State of Decay 2 is coming soon, giving all the zombie survival action you can feast on. We took a close look at the game's opening moments in crisp, beautiful 4K. At least, as beautiful as a zombie apocalypse can be. (Watch the video on YouTube for the full 4K presentation.)
Check out the video above for the first fifteen minutes of the game. In it, our heroes search a zombie-infested camp for supplies, employing some close-up combat as well as cautious stealth. An unwelcome bite leads to a cutscene explaining the "blood plague," but the small medical station at the camp has run out of supplies. Before they can even settle on a strategy, the camp is compromised and the small band of survivors has to set out elsewhere.
State of Decay 2 has some promising ideas, but at the moment it can feel rough in spots. It also packs some pretty significant changes from the first State of Decay, so fans of the original will have to adjust. As a first-party game it's part of the Xbox Game Pass, so if you’re paying that monthly subscription for all-you-can-eat Xbox games you’re already covered.
