For those saying this doesn't feel like a traditional Final Fantasy game, it's not supposed to. At most it should feel similar to FFXI, the other MMO in the series but this is just that... an MMO. The idea is to take the core FF experience, put you in the role of a single character and experience the world through his/her eyes. You're either someone that liked FFXI and is excited about this or you're not. Whether or not this is old hat FF is irrelevant. FFXI is/was very popular, at one point being the most popular MMO in Japan, and is currently the most profitable FF in the entire series. Obviously the idea of a FF MMO was well received and an attempt at one should probably be expected with just about every console generation. If you don't like it skip it and hold out for FFXV. I'm waiting on FFXV anyway in hopes of something far better than the FFXIII entries. I actually loved FFXI and feel hopeful about this revamped version (the first attempt was beyond terrible).
I am a huge fan of F.F. series, this one looks like the worst of all. Dont get me wrong, this doesnt seem bad or anything, but it just doesnt feel like F.F., i mean this trailer looks like its copying star wars the old republic (SWTOR). Looks like worth buying, but doesnt feel llike F.F.
Love the classic FF Look, but as long as I can actually quest on my own and not have to always rely on a group for every little thing I do, I might be willing to give it a try. Just hope it doesnt take an hour of strategic game play to kill rats.
If they are ever to release a single player FF game to PC, then its a first day purchase.
As long as it is a MMO I'll give it a pass, I would even make an exception for FF and buy it, If it had a always online DRM as long as it was single player.
FInaly Fantasy just does not work within the confines of the current MMO environment. FF is supposed to be about excellent graphics, music and story but a MMO will alwaysbe unable to provide a platform for the large story we expect in a FF game.
I also hate MMOs for making players artifically weaker than elites and bosses when they are usually equal or greater in a single player rpg.
Looks okay. Just one problem. Player base will drop off once PS4 comes out. Unless they got a plan to convert it over. PC side should not be effected though.
Too many cheap people always wan't MMO's for free, If You can't afford it oh well... get a better job LoL. I'm still playing FF11 and FF14... And yes I do have a full time time...FF14 is way better than FF11 ... So for you true MMO/Rpg's out there... Get this game and lets have fun... For the rest of you broke snes gamers... stick to your snes games and let the big boys play okay...
what a pathetic looking trailer...cut this bs out give us versus. final fantasy cannot be a decent mmorpg cuz mmo's sacrifice an immersive story for multiplayer. too bad it's just not possible!
The teamwork required to bring down tough mobs in FFIX was unparalleled in any other game. If they can replicate that in this game then I'm in for sure.
If Square really wanted to "right their wrongs"....then they would make this free to play with out a monthly subscription.
If not, then I don't see them being able to compete with games like Guild Wars.
I might repeat myself but still the ff7 for me has the best Power. It was fun gathering materia and put it in weapons. Then ff8 was also kind of good but from then on nothing good ever. Didnt see much about this one but for me personaly the online is kinda crap for this type of game. Might be only for me.Dontt know. How do you feel?BYE
@leonandov looks a bit underwhelming to me, but I can't say it doesn't feel like the last FF online at least, which I liked a lot and was successful.
@Vediclow lufia 2 one of best rpgs by the way
@Chozn275 The philosophy of playing solo or playing a group, depending on your preference, was prevalent in the original game so I can't see why it won't carry over. The entire main storyline quests were done solo.
@LOVERPS3 I'm not sure if you realized there is an O in MMO.
@CommodoreRaslin there are more ff games with average to below average graphics then the polished linear ff games you are referring to.
@CommodoreRaslin Ah yeah dude.. FF11... get your facts straight... Also I have never seen a boss equal to a player.. I have seen bosses kicking my ass multiple times.
@CommodoreRaslin In what single player rpg are you equal or greater than big baddies? Normally you have a party and find a nice pattern that the bosses do.
@CommodoreRaslin FFXI was an amazing game. So your point is moot.
@Vambran I was wondering that myself. I play on PC though.
@Vambran lol, what player base? Game's a flop!
Well the PS3 and PCs versions share the same world from what they say.
I still have hope in XIV and the XIII series though..
Do people have no sense of patience anymore?
What you want them to shell it out like they did XIII so people can complain about it or do you want them to take their time to make it actually be worth $60?
@wizardboyus xi was pretty good
@FreedomPrime You won't be playing it anytime soon, regardless. It doesn't come out until next year. I think most people will be over their Guild Wars 2 high by then.
@Bhemont I was sold when I saw jumping, lol.
@edant79 As long as FFXI is still pay to play, I doubt we'll be seeing this go F2P anytime soon, but you never know.
@Vambran The FF serie has a huge player base. Also FFXI has a big player base that followed into FFXIV and we can't wait for this poor excuse of a game to get fixed! :)))
