Aww crap... just bought the original Halo from XBL... Worst part, it seems to lag for some reason, and I'm not pro enough to know what settings on my console or TV to change to make it run smoothly :(
This looks sick! $40 price point, best looking Halo game yet, remastered campaign, bringing back new maps... Awesome!! Only minor annoyance is that it's using the Reach system instead of CE... But I'm still cool with 7 more Reach levels :) Can't wait!
me too. and i wonder what kind of achievements they will put in. playing the PC version on legendary is a real ***** to get through
@slicedbread117 Yes so you play the game for the single player. Needless to say most people don't this is demonstrated by the statistics kept of the amount of players having completed the game being less than the average of the active online gamers. It is also relevant to talk about reach seeing as this game will have reach mutiplayer on it. Thousands of people quit halo from reach and if you follow competetive gaming at all you will notice there has been a heavy decline due to this. H1 is the game that most fans know as being the most skilled and balanced out of the 4. I enjoy the story myself and have played through it more than once but if you ask a gamer what is more important to them in an FPS game the majority will choose multiplayer.
Wish they would have kept the multiplayer the same instead of having to still play halo reach mp. Halo 1 mp was the best. That would of made me get back into Halo games. Halo reach is a cool game but its gone a little too far. Should of just kept it simple like halo 3 and it would of stayed great.
@darkangel494 If were gonna talk about a series that gives the same game experience every year its Call of Duty. And this remake is mainly for the campaign, I for one play Halo mostly for the story and Halo: CE was one of the greatest games of all time in terms of single player and the Halo community has been asking for this for a long time to relive the CAMPAIGN in hd. And were not here to talk about Reach dude, were here to talk about the game that literally put Microsoft into the gaming picture and changed FPS games as we know it.
Of course its going to look like reach because in the halo timeline reach happened like 2 days before halo.
@slicedbread117 Yeah 12 thumbs down because fan boys really don't care whats given to them, as long as they get a game each year and a griffball playlist they'll be happy. Why would you pay for exactly the same experience only with new graphics. The reach multiplayer is much worse than previous halos demonstrated by the low population in comparison to H3. The skill gap on the game is appalling but I suppose you enjoy a game where anybody can kill better players.
This is. Incredible! I don't understand why remakes don't have this! I saw the same feature in the Secret of Monkey Island re-release, where one button would switch the graphics. I am satisfied with what they have to offer. You can't really screw this up, to be honest.
There are a few cosmetic issues, such as the Assault Rifle looking like the Reach one, Master Chief's helmet looking a bit... Meh and the Marines looking like the Reach army, and not the actual Marines... But aside from that, everything else looks beautiful.
This is looking great! Hang Em' High and Prison is going to be sweet! I wonder if Battle Creek and that huge Island level will be there as well. Master Chief's visor doesn't look too fantastic or shiny.
@redweed they said it was a full retail game, its just priced at $40 being a remake. its not just going to be on the xbox live marketplace.
Lol how is this full price? It should be 100 dollars!(Or 60 in America)! 39 bucks is cheap for this, it's still a full game no matter how you look at it.
OH MAN!!!! I thought this was gonna be a full price live arcade game. Not a full price retail!!!! That sucks! Damn you know M$ have got their claws well and truly into Master Chief when they try charging full price for a game that everybody has already play 10 years ago. What's the betting they try charging £60 for Halo 4! SOB's. I miss you Bungie
$39.99 for a remake? They better deliver. The switching feature sound neat though, was already nice in the Monkey Island Remakes.
I really don't care much for the multiplayer, I doubt I will even touch it in this remake. Multiplayer is what destroyed the single player generation of lengthy-well though out games with a great plot and turned it into a short game with not much of a plot but with a more detailed MP so Randoms can mess around and swear at each other while getting owned by hackers. I still enjoy MP games now and then but the best games these days are usually the ones with no multiplayer. I still believe that halo has had a decent campaign though even if the focus was on multiplayer.
Wow. If I want to play the campaign I already have Halo 1. This guy is an idiot. The reason people wanted a remake was for the multiplayer. Not for some remade maps to play on crappy reach.
