E3 2011: Aliens: Colonial Marines - LV-426 Interview
We go back to LV-426 with executive producer Randy Pitchford at E3 2011.
they did not do duke nukem they bought it and tried to salvage it . go play borderlands and then say something smart people !
Hope he does this better than duke. I borrowed duke from a friend, felt bad he paid for the balls of steel version.
This will be really good! Gearbox is talented only reason why Duke was bad was because they were using all the old broken ideas from the games history these guys are EXTREMELY talented on their own! Look at Borderlands!
While I don't know good the WII-U will be for this kind of game, how cool would it be to play with that controller displaying the iconic Aliens motion sensor on it's screen?
Why can't this site hire people who can actually interview? Basic techniques like listening to what the interviewee actually says, knowing your product and above all having a personality that is engaging and not fake (this helps for the interviewee and the people who have to sit here watching). Apart from that I'm seriously looking forward to this game!
no xenophobes in aliens, unless you're taking about the vietnam era US marines -hoorah!- that inspired the colonial marine corps
@giancarlod he is no liar! he only like the games hes is working on, and he think than they would like people too! if the editors of s"""pages like this and ign doesnt liked, they can go to hell!!! he is one of the most confident producers who believe in what he is doing.... that is why im steel buying DNF!
Lets analyze this for a second... Mr. Pitchford is a freaking LIAR, after seeing the Duke Nukem preview interview that he did with Gamespot he dared to have the same smile and positive attitude he is having in this interview and guess what... DUKE NUKEM sucked monkey balls and after ALL THESE YEARS... Predators vs. Aliens turned out to be " NO BUENO"!! Gearbox and 3D realms while working together in development of Duke Nukem simply ran out of money and packed us with a game full of crap, so how can this be any better? Honestly we gamers take pride of our games and for a developer to charge full price on a game that it is under developed or not par with other games out in the market is a big SLAP IN THE FACE AND A RIP OFF!!! Personally I think there should be a law prohibiting stuff like this from happening. I don't know maybe we should have a national video game council or institution formed by gamers for gamers to analyze these games before they come out. It might sound radical but if you go to the store and buy a dozen of eggs do you expect to have half a dozen in the carton? Well its the same concept its a SCAM what these developers are doing and guess what? while you are frustrated with paying full price for a under developed piece of crap guess what these corporate sharks are doing? Chillin in the Bahamas under the warm sun and white sands watching their stocks grow from their Ipads.
lol he said Xenophob @2:20. even though he meant xenomorph. its still funny to think of it as. oh they found evidence that an Arizona politician was on board. game shows promise but still going to wait for a demo before I make up my mind.
This should be good ... if done right. Was wondering what happened to the Derelict, it was nowhere near the processor when it blew. Here's to hoping.
now, if friend could join the campaign beeing aliens playing against us..... damn that would be one hard game
Not so sure about this... I love the Alien series, at least the first 3, but there has been nothing good on it since then. Was really hoping that Ridley Scott was making that prequel, but that got canned.
If gearbox puts as much "love and dedication" into this game as they did with Duke, I think I'll pass.
Ha ha ha! I remember those action figures from the 90s! Like the Guerrilla Alien and the Bull Alien! Ha ha! Can't wait for more info on this game. I remember hearing about it years back and thought that it was as good as cancelled. Glad that isn't the case.
LOL @ Xenophobe. I think he meant xenomorph. I hope the story comes together, Hadley's Hope was destroyed in a massive explosion at the end of Aliens...after watching the conclusion of that movie, I wonder how much of it could be left.
I'm really looking forward to see how this goes. But I have one question: didn't the entire colony on LV426 get blown to hell by the venting system? I hope there's an explanation for that.
I absolutely love the Alien movies. This guy sounds like he's pretty genuine about his love of them as well. I'm REALLY keeping my fingers crossed that this lives up to it's potential. It could really be awesome if it does.
okie-dokey... going to need someone to sedate me right now. RIGHT now. Pitchord.... presenting a fully licensed alien IP. that's it. Put me in cryo until this releases please (NOT the cryo tubes featured in the 4th movie though please).
We have to wait and see and I'm gonna see it all when it comes out..... In other words I'm buying it!
Yeah "Hadley's Hope" was destroyed by the power plant exploding. Yet a nuclear explosion can still leave ruins and part of the colony was probably underground too which is probably where the Marines go.
They say you go back to that colony on LV-426, but that place was blown to bits by nuclear explosion! So i don't know, is there another colony somewhere on the planet? Besides, all of the aliens would be dead :P Aliens is my favorite horror movie sense 90s and nothing has taken its position even up to this day!
What about the APC ? No words about it, though two years ago Randy Pitchford stressed that there will be an APC you can ride...
