After watching this I am not sure these guys really know what makes mages badass.

I like the idea, but it all just looks very, very meh.

Mages don~t need to be MADE badass. Cmon, they can melt flesh from bones with fire, summon demons and elementals, read and destroy minds, fly and teleport... how the heck could they be made NOT badass?

@Nodashi They weren't for a long time and I still think they aren't, yet. For example in BG2 you were able to chain contingency 3 simularcums which would then all sumon planetars - you quadruply with 4 invincible summons and spells that can send any enemy into different dimension with no defense against this, can kill whole areas with one party friendly spell, prepare traps, become invisible, untouchable, god-like creature.

The things you mentioned are basic, weak stuff. I'd rather tear enemies asunder with a 2h sword than be limited to that.
