Love the interview, both of em are really spot on... Jane really does manage to squeeze out a lot of info in her interviews.. Love her.. Also lol i'd like to see this marketing guy they keep trying to bring forth... :)
Cant wait! Hope they ditch the pop-up points system when making a kill, as i feel this kills the immersion. I also hope the grass catches fire etc ala Farcry2. I also hope theres dynamic day / night lighting. so to be honest i Cant wait! Hope they ditch the pop-up points system when making a kill, as i feel this kills the immersion. Did i ever tell you the definition of insanity : ))
Oh, and I really hope they don't turn this sequence back to Far Cry 1, because I loved Far Cry 2 for being realistic, I don't want aliens or mutans in this one!
I like the idea they had listem to gamers about fast travel, but I really don't care about that; I played Far Cry 2 a lot, and I kinda like to travel, it's one of the bases of the in game immersion. Open world games HAVE to have fast travel for gamers who wants it. But if I say that even playing the huge map of Just Cause 2, I go from point to point by car just to feel that I'm travelling, would you believe?! That's the immersion!
ok, im loving this game so far, but there is one thing that is really bothering me... every time someone is killed there are points thrown in your face, i don't mind if it was in multiplayer mode, but not for the single player mode, i hope you can disable it or atleast have it on the side of the screen. other than that it is looking very good and fun.
I hope they fix the endless enemy respawns of the roadside camps from FarCry 2. That is really my only complaint from FC2. Also love that they are adding a fast travel element and expanded stealth. This is looking really good and I am looking forward to more info!
far cry would be better if they put in unlimited sprint better climbing mechaniCS faster cars better swimming mechanics other little things like the ability topick up a kicked down ladder or hold your breath under water or climb out of the water and on to a rock
@Splincir I do understand your perspective on swearing in games. I don't quite see it the same way however. In my experience, real-life high-adrenaline situations often leave people using profanities. Real-life degenerates and psychopaths often do swear incesantly, so when actors in games and films do the same, it only seems more realistic to me.
Ubisoft: Let's see how many time we can throw the f-bomb in a 3 minute demo! Answer = apparently a lot. Who needs Good narrative when you just throw out as many profanities as possible all the little kids will just eat that dribble up. On a side note though the game itself looks promising. Also I've noticed a trend with Ubi lately, and would like to point out to them, I used to enjoy playing their games around my kids and wife. Please it doesn't make your game any cooler to add in the all the cussing. Not everyone in America needs it to be too cool for school so to speak.
There is one thing that will make this an instant turnoff. Respawns. The respawning checkpoints in FC2 absolutely destroyed that game. If I kill something during the course of a mission or whatever the structured bits of play are called, I want it to stay dead.
Far Cry 1 = AWESOME! Far Cry 2 = Flawed and REPETITIVE (didn't enjoy it at all) Far Cry 3 = Forget 2! Make it more like 1 but better. Damn I should work for Ubisoft :)
"Did I ever tell you the definition of insanity?" Instantly charismatic character. I hope Ubi-Soft really focuses on developing more colorful characters.
damn I thought that there is gona be somewhere like siberia or canada, somewhere snowy! But its cool, its still cool! no no its great. Farcry is awsome, its one of the brands that make ubisoft be a great company
Oh thank goodness. I know alot of you thought the game had some shortcomings, but where else could you get that sense of grit, in an open world game. Setting fire to the savannah and then picking them off as they scattered was so much fun. Wounding an enemy and then picking off the guy that came to help. Some of you said it was repetitive, and it may have been, but aproaching each mission in a different way made it so addictive. This annoucement just made E3 for me. Usually pretty patient but FarCry 3 ahhhhh I want me some.
Yet another console port. I love how the video lists this as XBOX 360, PS3, and ... pc. Are the PC gamers out there getting tired of sloppy thirds yet? I know I am.
Was really hoping they would stay in Africa. I liked that setting even though the story and mechanics needed some work.
@LazyGamerX i agree with you totally .... FarCry 2 was soo repetitive,l i never completed it , just got bored of it. But one point i will add, the visuals were stunning back then !!!
far cry 2 ways boring and repetitive, repetitive, repetitive! So long as they can move away from that then they might have a chance at making this a good shooter.
Want's it to feel very real?!?!? Sooooooo...what's with all the stupid points that float in midair after a kill???? Yeah....very realistic there.
Now the marketing guy doesn't want me to announce spoilers about the story, but spoiler spoiler spoiler, spoiler, spoiler spoiler! That said, rather looking forward to this game, I hope it improves on Far Cry 2. :)
This is by far the most anticipated game for me now. Ive been wanting more since the first time I finished Far Cry 2. 2012 is now WAY to far away for me. =-(
i hope driving can be in 3rd person. i loved every bits of far cry 2 but the driving. nothing bad but i just can't drive well in first person
Jane is indeed gorgeous. She is also a good interviewer, and asks the right questions. She's not just a pretty face, she's a gamer and it shows.
I can't wait to play this. :D And the interviewer is gorgeous, gamespot should have her do all interviews from now on.
I stayed clear of Farcry 2 just because it wasn't Farcry for me! What makes Farcry a head taller than games like Half-Life 2 is that it's just so much more dang beautiful. But I was not a fan of the Savannah atmosphere in Farcry 2. This looks more like the Farcry environment that I know and love. Kudos to Dan Hay.
@archeliusNo its not something.
