Yeah I agree they need to work on the damage system, they are F1 cars, which means they're made of cardboards and not concrete...
Same sh*t again, game is not bad but the damage system must be improved, as I can see from this video that......wont happen
The graphics look seriously insane.
Although, the gfx is allot less important in this kind of game.
What I'm hoping for is they tweak it and add more simulation features and feeling.
I mean, F1 2011 was fine, very fun game, very beautiful and enjoyable to play, but it had (for my taste) too much of an arcade taste.
Looking forward to it anyways.
Couldn't they just designed the game to accept DLCs, big patch or Mods? Releasing a "new" game every year is just silly; especially considering that 90% of the game is exactly the same as the previous year. I'd buy a "2012 DLC pack"...
I wish "Geoff Crammond" would come back and do an F1 game I know it wouldn't happen but by jingo it'd be good!
Really not sure about this... F1 2010 was okay but was simplistic, and buggy. The AI were slow on some tracks and way too quick on others. The handling wasn't good and it felt like you were on rails. F1 2011 tried to fix the handling, but introduced a lot of understeer (it felt more like you were driving a FWD car, not an RWD F1 car), the AI were still inconsistent and the game was still buggy... From what I've seen of the demo, F1 2012 doesn't look like much of an evolution as the handling still feels poor (still quite understeery). Lets hope the inconsistent AI and the bugs are fixed this time. Will be waiting to get opinions on it before I buy though.
We need some of Grand Prix 4 implemented here, car setups and damage model, so many things can be done but instead they are concentrating on making multiplayer better.
Don't they realise that the player experience inside the F1 car over a lap and one race is far more important than showing "oh look at how quick I am at bashing cars at the first corner against human players"?
I wanna see a more realistic damage model. Blown tyres that shred and not just wobble like jelly. Random AI failures and crashes, something that has been absent from the last two, and better implementation of the safety car. I saw it once in F1 2011.
Demo tommorow?! FK YA! Been wanting to try a demo of Codemasters F1 games since they took over the F1 licence.
hmm as much as i like this game, I'll probably stay with 2011 unless there's a 75% off sale on steam. I'm really hoping they put a better damage model on the cars. I mean its just not realistic to go flying into a wall at 150+ mph and still have all my tires in pristine condition as well as the body... Or even be able to drive away from it for that matter. =P
I hope the PC version has better graphical optimization this year. Not to mention physics optimization.
The damage model still sucks I see, thought they'd slap on physx and have loads of carbon fiber everywhere but they couldn't even do that :\
@fzd88 This is how all sports games are unfortunately and it is in the best interest of companies to continue releasing games like this since it's an accepted, though annoying, practice. The real question is how people let companies like EA get away with this in the beginning before it was an accepted practice?
@wildamnesia How can they do that when over the winter drivers change teams, teams have different liveries, car designs etc.
@Rayrota The song is called What a Life (UNKLE REMIX)
