First look at Space Marine Model, Assault Class, Devastator Class and Loadout Menu - Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade
Miguel Caron studio head of Behaviour Interactive shows off the Assault Class, Devastator Class, an exclusive first look at the real space marine model, and a preview of the loadout menu in Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade.
So its exactly the same as the Space Marine game that came out in 2011.
To be fair, Space Marine was a pretty good game. It was both a solid third person shooter and stayed true to the tabletop game, so being like that isn't bad. Its just that seeing footage of another game that's literally identical to a 3 year old game isn't really that exciting. Like it might as well just be a really late expansion pack.
Use this code when you get a founder package and get your 4000 points for epic gear and such: EC-JPYI6K2OSSKSM
I think you can hardly knock a developer for being so transparent, especially after the last couple of years of games like Dark Souls II and Watch Dogs failing to deliver at Launch and falling flat on our expectations, built up over time by the industry putting out CGI trailers and vertical slices that look nothing like the final product, I feel that this level of transparency is, however "damaging", is necessary if we as gamers are ever going to gain trust back in the industry that provides so much joy to so many. I for one respect and applaud Behaviour Interactive for their level of truth and wish them every success in the future, especially seeing as I am a massive fan of the lore of 40k. :)
I have seen mobile games that look better, shame but I suppose they still have time.
Would rather have seen a surprise sequel to Space Marine from 2011
Releasing the game in this state of undress is REALLY not doing these guys any favors. I mean - I get it, I REALLY do get when they're trying to do. They're trying to be very transparent and show their progress on every level throughout the construction of this game.....but, from a PR standpoint, it's just not working. We are getting sneak peeks of a game that looks like it belongs on my old Sinclair ZX81 Spectrum, comparatively.
They'd better start getting some high-res textures and animations and begin fleshing out the environments ASAP, or they will begin to lose customers.
Remember everyone- it's only $450 mere dollars to get that awesome Founder pack that gets you early access, AND the whole game.
Now, now, don't be selfish. They need your help to get this wildly popular franchise made. This game could never happen without you giving 10 times what it should cost. There just is no other possible reason for charging that much.....
Important ! Use this code if you decide to get a founders pack. This will give you 4000 extra points which already enables you to get a awesome looking epic armor. Have fun and enjoy the code, it can be used several times:
I'm not really seeing a huge difference between this and space marine except this seems to have more vehicles besides Dreadnaughts and 7 classes instead of three with a few more load out items.
Maybe the other races will make the game more unique?
been wanting a 40k deathmatch game like this with vehicles for years. cant believe its finally gona happen. drop pods for respawns be sweet
I am surprised they are showing actual gameplay at such an early stage, I am not complaining as it looks similar to W40k: Space Marine, and I really did enjoy that game. Hopefully this turns out really well.
@Bond_Villain this is pre alpha......
@drysprocket not "$450 mere dollars" !!
It's $40 for the base pack, so the $450 pack is more than 11x the amount it does cost.
@oflow The big difference between Space Marine and this is that this is a MMO. Not much else lol
@simonbarfod they clearly want to show that they've stuff running and want to attract people attentions as well as some financer's attention or have the people help funding the game, I say if they were to open something on their own to have people send funds on their own accord, I think that would help
@simonbarfod because this is actually the second time they've shown it off and it looks a lot better than it did then
@alexbartle It's not a deathmatch game. It's going to be a persisten world MMO, similar concept as Planetside 2
@koBe_zero 0014.M3, of the Pre-Alpha Era.
Now you might want to sit back there and think about what you just said.
start with the first dawn of war's..... then try dawn of war 2 then try space marine. all are cheap and will flesh out your knowledge of the games.
@cyloninside Like I just posted above......totally agree. They need to keep their traps shut until they have something respectable to show
@feleas @oflow "not much else lol"
Eldar and Orks, persistent world, Tyranid NPCs, massive battles ala Planetside 2
"not much else lol"
