Why this game does not go to Xbox 360? Because MS' business model is NEVER give anything for free. ;-)
I really hope enough PS3 online players catch on to this game enough to make it worthwhile. It's free to play so that's a plus, but a shooter like this, while not revolutionary in terms of core shooter gameplay is something I could really come to enjoy in terms of scale. The level of customisation is mind-blowing, not just Gun1, Gun2, 'nades and perks. No I'm not insulting Call of Duty, I have personally just grown tired of it. Didn't buy Black Ops or MW3. I just hope when people play this they realise there are objectives to do and not just kill this many guys and win, though I read somewhere there is your typical TDM in this game.
Hmm...I noticed it was in like 3rd person shooter view when the vid first started, then once he entered battle it was first person. Anyone know if 3rd person combat is an option or are you forced into first person? I'm not a big fan of first person games, but I enjoyed Global Agenda and that's mostly 3rd person shooter unless you're a sniper.
looks great, love how its linked in real time (how many times did he say?) with EVE online on the pc.
Servers are up tomorrow for beta players until Monday! So if you want a beta key, go to PS Home, they are giving beta keys in the DUST 514 virtual room, only to the first 10k players.
This game is a work of genius - the level of customisation & interconnectedness & the general scope of it is truly insane. Never played or really looked into EVE before but I've got my eye on this.
@CrashB97 The typical COD players won't last enough in game, there is a big learning curve in this game like no other FPS on consoles. There is a TDM mode for those who want quick matches or just having fun, but those are small battles, and playing only that mode your economy will not progress enough to buy, build or upgrade stuff more advanced in a short time.
The big battles is the point of this game, a lot of money and Skill Points (depending how good the players is) to earn, and that is when the learning curve comes in to play better with the quad, team and the commander (which is a player using logistics and tactics in the Mobile Command Center). They will introduce tutorials and manuals in game, is very needed. Also it will support different languages, which is a lot better for worldwide players.
I haven't used home in months, where is the virtual room located?
@Hairygrim Eve is an outstanding game you should look into it while in wait for Dust 514
@AlfaxD_Centauro Considering how many CoD players there are, let's hope there aren't as many typical ones as we think. I'm beyond impressed with this game. I would love for it to do well, even though it's free.
E3 virtual booth.
@blindguy Not much of a PC gamer to be honest - got a copy of Dawn of War & a GameBoy emulator & that's about it.
Is it free-to-play as well or are there subscription fees? Might give it a go if it's the former.
Sure thing :)
@DKtroa Looking at what Centauro said I doubt I'll have enough time on my hands after September to carry on with it, & I've already got a huge backlog of games to catch up on over the summer once I'm home. Cheers for the offer though; was really generous!
Its pay to play. But you can use ingame currency to buy an item that gives you 30 days of play time. If your up for giving it a try i can send you a 21 day trial, and maybe even explain a few things so you dont feel completely lost :)
14$ per month. But there is a trial of 14 days you can download for free at EVE site. It is a MMO that requires massive amount of dedication.
