Faery: Legends of Avalon Daily Demo
Jehanne Rousseau shows us what it's like to fly around as a faery.
Break out the Magic KoolAid for this one 'cause you'll need it. I'm not sure where the role playing part actually comes in to play, but this seems to me like a very watered down console adventure game for 8 year olds. Which is fine and all that, just don't headline the game like it's a true RPG or even comparable to Fable 'cause it's a bit misleading. P.S. By the way, faeries don't have tails.
I played and beat the game on Xbox360, and it was quite enjoyable. And yes, you can make something other than "tinkerbell". My Fairy had horns and a scorpion tail, and was cruising around w/ a Leprachaun kicking butt. Immersive world and overall fun game!
can i be a character other friggin tinker bell? can i be a flying troll with a spiked mace who smashes skulls?
I just played the entire demo, and found myself wanting more. But money is tight, so I should use my head and wait for the reviews.
Looks good I was reading this is about a 15 hour game. For 1200 ms points thats really good value. It seems to have great customization with character and gear. The music ive heard from other videos sounds like something out of harry potter, but i guess thats not a bad thing. The rpg side of me is really excited about a good old turn based system with leveling and skill points. I got the demo, but ill wait for the final verdict in some reviews.
world exploration, turn based battles - I like those kinda games. Just wish they make the battle animations better.
It actually seems way more interesting than when I first heard of the game. It looks quite astonishing, being able to have such an overview when you're flying around, looking down upon all these beautifully rendered scenarios! And the combat system (even though I'm not usually into turnbased) seems smooth and simple! The animations as of which all the characters do during the combat also looks really well done, which just adds a major plus to the combat! Can't wait!
