Exclusive Forza 5 Gameplay - Atom at Silverstone
Strap yourself into an Ariel Atom and drive Silverstone in this 60fps footage of Forza 5.
Car looks like it's floating, seems as though lighting is different for the car and landscape, plus even though it's overcast, shadows aren't dark enough under the car. Driving looks far from realistic too.
and i have a gaming pc so games like bf4 assassins creed and so on im getting for pc. Both new consoles are underpowered but there are exclusives i cant get on pc
Man i was going to get a ps4 first then a xbone after the new year, but the games i really want to play is ryse and forza, not much i want to play on ps4 maybe killzone but i hated the way it controlled on ps3 way to floaty maybe they have fixed it. Forza still the best racing game, gran tourismo hasnt been good since ps2. The ps3 version was a big cluster#uck of high a low resolution cars plus update after update to fix what shouldve been there from launch.
Looks good, but if i hadn't skipped FM4 i would have no reason to get this game. Maybe i should skip this one too and wait till Turn10 finally implements night/day, weather and tire wear/fuel consumption. Oh, and no FANATEC support is a epic fail...
It looks like it has frame-rate issues at this resolution. 20fps maybe?... XB1 can't run at 1080p confirmed.
Why do all these Forza 5 gameplay videos look like the drivers 5 years old or all the cars have about a 24inch diameter steering wheel?
Sorry, but the graphics are lackluster. Nothing Next-Gen about it. I do do see a good amount of detail in the vehicle, but the AA is bad and the overall lighting is just not very Next-Gen. Basically, being in 2013 and having these new consoles that are suppose to WOW us the fidelity just isn't there. Just a shame. I definitely will be holding off on purchasing a PS4 or XboxOne.
Regardless of graphics, I'm more excited by the sounds. That's the main reason I've liked Forza much more than other race games. I'd rather take an okay looking game but with phenomenal audio rather than the other way around.
Interesting to see that the grandstands are packed; yet in the mirrors they are empty :P.
Certainly looks like a "HD" version of a 360 game. However with that said, I don't believe next gen consoles are going to wow us with great visuals. Its going to be a large focus on the "whole" experience.
Everything finally makes sense.
They will release this on Xbox 360 too! Just look at this underwhelming graphics, just compare to any forza 4 video out there. Something is wrong here. But... If you go for 720p 30fps and without tessellation and down res a few textures it will definitely run on a Xbox 360, it is the reverse method of making a current gen game next gen, where they go for higher resolution, a little tessellation (to smooth out the hard edges) and higher res textures but it is essentially the same game. Why would they not want to sell 10-15 million copies to the massive Xbox360 userbase? Just wait and see. It will be released in may or so to Xbox 360.
And guys, before you comment read up a little on game production and graphics in general.
So much for next gen...
@carolino What a load of rubbish.
@RENE4THEWIN It's Native 1080p 60fps Confirmed. Grow Up.
@lazerethjones bla bla troll, best looking next gen game out there!
@lazerethjones Saying that forza 5 doesnt look next gen is just stupid. Look at the hood of the car when it goes to hood camera, the reflection is perfect. This graphics look amazing and you're blinded by your own ignorance.
@lazerethjones Basing graphics off of compressed video files. Yeah, that's logical.
@o0squishy0o Are you blind? At 1:08 you can clearly see the crowd reflected in the car's hood.
@o0squishy0o as long as you can see the cars in the mirrors ,think most people will be happy with that
@o0squishy0o Stands aren't empty its where the reflection is. You need to read about it on the Forza forums. It's explained better.
@KillzoneSnake Don't you have a no CD playing /No External Storage Device Allowed/ No Media Streaming PS 3.5 to go admire.
@KillzoneSnake Freud is looking for new patients.
@masterofacid ?? It's still next gen dude...1080p @60fps is a pretty significant difference from 720p @ 30fps. Those extra 30fps make the game play feel soo much better, especially in a racing game. If you have a really shitty tv, maybe the difference won't matter.
@masterofacid forza 5 needs dedicated servers ,so no it wont be on 360,just like titan fall wont be on ps4,just saying.
@masterofacid It's a compressed video. These videos don't do any games justice.
Come on, I know the compression takes away some details. BUT, you can still see how low fidelity everything is. I saw another froza gameplay video and the trees are pretty much 2 rectangles with a texture put in a cross. It is also very visible that there is little or NO AA, that is a sign of weak hardware specs.
My whole point is that both microsoft and Sony pulled a "wii". Where wii was just a rebranding of the gamecube with a motion controller, xbone and ps4 is just a mere upgrade from the last generation. John Carmack was right all along. If you take a xbox 360 or ps3 game and beef up the resolution to 1080p add some AA and amp up the frame rate to 60fps then pretty much all the power that is added to this generation is consumed. From a business perspective it is smart, low component prices bigger profit, but this generation is from a technical point of view almost D.O.A.
@Ace9590 Even with blur who the hell is actually paying attention to the stands when racing at 200mph ?
1:07-1:13 the stands are filled with completely blue seats but when he passes them they had people in them. Someone else needs the glasses.
@Ace9590 You both need glasses. I see crowds in the mirrors.
i havent' read any specific numbers, so i don't know where u got the 2 to 4 times the performance boost comes from.,
but as far as virtualisation, just look at all the company's using vmware or hyper v for virtual server environments, and the numerous company's using VDI as a solution..
imagin 'onlive' mixed with physical hardware on the user end,, thats what xbox one are doing, they have the hardware to handle some of the applications, and they have virtualised servers to handle other applications,,
now it just depends how they virtualise and what they virtualising,, but its definetely probable to boost performance..
I am just surprised that these companies can put so much BS hype out and there isn't a single journalist out there that challenge this ridicules claims. I mean, wouldn't you be interested in hearing how for instance MS will pull off the magical cloud computing feat that will increase the performance of the xbone 2-4 times? A few well formulated questions is all it takes from any of these meathead reporters... Well... nuff said.
Edit: Everything is a compromise. For the 4-500 dollar you pay for a console there is notthing better in that price range. for now. It is the BS hype I cant take.
I guess you ran out of arguments, but that is ok. I am not criticizing the actual game. I think pong and tetris still are fucking great games but now we are talking about hardware and the BS hype from MS and Sony to fan boys who doesn't know what a polygon or normal map is. Sure there will be great games to this next gen but don't expect to be blown away visually. And the MS bull crap about off loading computations to the cloud when it comes to graphics. When there is a zero latency internet and pigs flies. Give me a fucking break...
I have a really hard time seeing you point here, you are mixing apples with oranges and bananas. It is quite clear that you dont really know what you are talking about. Yes, upscaling is a postprocessing feat. Yes, you can upscale 1x1 pixels to 10000x10000 if you like, but it wont make the source any better quality. And as you just mentioned, Crytek REDUCED their in game assets so they could at least get it to run in 900p. This is what I am talking about. It is clear that turn 10 in order to run forza 5 in 1080p 60fps on xbone had to cut down on the quality of the in game assets. That is the reality. Period.
But I have to give you credit for the app dev insult, If was hilarious. It is the worst thing you can call anyone! But, I have 15+ years experience in 3D graphics, so I guess I have learned a few things a long the way.
@masterofacid @sammoth Uh no not many games on the PS3 and 360 can run many games at 1080p and 60fps. It's called upscale processing. I know more about graphics processing then you think and it doesn't always come down to polygon counts. It's about how it's brought together. A great example of that is what Crytek did with Ryse by reducing the models polygons to get better frames/ Textures and AA. The game isn't Native 1080p but, it looks great and that's what it's about isn't it ?
I still fail to see what you're talking about this game having Texture, Lighting and etc being bad. This game by far does not look bad, Not it's not going t o produce PC graphics at all is it ? It's a console they are about making the best bang you can get for the buck. You're claim is just another BS analogy on how it works. esp since NO developer has unlocked the potential of each system yet.
"So, go read up on graphics and game production before you comment."
What a load a BS. What makes you the expert ? wait let me guess you make Apps for phones. This is your pathetic attempt to try to discredit someone. It's a sad attempt at that.
All your post boils down to is an opinion and that's it.
So, 360 or PS3 games can run natively at 1080p 60fps. Processing wise I am sure they could run a 4k game at 120hz, but it will be a qube spinning... there is a trade off! if you are going to have 60 RENDERINGS per second it will take much more processing power then doing the same job 30 times per second.
60hz is not an absolute measurement of the quality or the speed of the hardware. What I am saying is that if this is the quality of the graphics (ie. polygon count. textures, lightning AA etc) that xbone can produce at 1080p 60 hz then the hardware seems to be pretty weak. You must ask what is the content that is being rendered at 60 fps to understand the power of the hardware. Is it a cube or is it a trillion polygon world rendered with full unbiased raytracing? Only then is the fps interesting to put forward as an argument of power.
So, go read up on graphics and game production before you comment.
@masterofacid @sammoth A sign of weak hardware specs. LMAO I got my money you don't even know what hardware specs means or any of it at this point. Sorry but, not many games on the 360 or PS3 run at a Native 1080p and run at 60fps. John Carmack has his own ways of looking at things but, look how Terrible Rage was graphically. The Textures in that game look like some kid ran through it with Crayola. Of course both systems are just an upgrade from the past ones. What did you expect ? Did you really think they where going to given you Dual SLI Titans in the box that can be affordable for all consumers ? Keep in mind neither console has been optimized yet by any developer. Over time these games will get better.
