I had so much fun with FF Online when it first came out.

@stailcookie So it's quite like wow then, with raids and stuff, only not as good I guess (and noone can argue the game is good with 12 million subscribers)? Personally I have played FF14 and it sounds like they haven't learnt much from FF11 (2 different teams?). So, don't play FF11, but for f**ks sake don't even think about playing FF14. But don't play wow either if you value life, so it really boils down to not playing mmo's at all, doesn't it?

Like anyone who's ever played it would be dumb enough to start again (I'm saying this as someone who started over 4 times...), or anyone who never has would pick up an mmo going on a decade old (it is my advice to stay away, going into it fresh is simply not advisable at this point). Btw, all of those cool scenes in the trailer involve fights that REQUIRE 5-18 people to complete (the dwindled population has done them 10+times each and they require anywhere from 1-3 hrs to complete, some fights require you spend 40+ hours on a mission tree with a full group just to be allowed to fight.) The best there was, but it took them 6 or 7 yrs to change in ways that would make the game appealing to a broader base of players. Unfortunately server populations during that time dwindled and those that remained had had enough of assisting in mandatory quests and missions that require groups of players to complete. Too little too late unfortunately.

@Fiendvinny I totally agree. best MMO I have played, it just takes up too much time. None of the others drew me in as much, gave as much a sense of accomplishment or cool people. So sad about xiv
