Evolve Gameplay - Taking Down the Kraken as Lazarus
Watch as four brave hunters take down the monstrous Kraken in this gameplay from Evolve.
This game looks BEASTLY! and I'm a huge L4D fan (favorite game of last gen). But I need to see a bit more to warrant a $60 purchase. L4D had multiple campaigns that always ended in a standoff. This (so far) seems like just Multiple standoffs.. and I can see that getting tiresome after a while (as it did with L4D).
There's got to be some sort of "build up" to the final encounter.. at least IMHO.
Looks really fun, but those are some of THE weakest sounds I've ever heard for the guns. That sniper rifle might be silenced, and looks as though it fires some kind of energy..but seriously? Water pistols sound more powerful than this. I really hope those are just placeholder sounds.
This is another game that should have a campaign. Would gladly pay top dollar if it had a good campaign. I just can't justify paying $60 for just this. Campaigns can do a good job of getting you interested in a world/story/characters. Its what TF is missing in my opinion. are the hunters good guys or are they poachers? Are they doing it for fun or vengeance. there can be lots of stories to be told that can get you really involved. I'm sure this game will have some cut scenes or something , but I just can't be sold on it.
As with many co-op games, Evolve's potential is at its highest, IMO, when played with/against friends. The scape of PC gaming is very sparse right now, there are few games I'm interested in for a long time, even less with the much-anticipated co-op nature. Looking forward to giving this a try.
Wow, so it's one boss battle after another, after another, after another, except with no fun level in-between the boss battle. I rarely like boss battles, I can't imagine a game of just boss battles.
Had some friends create this gametype on Halo 4. Of course the creature was a Flood Mutant against 4 Spartans. The player could stay cloaked 100% of the the time and the maps were complicated. So if the player was sneaky, he could win.
Wow this site is dead. That's what happens when you censor people and ban words. Have fun on your power trip.
I think this game looks awesome. As for the repetitive gameplay they have only shown one mode so far. There are probably more. Wait until the beta.
this game looks like it would get old fast. seems way to hard to take down the Kraken you put so much effort into doing little damage. then you rinse and repeat it.
could be wrong though.
This game looks so repetitive to me. Just another spray2win co-op game imo. Just holding down one button to shoot the whole game...
As always. The guy playing sucks terribly. Just another lame game where you cant fail and get revived countless times.
@spartanx169x wait... this game doesn't have campaign mode ? or a co-op mode as in player vs enemy ? the only mode is available is 4 players fighting 1 monster controlled by a player ?
Except the boss is another player, and as anyone whose played L4D vs will tell you, this will probably be a riot with friends.
@sirapathetic01 ya not really impressed with the gameplay to be honest. but ill hold off my judgement and see what people say when the beta gets released.
@gameroutlawzz What you expect , they're using controllers of course they will suck.
Not sure what exactly you mean. The hunters have one target so basic teamwork will happen organically as a function of synergistic abilities ala TF2, and the monster doesn't have to worry about team work since it's alone. Presuming of course there isn't a dual monster mode. Honestly, thinking about it, this should actually be a fairly decent game for both group players and randoms.
@edinsftw @santinegrete @spacecadet25 @BabeNewelll @gameroutlawzz man, if you can't see my point you haven't played those games: keyboards can't be responsive enough to hackslash and fast fighting games.
