Chris Watters fights robots, stares down Nazis, and interviews the developers of the new Wolfenstein game.
Did you enjoy this video?
i loved the last wolfenstein i dont know why so many people gave it so much flak, for how long ago it came out it was ahead of the other ps3 games. and it stuck to its roots
I was hoping they someone would make another Wolfenstein game. I don't mind if the new game is single player only as I don't care for multiplayer much. I don't mind it, it's just that there seems to be too many people out there with those accelerators or whatever they call them. The only multiplayer game I like is Call of Duty 3. Still play it even now.
If the new Wolfenstein is even half as good as the last one, it still promises to be a corker. Yes, I intend buying then new Wolfenstein when it comes out.
YOU GOT FIRE.......YOU GOT FLAME!!!!!
Hmm, developers from Starbreeze is promising. The Darkness had a great story.
Good move on MP. Be a master of one trade, not a joker of all....
Setting and hints about the story look promising. I think I will keep my eye on this game :)
No Multiplayer??? WHY even bother then. RTCW was the best MP ever created even to today's standards. I hope they re-think this. Otherwise I have no interest!
I dont beleve that Wolf is going to be good spectacular game, thats my experience of gaming..i know who build what within the game...we will se who is right ...
U FUCK, LETS SEE THE GAMEPLAY ALREADY.....FUCKING GAMESPOT STOP MAKING SHIT LOADS OF SKINNY GUY VIDEOS FOR FUCKS SAKES.
Why are folks excited about single player only? Why aren't these developers even mentioning RTCW? RTCW was the best game made for original Xbox. The online gameplay in that game was perfect. I get the feeling the majority of people "excited" for this game never even played (or probably never heard of RTCW) and are just hyped because of the Wolf 3d. Enormous bummer. I liked Riddick too, but the fact that there's no multiplayer in arguably my favorite series of all time I'm not even going to buy it. This is so disappointing.
"Nazis. I hate these guys." favorite quote from "The Last Crusade"
I'm a big fan of the Wolfenstein series and I think that taking it to an alternate history line is a great idea. Very disappointed with the report that CW can only talk about playing the game and can't show actual footage. That's a bit weak.
Sounds really interesting. I might buy it just to support a game focused on sp that doesn't feel the need for tacked on mp.
Could be good, first one will live in infamy
Do NOT let us down MachineGames. Your pedigree (Riddick) gives me hope...
Sounds like a lot of fun! Hope it lives up to it's current hype. Can't wait to see some gameplay vids.
I'm excited about the new release, have always been a big fan since the original 3D series. Wasted many hours playing the Return. Just hoping it won't be a disappointment like the 2009 "remake".
Game sounds awesome! FINALLY a company that is FOCUSING on single player, rather than detracting from a single player experience to create some forgettable multiplayer.
Dead Space 2
God of War: Ascension
or games that tack on a terrible single player for what is actually meant to be a multiplayer game.
Thank you for thinking of the players that like single player campaigns! Bioshock: Infinite was awesome, and can't wait for the next story driven shooter!!
please be more than just an 8 hour game
Super excited for this. I've been playing Wolfenstein since the beginning and I look forward to this newest game!
ps: we dont mention quake wars grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
o dear what a suprise.....one more gamehouse that totally ignores the people that have kept this franchise alive since w:3d.......2009 release was the biggest middle finger to the loyal wolf community imaginable...until now with the release of this news. the idiot in the video talks about legacy, the legacy of wolf is the enemy territory community that is still alive and kicking but which has been waiting on baited breathe since rumours started doing the rounds a few years ago that the source code for wolf had been taken back in house with the idea of an updated graphics engine but keeping the daddy of all mp fps true to its roots. but the middle finger of the right hand is accompanied by the middle finger of the left and perhaps a middle toe ^^; not only no mp but a next gen console release perhaps with the afterthought of a poorly designed port to pc.......shame on you!!!!
I forgot to mention Wolfenstein 2009 - I never finished it because the head bobbing effect when moving resulted in motion sickness. I don't believe I'm the only one that had that complaint. Not providing an option to turn off the bobbing was a terrible gameplay decision by Activision. Plus, Wolfenstein is about BJ (on his own, no tag-along AI buddies) mowing down some death-deserving Nazis or reanimated corpses by using fairly basic but satisfying weaponry, not by using enchanted amulets or time altering jewels or whatever.
Started with Wolfenstein 3D / Spear of Destiny on my 486 - truly revolutionary in the evolution of gaming. Then came Return to Castle Wolfenstein on my Pentium. Everyone I introduced to the multiplayer was blown away. It's what every kid (at least in my neighborhood) dreamed of when we used to play"war" with our plastic guns, only RTCW was a hell of a lot more fun (no disputes about whether you got "killed" or not, like when we were kids with the plastic guns). I played RTCW multiplayer until Fall 2011, when I finally went from XP to Windows 7. I do miss it! (Shout-out to the Beach 24/7 server.)
Very cool. Been loving and playing Wolfenstein since the beginning and this news is thrilling!
Creators of The Darkness and Butcher Bay? You can have my money.
How the hell did B.J wind up in a padded room for 21 years !!!!!
i imagine the battles will be like matrix meets battle field meets quake, like explosions everywhere and bullets turning walls and columns and tiles to shreds and ur sliding and PEEPWEPPWEPWEPEPPWEP and the mech explodes as u pass under it and then the explosion kocks the troopers around and u rise up and u dual wiled tow machine gunsa nd then u do a 360 bullet fan PPPWPEPEPPWEPWEPEPPEP :D
or something like that :P
hey, Gamespot, why don't you do some coverage on this 'MP or no MP' stuff. would appreciate it if you do.
Yep I'm liking this too :-D
OKAY OKAY, YOU DID YOUR JOB. I'M HYPED.
Fallout 4, TES 6(not the MMO), Dishonored 2, TEW and now this!!!! Bethesda looking pretty good in the coming years as a publisher :D
Despite only having like 6 guns and not as many real life weapons as Return to Castle Wolfenstein, the last Wolfenstein game in '09, had a long and fun campaign with the best FPS gameplay I have played on a console. Wolfenstein '09 could of gotten a 9/10 and been a GOY contender, if it only had more guns.
Yep the more I hear about this game the more I want to play it.Single player only yes please, giant mechs yes please.
Hurry up and bring on Mass Effect 4 or whatever it's going to be called.
Not every game needs multiplayer, I think this game will be fine without it. Most games now have MP, so why not make a game without MP and create a good SP experience? I mean, most games now have MP, but have a not-so-good SP experience, which is why most people play the MP instead of the SP. I think this game will cater more to people who prefer SP to MP.
At last no MP. Just because it's a shooter, doesn't mean it needs MP. This way they will focus more on the SP experience to make it excellent.
The one game that should have multiplayer doesn't but the ones that shouldn't have it do. I don't understand.
No MP is fine so long they are set on delivering a good SP experience. RTCW had great MP but guess what during those days not every game had MP. These days there is plethora of MP games. Infact every other game that comes out boasts of MP. We already have good choices to play. I would love rather have them focus on SP campaign specially their experience is in that field. Just my 2 cents.
@impact856 There ARE some players who plays the single player game portion because of the storyline.
@Ima_Grey I'd show you something if I could, but alas, gameplay is on lockdown. I'm guessing you'll see something at E3, though.
@AloeVera4 You have OBVIOUSLY never played "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" Multiplayer!
@Bruchko7 ......man do you actually have any idea what you are talking about lol....i suggest dl'ing enemy territory or idd wolf mp as mentioned earlier....and as for the plethora of mediocre and awful mp's that have come out in recent years i suggest all console players take a look in the mirror, mp's are designed with people slapping game pad buttons like a mad seal after a kipper.the more people can not be bothered learning how to play the complexities of a game the more developers will get away with releasing the garbage you have mentioned above. since the advent of consoles, games have become more and more dumbed down, if you want decent games stop buying their crap until they start actually delivering games that have no resemblance to the what you see in the adverts on tv.
ofc my blanket assessment/comparison of all console players hitting buttons like a seal after a kipper is disingenuous but you want a real gaming experience build a decent rig and throw your pad in the sani bin where they should be^^
@subach94 at 11:56 he say "single player only"
@Robert9650 Games like this don't need MP, because they're short lived games, play for a month, at best, done, on the shelf, back to Destiny, or Eve online, etc.
@unreal_master Why should this game have a multiplayer? Because it's first person shooter? No, it shouldn't and it's great they are focused to give gamers a great single player experience.
@etNut @Bruchko7 Sure...I agree - computers will always be better. However, some people don't have the $800+ to spend on a nice gaming rig and also don't like to constantly upgrade to experience the best new games.
But my comment wasn't about playing on the best system - it was about enjoying a story driven single player shooter. And I have high hopes for this one :)
