Just finished playing Oblivion, and really excited for this. Also bought Morrowind on steam. Wish I'd gotten into The Elder Scrolls series sooner. :)
.... I see number 1.... I see another 1.... I see six number 1.... too much epic this year.... going to cost me my life if this goes on....
Mar, the truth is, I agree completely. I'm all for more realism in games. You're right, that's what it's all about. I just found Oblivion's combat mechanism clumsy. For example, when rescuing a kidnap victim, I swung at an enemy and accidentally hit the victim. I feel as though a lock-on mechanism would be similar to our ability to target in real life and didn't see the lack of one as an accurate parallel. I guess it's a style thing. Truthfully, I think Oblivion is by far one of the most beautiful games. Maybe it's just something I need to get into. Skyrim could easily be the new standard.
@Piter if it had a lock on mechanism, wouldnt that take away from the realism? games are trying to make things realistic, and unless you can somehow lock on to one person and only be able to attack it and not miss, then adding that takes away from the realism.
I love this game, Played TES4 3-times. i like the open world games and this one will not let me down.(I hope.)
Okay, this is gonna get me tons of hate, but I never liked the Elder Scrolls games because there was never any combat system to speak of, just dumbass hack and slash. Not so much as a lock-on mechanic. I sincerely hope this game had added that. Otherwise, it will suck like all the rest. Take that, fanboys.
cant WA AAAAAAIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT TTTTTTTTTTTTT XD
@salgadooliveira I disliked your comment because you said "Oblivion IV", and everyone should know what's wrong with that. I'm pumped about TESV: Skyrim. I remember back when TESIV first came out and I had to update my PC with about five hundred dollars of birthday money just to play it. And further back than that, when I discovered the series at local pawn shop where I saw a used copy of Morrowind and had my dad pick it up for me. I just hope that this lives up to the legacy set by TES, and that the new engine is slightly less buggy than the application of the old engine to FO: NV.
I just hope they have the time to real finish the game before it come out. To many bugs and increasing frrom game to game are realy spoiling it all. And i can say that Oblivion IV was the best game I ever played (42 years old of fool gaming experience)
About time! this game i'll have Pre-ordered paid for and ready to pick up on my b-day what a wonderful present to myself lol, looking forward to see the in game footage... i have high expectations that im sure wont be let down. @Kooken58 . so very true
oh man FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!! and the characters look really awesome, almost lifelike on this installment, huge graphical improvement and can't wait to see what bethesda has done with the gameplay!!!!!!!!!!! oh man i swear to god i can't wait anylonger!!!!!!!!!
This game is an all consuming experience.I hand't expected another installment.A wonderful surprise.
@Fogshie7277 - Yes, Obsidian made New Vegas, but Bethesda produced it I believe.. It's still a Bethesda Studios game. But who cares about details right?
@iMuhKhajiit Srry didn't really search, I only clicked on gamespot's profile 4 them. also New vegas was done by obsidian.
@Fogshie7277 - It's not Bethesda's 2nd game? They've done tons. Fallout 3, New Vegas, Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion... and that's not all of them either. But I can't wait for this! November can't come soon enough!
lol at music towards end. Amazing GOTY worthy to the max, funny how so good it looks, yet its only bethesda's studios 2nd game
Words can't describe the hype I have for this game.....Oh and if you want great coverage on this game, I would highly recommend gameinformer.com.
what makes me sad is RPGs and PCs are hindered and held back by the consoles 5 year old technology. Or atleast the 360's. Could be seeing next gen stuff and larger games and longer stories if dev's didnt still have to make the same version and make it work for the 360. No offense to 360, it was a great system when it came out but ITS way limited now being about 6 years old.
After New Vegas, it's good to hear decent news. That game was pathetic, how they can release something so insanely broken is beyond me.
also it could have the attention to testing that sadly some of bethesdas games lack. who remembers the days of starting a quest and finding that the item you need to find is not there...
drooooooll...i hope they put in the fun and open worldness of oblivion and the gore and variances (in weapons) from fallout...
@kieran1307 You don't have to complete Oblivion before playing Skyrim the only details from Oblivion that are relevant to Skyrim is that the gates to Oblivion were closed (part of the prophecy) and that all of the Septim emperors are dead.
Can someone please help me in answering this question.. will i have to of completed Oblivion before playing Skyrim?
so many good games comin out this year, but not till the end, it's depressing. Bethesda makes the two best games i've ever played. Obsidian messed up one of them, But now that I know they've been workin on SKYRIM I forgive Bethesda for letting Obsidian make New Vegas. Guess I'll be gettin a game on a Friday!
