Cam Robinson learns more about Xenoblade Chronicles in this gameplay demo with Corey Olcsvary from Nintendo Treehouse.
Did you enjoy this video?
I know they said it's a new story and everything, but at the end of the original it is discovered that the "Endless Ocean" with the Bionis and the Mechonis is just "our" universe recreated in the imagings of a madman. and supposedly Shulk has the Universe recreated back the way it was, with the world they lived on still included. So, maybe there's a chance that this new game could possibly tie-in with the previous one, maybe Mira is the name that the planet of the Bionis and Mechonis has taken, now being just a part of the universe rather than being the entire universe.
oh no, are we gonna have a silent protagonist?
Why did know one ask if this game will have multiplayer?
Please, please touch up the character models, that's the only thing holding this game back, everything looks brilliant and even the game interface and such, one thing im a bit hesitant about is the fact that your character is customied, i never really liked those features.
I am getting vibes of White Knight Chronicles from the apparently custom-made player character.
Also, I suppose that no one else mentioned White Knight Chronicles here. :/
Best game on the original Wii...Why did this have to be Wii U exclusive..
I hope this comes to the PS4
This game looks beautiful. Definitely something I would consider getting a Wii U. I wonder if there more characters you can put into your party.
the only game that would make me get a wii u gets pushed to 2015 :(
Damn, that main guy looks so freakin' out of place in an anime styled jrpg. I know they are trying very hard to appeal to western audience, but really, this guy creeps me out, he doesn't belong in this game.
I want this game either way but hopefully they'll polish up the characters some more before it releases
The character models don't seem to really fit the rest of the richly detailed world.
This is a Wii U exclusive?
I hope they're able to squeeze every bit of performance out of the Wii U and make the graphics just as beautiful as the scenery.
This is the PC port I want.
Okay, I just saw the actual trailer for the game, and at the end there's a Nopon, now I'm convinced there's some kind of tie-in between the two games.
@virtualskill Because this is a Nintendo 1st party game.
@wristbreaker Not a chance. Monolith Soft is a Nintendo owned studio. They have been for 10 years I believe. Xenoblade Chronicles X like Xeonblade Chronicles on the Wii is a first party Nintendo game.
@wristbreaker Me too, but it won't. I think Nintendo own this studio. This is the ONLY reason, for me, to buy a Wii U at the moment. I won't, but I liked the first game.
@Claudu it looks like the "customization" options chosen were too realistic, we should be able to make more anime style characters that can blend better with the rest of them
@phbz nitendo basically owns monolith soft, the first preview of this game is what got me to buy a Wii U, personally love everything the monolith team creates
@phbz Probably. The first Xenoblade was a Wii exclusive.
@Skrilla_XS The original Xenoblade Chronicles looked great...except for the characters' faces. Seriously...it was jarring how bad they looked compared to everything else.
@Skrilla_XS Yeah, I emulated the Wii version on my PC and made it look so much better due to the anti-aliasing and such.
@RJS86 @Claudu Oh, so you can customize your character at the beginning? I somehow missed that piece of info. I haven't played the first game yet, but a world built from two giant beings seemed like a more mythological and imaginative than a US spaceship crashed on an alien planet....
@oroelf @phbz Yes I know, was just hopping for a last minute announcement that could save me from buying a Wii U. But oh well... :D
@Claudu @RJS86 lol yeah they mention they created that custom character, think it was mentioned that you can choose sex, etc somewhere else.
The giant beings are from Xenoblade chronicles, in Xenoblade chronicles "X" the story is different with the spaceship stuff, not sure if the games have a real connection or if it's like a final fantasy completely different story type of thing.
@phbz @oroelf It's a Nintendo game, of course it's exclusive. MonolithSoft is, like Retro Studios, owned by Nintendo. It's a first party title with zero chance of ever going elsewhere.
@phbz I know the feeling. If there was a game to get me a Wii U this would be it. Course once I actually have the system I'm sure I'd pick up some other things (Smash Brothers, Zelda, etc.)
@RJS86 @Claudu The guy mentioned it was a completely different story. But it doesn't matter, because what I meant was that the first game had an imaginative and original concept for the world your in and in here it's just the generic "Americans crashed on an alien planet" stuff. It almost feels dumbed down with Americans forced in there to appeal to the US gamer... Like if Final Fantasy had poor sales and they thought, "Hey, let's have a teenager from California who finds that weird portal and pops up in a Final Fantasy world...". I'd rather tehy kept it clean, you know? Mythological sci-fi world with no connection to the real world.
@oroelf @phbz The line up for the Wii U is the best IMO. But this is the game that can make me buy one. Yet I would like them to drop the pad and the price.
@Claudu yeah i get you, the first xenoblade feels really sci-fi though and xenogears was about sci-fi spaceship crashing on planet which in simple terms created human life there which goes on for decades before the actual main characters are born. so the games looks more fantasy than sci-fi but the sci-fi feeling is present.
I'm thinking we're going to get a similar feeling from this as well
@phbz Wii u lineup sucks. IMO
@RJS86 @Claudu Hopefully, Xenogears is one of my all time favorite jrpgs. I modded my ps1 in 1999 to play it (a pirated copy, but there was really no other way to play it in Poland back then), but I bought a proper one two years later when I went on a trip to New York.
