. I watched the interview and lo and behold, I still hate Regi. IamExistence covered it perfectly. Same reasons why I hate HotShot

I think what frustrates me so much with regi is he sits there talking about professionalism the whole time and how hard it is to make a business decision because he has personal feelings involved when if he were just the owner the choice would have been easy and to cut chaox.

This is why you can't be a player AND an owner, because you are going to have to make those hard decisions and you CAN'T have those personal feelings involved. Regi talking about chaox exploding on him, do you think that was done as player to player or player to boss? I'm not trying to justify chaox saying what he said, and in fact as a business owner if an employee said that to me I would fire him on the spot, but at the same time regi needs to realize that by simply being the owner AND a player that alone opens the door for tension to come rolling in because the relationship will get too convoluted and this is what happens.

If he were just the owner then he could have easily stepped up and said "look you're fucking up and if you don't stop this then there will be consequences plain and simple" just as any other boss would do in any other job.

Having an obvious boss/employee relationship is vital to any organization to succeed otherwise the employees do feel like they can act out. This is why you see head coaches of football teams (just as an example) not interact with players until after pre-season is over because they know they're going to have to cut some of the guys that don't make it. You NEED to establish "I am your boss, you are my employee" not "I am your teammate, friend, roommate, and boss".

Regi needs to seriously decide to pick one or the other because so long as he is doing both I don't see this tension going away even with chaox release. It almost feels as if it is dyrus and oddone vs xpecial and regi now with wildturtle potentially caught in the middle. Hows that for professionalism?

And as for xpecial, yes i have to say it lol you're a little bitch dude. Stop cowering when someone confronts you because you're scared and grow up. It isn't hard to have a reasonable conversation with someone if you do it with civility and most people (at least in my experiences) will respect you more for being straight up with them rather than hiding behind someone or something else. Thats just flat out highschool shit right there.

@IamExistence eyyyyy I saw your post on reddit! I agree with you that Regi is putting him and his teammates in a difficult situation as being both a player and owner. To me it's kind of like when a friend becomes your boss at work, you guys are still friends but there will always be that tension in the relationship as a result. Maybe hiring a team coach might help solve this problem since it will provide a third person perspective on the team's dynamic and play style.

@Kennheiser @IamExistence haha ya i figured id post it here too in hopes maybe it wouldn't get burried, but that's exactly my point.

Something else I feel is holding E-sports back is that they have no PR people to help them set up statements for things. To go back to my football example, there IS a very obvious reason coaches or any public figure dodge questions at times. Throwing all the details out there and causing more drama on an already tense situation only makes things worse.

I mean you wouldn't see a Quarterback saying "Ya we got rid of our WR because he called my wife fat and we got into an argument in the locker room so we decided to release him from the team".

You would instead see something like "There was a dispute with the team and as a team we felt this was the best direction, next question" and that would be the end of it.

I agree with interviews to get more information, but the players need to have statements prepared rather than just winging it which is basically pouring gas on an already out of control fire aka Reddit lol

@Kennheiser @IamExistence its definitely a fine balance because some of the interviews in starcraft with players specifically are pretty stale imo haha and I agree with you on the charm because it is raw it is real(more so than other public events at least). I just hope that E-sports gets taken seriously to become as big as other organizations because I love it and I don't want it misconstrued as "oh it is just some kids playing video games and talking trash" because of poorly prepared interviews, letting feelings override the demeanor needed in such situations.

Many thanks for the interviews to Gamespot though btw it is indeed very appreciated.

@IamExistence @Kennheiser I mean they could have certainly been more professional about the whole interview but in my opinion, these types of interviews have their own merits. It makes them seem more human and not just reciting what someone has told them to say. And I think that's a certain charm that comes with E-sports. Although truthfully, I only follow LoL so maybe players in other more established games such as Starcraft conduct interviews in a more professional manner. Also I am somewhat biased against the format of the show just because I feel that it is trying TOO hard to be professional.

@Kennheiser @IamExistence Prepared statements are made to help calm the storms while things are still up in the air to prevent further escalation and prevent statements that can't be taken back, like for instance what xpecial did.

I personally feel his statements were very unprofessional all while his boss is sitting right next to him. Maybe it is because E-sports is still growing, but it isn't like we have to establish all new ground rules for what to do in negative PR situations. We have already established what to do in those situations for years, but perhaps there isn't a big enough organization yet for those rules to be implemented or the staff isn't there. I don't claim to know the reasons, but feel it is definitely something that should be looked at.

To me, interviews should come after things have calmed down a bit and that is when genuine statements should be made about what happened (or at least whatever the public is allowed to know haha) and both sides of the story told. To go off regi's statement, if you want to be professional you have to act professional.

Do you feel they were professional with this interview? I'm asking for opinion, don't take it as hostility haha I'm just openly curious to hear others thoughts.

Edit: Them meaning xpecial and regi, I feel the interviewer was very professional haha

@IamExistence @Kennheiser I would think that that would be the manager's job (forgot what their manager's name is), and I think TSM does do a bit of "training" to help teammates get camera training as for when they're doing interviews. However, I kind of don't like the idea that they have prepared statements just cause it makes it feel less "genuine". I mean Chaox on his Facebook said that it's hard not having a PR guy handle business talks, so I'm assuming that TSM does have a PR team mainly in their manager.

Big fan of Travis and I follow his weekly show but to me it felt like he was kinda stiff, like he did not know how to position his body and such. The overall background of the studio...for some reason I got a vibe of a low quality news report. I feel like it would've been better to just have a couple of couches and have these guys talking to each other face to face and interacting with one another similar to like how interviews are done in the NA LCS.

@Kennheiser I didn't mind the setting, because there is not much you can do when TSM is at GDC for Qualcomm. It probably would have helped if there were at least chairs for them to sit so there would be less fidgeting (i.e. shifting from foot to foot for Travis) as it made him appear bored, for me.

@TwistieTie @Kennheiser For the setting I was talking about the studio Travis was presenting in, unless the show itself was hosted at GDC then I take back my statement. I don't know why but it felt like the background was fake 0_0 almost like it was a green screen.

@Xero_Persona @Rawzlekk123 nah, it was brat. Don't get me wrong, I like Xpecial. But it was clear that Xpecial was in an extreme defensive posture during that last conversation between Chaox and Xpecial. I thought that was really fucked up, considering the situation and the way Chaox was trying to be real and give his last good-byes.

@Rawzlekk123 @Xero_Persona OMG I could not agree more. I thought maybe Xpecial was just distant and awkward, but now that he's like "ya, we weren't that close" is really messed up. Watch your back Wildturtle, that's all I'll say.

@Tronickz @Xero_Persona @Rawzlekk123 The whole ordeal is just seeping with disrespect.

Its a real shame, because I remember watching vlogs from a few years ago, and Reginald and Chaox and everyone acted like family. Time changes people, I guess :(.

@Xero_Persona @Rawzlekk123

could not agree more, I normally am an avid Xpecial stream watcher, I find he shines a lot of interesting information in regards to support play style and seems to enjoy doing so as well. However, after watching the episode earlier today and seeing his reaction and then later on watching this interview, my opinion on his personal character has greatly changed. Chaox was basically an hour or two away from being gone for good, and he couldn't tell him to his face what he thought about everything, yet has a hostile "Tell All" in an interview after Chaox is on the other side of the country lol, Very sheepish, childish and quite the scumbag move Xpecial. Very disappointing.

@Rawzlekk123 @Xero_Persona Yeah, and the whole "I never liked Chaox as a person." thing seemed a bit cruel. Xpecial is one of those passive-aggressive people that would never say stuff like that to someone's face. Pisses me off.
