Too funny! I could really care less big-time because as long as the game or the like, looks/sounds/plays well, I, just, don't, care which console it plays on, at all (.)!!! Happy gaming all!
dont bother telling me ohh ps4 is 399, they changed their price and decided not to ship all ps4's with its I when they found out what MS was doing just to try and low ball lol. Both are impressive in their respective deigns, just wish people used facts and did research before saying dumb shit lol.
not a fanboy by anymeans, but if you watched the actual debut of the xbox they were running on the system itself and it looked just as good as it did at E-3. As far as you guys bitching about the bandwith limitation, most of this is limited because of the servers your connecting to. MS cannot sell enough consoles in the world to degrade the bandwith integrity, so at this point your limited by what you pay for. Now for what i pay for I upload at around 12mb/s and download around 40mb/s which is pretty good. Now say the internet companies go out and redo their lines with something other than coax that has the speed of fiber. They can now charge better prices on internet speed which theoretically are capable of up to 100gb/s.Now if you try to tell me that this is not enough speed for cloud computing, you obviously dont know what your taking about lol.
Ps4 might be more powerful but the xbox one will still be better. the ps3 is more powerful than the 360 and the 360 still has the better gaming experience.
PS4 is 50% more powerful than XBone Not 33% XBone would have to increase it's TFLOPs by 50% to equal PS4.
gonna get my xbox one day one mostly because well i have both xbox and ps3 right now and idk i might just be a fanboy but i really cant stand ps3. xbox live to me is better because i can talk to a group of friends at once and to me the dashboard is a lot cleaner and easier to navigate. also games wise i play with people that i actually hang out with and no one has a ps3 or will be getting a ps4 which makes my ps3 online experience rather dull. which goes to another point ps3 doesnt have great online multiplayer games its all single player witch is great but when i beat a game i want to enjoy some online experiences with friends. lastly i love halo, gears, fable, left 4 dead and to be honest i hear all this hype about this ps3 game and i go out and get it and its good but then it doesnt live up to hype or the multiplayer is god awful so it has no replayability. like when i bought my ps3 a few months ago i bought all killzones, all resistances, all god of wars, all uncharted games, infamous, little big planet, ratchet and clank and jak and daxter. "also got last of us recently" killzone was a bad shooter in my eyes, resistance was creative but still clunky and kinda bad, god of war was really good every game just kept getting better and better until i got to ascension, uncharted i feel was just overhyped to me it has good voice acting but shooting in that game urks me way to much, infamous was eh, little big planet i felt as if i needed to take acid to enjoy, ratchet and clank loved it same with jak and daxter. and i noticed that the games i played the most were ps2 games remade for collection packages. oh btw i know i will get hate for this and i know i am the only one who thinks this but... the last of us... definitely not game of the year probably one of the most overhyped games in my opinion
1. Which system has more potential five years from now?
2. Which system has more potential for game production studios?
3. Has PS4 fixed the voice over network issues?
ok this is the comparison i was looking for, cant follow fanboys smh seen some Sony fans saying its 50-70% more powerful, which is nuts cause both are quite similar but as stated the PS4 does have the slight edge, again, still happy to be getting both :) maybe not this year though :(
I've already placed my order for PS4, and I'm placing an order for xbox1 shortly after this week. But my personal favorite is the playstation.
The X1 is designed to satisfy gamers AND anyone that enjoys tech gadgets and wants the latest. The X1 appeals to a much wider audience and will capture not only gamers, but potentially non-gamers and may even make them gamers. This is what happened with the Wii and will most likely happen with X1. Then we'll see Sony playing catch-up, again, and implement everything the X1 has. The same way everyone copied motion control on the Wii.
The hardcore gamer audience is irrelevant, like they were for the Wii. Nintendo did not care about pleasing hardcore gamers and wanted to appeal to a larger audience and it did. The cash came rolling in and the Wii was a commercial hit. Companies will serve the most profitable demographic, and that's the casual user. When the X1 becomes a hit, Sony will follow suit and I can laugh at all you hardcore gaming social rejects that said Sony was so great for concentrating only on games.
You will be an irrelevant, useless demographicand societal dead weight.
sorry don't care for a media center give me a pure games console with most of it's power dedicated solely on games.
Seth: " .. give it an edge in the advanced media-center department"
Seth: " So which console has captured your attention"
He said it himself, the XBOX One is just an advanced media-center, which console captured my attention? XBOX One is not a console, its just a media-center that also doubles as a gaming platform. FACT, thats even how its being marketed.
Xb1 fans: "duh... better exclusives"
PS4 fans: "duh.. camera is watching you"
PC fans:"uhm.. i need attention. I'm the prettiest of the lot. LOOK AT ME! "
I apologize :)
actually if they did go fiber the speed would have the capability to get as high as 1000gb/s.... just saying
@dpclark the p$3 is more powerful that the xbox 360 and the 360 is still better.
And if I may add:
" Nobody knows the specifics of how the machines are architected or if there may be bottlenecks in one system or accelerators in another that change the impact of the published specs."
As bandwidth improves, there is potential for actual game computations to be off-loaded to servers in the cloud, essentially allowing the Xbox One TO BECOME MORE POWERFUL over time as more and more transistors are connected to Microsoft's cloud infrastructure.
@dpclarkNo it's not, BECAUSE:
"But the Xbox One is built to communicate with servers in the cloud to increase the computational potential of the system. Boyd continued "[As a developer] I can start doing things like shifting latency insensitive things to the cloud. You may have a limited number of transistors in your house, but you have an unlimited number of transistors in the cloud"
UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!!!!!!!! - http://www.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/Xbox_One_Hardware_Specs
@dpclark So teraflops is the ONLY metric that matters?
@dpclark Some Gamespot editors apparently can't handle such, um, "complex" math... ;)
@patwjburke Paragraphs, my friend, paragraphs.....
@Quidium Wii is more popular. Specs don't matter, you know. Wii wins...
1. PS4 - 1.8 tflops vs. One's 1.2 tflops (assuming One isn't under-clocked due to heat problems as rumored, which would make that number go down further).
Winner = PS4.
2.Sony has by far more in-house game studios. And, as we've seen over the past 2 yrs, Sony's exclusives for the PS3 have far out-paced MS's 360 exclusives.
Winner = PS4.
3. Unknown. Xbox Live is, for now, a noticeably better service because it is a pay service and MS has obviously used that revenue to make Live better than PSN. With Sony planning on charging for PSN with the PS4, they will be on equal footing with MS for the first time when it comes to online infrastructure. Only time will tell.
Winner = 360, possibly a winner for the One as well, but likely a "draw" assuming Sony's PSN revenue is put to good use at improving the service.
I own several 360s and slightly prefer them to my PS3s for gaming on multiplats (despite the PS3s better exclusives)...but I am switching to the PS4 next gen as it is obviously a console built for gamers and MS wants to target a wider entertainment oriented audience, the functions of which don't interest me. I may consider purchasing a One when they offer it without the Kinect at a lower price-point.
@Deingerous The PS4 hardware IS verified to be significantly more powerful in 2 areas: 1) 50% more GPU shader power. Fact. 2) 20% more memory bandwidth. Fact. This is not up for debate and is far from being "crazy" simply to acknowledge reality. That said, both consoles will have some good/great exclusives and gaming is about more than just raw graphics power. Still, you need to do more research if you haven't caught up to current events yet: the PS4 is *definitely* a lot more powerful in 2 major areas than the One...and the difference is much bigger than it was between the PS3/360.
Agree that Microsoft isn't looking out for gamers. They are looking out for themselves in regard to sales and profit. Yes, they will sell a lot of units. I know that will make PS4 gamers sad and will render their superior hardware completely useless. How will they ever be able to look themselves in the mirror again?
@vatorus Among other things, the Wii was a much lower price point and wasn't being launched at the exact same time as any of its direct competitors, unlike the One. The Wii also had (and still has) by far the lowest attach rate of any of the 3 current gen consoles. It was a success in terms of units sold, but arguably a semi-failure in terms of the numbers of games sold per console...precisely because it didn't appeal to hard core gamers. Your rant is not only transparent fanboyism, but you clearly don't have a single clue how the video game market actually works.
@vatorus And you will likely be a fat diabetic who cannot expend energy to pick up a controller to instead of a kinect sensor do all the work for you, afterall, thats what youre getting with x1. FANBOI POWER!
@ravenkiller You wouldn't rather have a game console with added functionality? The X1 can do everything the PS4 can do and more, the PS4 cannot do everything the X1 can do.
@Klyern It's still a game console numb nuts....it plays games
@deadfamous PC fans: we dont have parental control settings imbeded on our hardware :D so our parents dont know how to block pornsites :D
Result, PC won by a landslide.
" And, as we've seen over the past 2 yrs, Sony's exclusives for the PS3 have far out-paced MS's 360 exclusives." Really? You got the sales figures to back that up, because I'm pretty sure Halo 3 or 4 sold way more than Uncharted or any other Sony exclusive. I don't recall hearing how ANY Sony game sold $220 million in its first day like Halo 4.....
"Nobody knows the specifics of how the machines are architected or if there may be bottlenecks in one system or accelerators in another that change the impact of the published specs.”
AND the Xbox1 has potentially UNLIMITED processing power:
But the Xbox One is built to communicate with servers in the cloud to increase the computational potential of the system. Boyd continued "[As a developer] I can start doing things like shifting latency insensitive things to the cloud. You may have a limited number of transistors in your house, but you have an unlimited number of transistors in the cloud" UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!

@mjswooosh @vatorus WTF are you talking about? I don't know hoe the video game market works? Why do you sau that? You're right about the attach rate, but what does launch timing have to do with anything? What is your point? You're talking out of your ass and you don't have a clue, period bro. Dumb fck
@vatorus Why should anyone have to pay $100 MORE for a significantly LESS powerful console? To most hardcore gamers the Kinect 2.0 is going to be just as useless as the Kinect 1.0 has been, so there is zero "added value" or real functionality that most gamers care about.
@vatorus Grow up.
@vatorus lol Case and point...
@vatorus lol @ "cloud gaming" bullshit hype. Sounds like someone drank the MS kool-aid. Newsflash genius: "cloud gaming" is already here: it's called GAME SAVES. For just about anything else, latency is too high for it to help render games. Fact. Again you demonstrate extreme ignorance as to how consoles or the business of consoles works. Carry on. lol
"cloud powered, making processing power virtually unlimited."
True. Processing power will be "virtually" bandwidth bound, in sort of a "virtually unlimited" way. Pretty much will render all games at "virtually" Pixar quality in sort of a "virtually unlimited" way...
@mjswooosh @vatorus Significantly less powerfu;?? That's why teh Titanfall developers said their gaem wouildn't be possible on the PS4. The X1 is cloud powered, making processing power virtually unlimited.
And the Kinect makes bio-feedback possible. We don't even know the innovations that are possible with this hardware.
You're just too dumb to see the potential.
Missing the point. Consider that these companies have a finite number of resources. The less directed those resources are at a sole gaming experience if there is any real effort in other areas.
I buy consoles because I game, not because I want to stream television through it.
