E3 2011: Rage - The Authority Explained Interview
Find out who the Authority are in id Software's much anticipated next game, Rage.
Gosh, I'm just thinking back to August 2007 when this game was first announced/shown. It's been a LONG wait. But now I can't wait :P
this fall this will rUpe any 2011 FPS by far.. = ) ...well except Portal ofc,but do we need to compare ham with cake?
@id software Having seen quite a bit of Rage I got to thinking about the little niggles I have with it and with that in mind I like to say the following to the guys at id if they just happen to read this (very long shot). When you make the next Doom game can you: Make the sky boxes actually move/animate Add some more dynamic realtime lighting in the world Make more of the scenery destructive and interactive; stuff breaks and moves when shot etc Show the players hands when they interact with the world; opening doors, pressing switches etc
Fighting for the resistance against an evil tyrannical super power with awesome futuristic weapons. Here we go again :p Personally i would rather be the evil tyrannical super power with the awesome futuristic weapons :) Maybe minus the evil and tyrannical and make it the "Bad Ass super power with the awesome futuristic weapons" :)
Did anyone else see that guy which dropped outa the dropship and just started spinning and twitching in midair? Lololol.
id guy at 03.55 time says that "the waste land stick is unique to rage and you cannot find it in any other game" yeah well play DARK SECTOR then you we`ll see pal.
The game looks sweet, i don't care if these guys took anything from any other dev because in a matter of fact they are the guys that invented the genre so they have the right to do whatever they want. The game looks sick (definitely in a good way)
The animation & character diversity on this game look really nice. Stoked that the story is important to them.
@diduseethatduck Its actually Blizzard that says "when its done." Just clearin that up... But Rage does look awsome.
certainly from a shooter aspect this will blow fallout out of the water, rpg aspect i dunno, i hope its better that fallout
Please ppl stop saying it another fallout game i dont remember any dune buggys in fallout games its very much a game on its own.
Sure some may complain the game doesn't look "original"... ... but I compel you to name a game that is COMPLETELY original. You couldn't have the games we have nowadays without the games we had for the past decade... and a decade ago you couldn't have those games without the early 8bit, 16bit, and 32bit eras... Every once in a while you do get things in games that are revolutionary, but overall you never are going to get a game that completely upends systems, architectures, game designs, and technologies of previous games. Sure this game has a lot of terms and concepts from games like bioshock, earlier quake/doom games (obviously), valve games, wasteland-type games from recent years..... Oh, and what about the plethora of art, literature, and film references too? Huh, what about all those you ask???------> I can't wait to play this!!! =) that's what.
u a**holes...ID has the right to take anything from any game considering they created the fps genre. everything copied them if u think of it that way.
Looks cool but I can't shake that nagging feeling that I've seen this storyline before... Oh yeah... It was Fallout 3.
look bloody awesome ! minor point ; when we see the mutants ,they have this incredible a.i but when the " human enemy " comes , they look rather boring in the a.i compartment . i do hope they have the same unpredictability as the mutants in the game .
@mbashour Just so you know, "gnosticism" is a completely different thing than "agnosticism"; the former is hundreds of years old while the latter is quite recent. Also, "anarchy" is not directly related to politics, it's a lot more complex than that and it's a reaction against the idea of authority (and also a way of life).
