i like it didnt spend too much time on it no more then 30 mins but i might go back to it. reminded me of simpsons hit and run. well without the cars
It's actually sort of an amusing little game. I've only played a few minutes of it, but the style options for player made characters are pretty funny, the aesthetic is true to the show, and show characters plus amusing props and gags are scattered throughout the landscape. Plus, the quests are mostly based on moments from the show or are otherwise what you'd expect from particular characters. The abilities are amusing as well. The equipment looks amusing on your character, but I think that's all it does. Likewise, a class of "social abilities" do nothing more than make your character make crude noises.
I mean look: many of SWTOR's fans play the game SOLELY because of the story elements, which are really an overlay on top of the bland, run-of-the-mill MMO gameplay. Granted, this game is much, much lighter than SWTOR, but it is also free, and in bursts of a few minutes it's fairly funny.
I'm not familiar enough with either the micropayment scheme nor the scope of the game to judge whether the cash market is fair or not.
The in-game advertisement is perhaps a little excessive, with Axe body spray logo bumper stickers slapped onto all the signposts and prominent advertisements for the products in locations like Goldman's Pharmacy. But the thing that really annoys me which is probably linked to advertisers' demands is the chat censor. Family Guy makes unapologetic references to Jesus Christ and feature songs like "I need a Jew," but both the words "Jesus" and "Jew" are censored. No, I'm not anti-semitic nor a Christian-baiter, but this is more than a little ironic, especially given how the show's fans had to fight against pricks at Fox to get that show's sort of humor back on the air.
Remember the Simpsons Hit and Run? If it's anything like that it would probably, actually be fun. Too many adverbs ha ha...
I thought it looked fun, so I registered. They said I can play as soon as I receive my "key to Quahog" in my email. I have already been waiting for days and being very patient and checking my email every so often and I still haven't played. This is totally not worth it. Like many people have mentioned, this is not to be taken seriously. So why should I have to wait in line patiently just to fill up their wallets later on. This is just gonna end up being one of those pointless "pay to win" type of online games. Which I don't even consider real games. Completely destroys the principle of true gaming. Where is the real competition if a noob can charge 20.00 to his mothers credit card and have the best sh!t in the game. It's not reasonable. This stuff is for the 12 and 13 year olds who need something to entertain themselves with after school.
i've been playing the beta. So far, i have not seen one quest or interaction that involves multiple people. More like a MO to me. No multiplayer at all so far.
@sgt_hunter I have to say, you are right. This does seem very crazy. Even though it looks funny, think of all the twelve to fourteen year old's which will be playing it and spoiling the experience.
Well it is (if i'm not wrong) a browser game, so graphics aren't great for a reason...
Looks enjoyable, but I hope it will not have to much lagggg.
Will check it out :-)
Looks good.. Looks similar to the simpsons game that came for the PS2..
If it's anything like that, im sold.
It's just a bad 3rd person with sound clips from the show. About what you'd expect from a browser game based on an IP.
@hemoleech I'll be amazed if it gets reviewed at all.
@R-Mak jeez buddy, it's a free game based on a popular tv series, would you prefer that they swing the doors wide open and deal with all the problems of scaling at once? You clearly have zero understanding of the technical issues, or you've never played in an online gme that was deployed beyond server capacity.
@sgt_hunter @ sgt_hunter
How cool would it be to have a Death Note MMO!!!... Oh wait, that's too awesome to happen. Oh well, how about a Family Guy MMO instead!?
@sgt_hunterlet people have fun . let the game be. Im sure you used to play games that today's kids would just laugh at.
@CocaColaNinja Did you know that if you flip your coca cola so the lettering is upside down it's actually arabic and it reads, "No Mohammed, No Mecca". Just thought I would let you know.
@barrel224 @CocaColaNinja Did you know that saying things that damn dumb should be criminal but thankfully for those of us who can laugh at the ignorami of the world it isn't?
