the part with dialogue can be soo cool in a game like DA origins where the main character have no VO but in ME3 just feels strange as he repeats what you just said on the other hand i really like giving voice commands to my team...
One of the earlier Ghost Recon games also had voice recognition (I think advanced warfighter - 2006). My memory of that is - it was a nice touch, but having an English accent made it almost impossible to use properly. Basically I had to put on an American accent ( and really go for it aswell :) in order to get it to work) which was really annoying. Be interesting to see if it works correctly in 2012.
Rainbow 6 Vegas had that kind of voice recognition... as well as end war. You dont need a Kinect, you just need a headset :P
Maybe now I can tell Garrus to stand down. He was always getting himself killed. Gotta buy Kinect before it's released.
That is definitely one of the female voice actors from oblivion. Also i agree with a lot of people here saying they don't really seem to have made such a big leap from mass effect 2 to 3. The advance from mass effect 1 to 2 was one of the things that made it a really worthwhile game...
Awesome! Amazing!...but honestly I don't really see the voice command appeal. It doesn't seem to make much of a difference to me. Love the rest of the demo though.
I am missing something here.....I saw the first ME3 video released some months ago, Shepherd was looking different, the visuals were awesome! I was really eager to get my hands on the game whenever it was released. These new gameplay videos dont look very different from ME2. Shepherd looks the same. Whats happening at Bioware. Did someone decide to compromise with the game engine, visuals to meet release deadlines?
Wow, so many jaded gamers. I said it from day one, Kinect is going to be implemented in ALOT of hardcore games and what do you know...ghost recon, fable, and now mass effect 3 all have Kinect functionality. You poor sods that dont own one, I feel sorry for you. Im glad I bought mine and double glad I own it now. Yes you can use it with a controller if you want, but I have the option to use it differently if I feel like it. You jaded ones dont have a choice.Too baaaad.
A better implementation of kinect would be to use it to point to where you want your team mates to move to and use of biotic powers. Personally I'd rather point to the on screen dialogue wheel or just use the controller then having Shepard repeat what I say albeit phrased differently!?! Damn I should work for BioWare :)
I hope they don't ruin the best game in history with this useless kinect stuff. They should concentrate on story, gameplay, characters and NOT on this idiotic voic command system. I don't think rpg fans are awed by this.
A Krogan CHICK! coooooool btw the Kinect integration looks tacky, I don't own or intend to own a Kinect, so I hope its totally optional, I'll stick to my controller thanks.
Kinect integration is all fine and dandy, but all I really want to know is if I get to have Tali back on my squad. :)
Now, I have no problem with adding Kinect to the game. As long as they don't FORCE me to use it. I don't own kinect, nor do I have any wish to. Let me keep using my controller and you can add all the addition functionality you want. Regardless, I am looking forward to this game. 2012 looks like it will be a great year for gaming.
LOL Kinect isn't required, if you don't want to play with Kinect, then don't play with Kinect, what a bunch of b*%chnin children. Good grief.
This kind of thing only works for some accents. My accent never works with voice recognition. To get things to work I need to change my accent so it sounds completely different.
OHHHHH THE PAAAAAAIN. The only good game for the 360 ruined. Damn kinect ARE YA HAPPY NAO INTERNET?!
Is it just me, or is everyone here hating on the Kinect functionality? Seriously stop complaining about something that you don't have to use. Pick up a controller, and just enjoy a great game .... that offers a cool feature.
A gimmick which is a waste of time. I don't want to play games and have to recite dialog lines while doing so. I'll need a 4 litre bottle next to my couch if i did.
sooooooooooo Repackage the last game and waste time on frivolous nonessential piece of technology? Sounds like EA has full control now.
man i wanted to see some hand gestured like choosing points in the galaxy map by waving your hand over solar systems and planets. if you are going to do it with kinect then do it BIG.
Cant Wait for it, but really don't care about Kinect, will play it on PC (will pay for it) No piracy here
My controller that came with the new 360 kinect does not work, I am using the old one. I am still getting Mass Effect 3, But I will bypass playing it kinect.
Voice command seems like a great idea, but I can't even get all my special controllers for various games to connect right away most of the time. If this thing doesn't work 100% of the time its going to end up being a hassle and could possibly get you killed in game if you are relying on it. I mean even my cell phones voice command doesn't call the right person all the time.
