Dragon's Crown Stage Demo
Dragon's Crown make an appearance on Stage 1 and shows off its character, powers, and gameplay.
Looks like "Dragon's Crown" is drawing inspiration from stuff like Capcom's version of "Dungeons & Dragons" and Sega's "Golden Axe" games. That's awesome, seeing as I'm a big fan of both of those series!
The action and movements seem really slow and in general this appears to be entirely too similar to Dungeons & Dragons, which just got a re-mastered release. This game could definitely stand to evolve some more, though I do like the art style.
Wow this isn't cross platform? I'm starting to think that nobody cares about the Vita lol. By the way i'm selling a 3G Vita for 160 bucks if anyone is interested just PM me.
I must be getting old cause I just can't get passed the sorceress player model. As a female its just so distasteful. I know its supposed to be a kind of exaggerated anime art style. It just bothers me too much and I was looking forward to this game. I usually don't get put off by this type of thing but something about it just make me cringe.
This game is EASILY my most anticipated game this year. I've wanted a co-op beat em up RPG for so long.
Looking very nice.
For some reason it also seems a lot easier to see what's going on during all the action than I thought it was from watching previous videos. That's a good thing.
Never happy when I see lazy circles for shadows however.
It's the little things...
Interesting looking game but nothing I would buy on release. It really looks at best to be a $19.99 to $29.99 priced game.
@shnelle I know what you mean. I have no aversion to stylized art or erotica, but it reaches a point where it's just an absurd distraction. It's the same thing with certain TV shows. A well-placed sex scene can even compliment a show when it's done correctly. However, when it's SO cheesy and overdone that it diminishes my immersion in the story/game, it's hard to overlook. That being said, I love hand-drawn 2D art, I appreciate a good throwback game now and then, so I'll probably pick this up. It'd just be nice if I didn't have to explain to my fiancee that I am, in fact, in love with the genre and not just some giant manchild ogling the boobs. I also try to remind myself that however ridiculous the argument seems, there are, in fact, very well-endowed women out there, and I suppose they deserve representation as much as any other class. *Shrug*
@xGarrettThiefX One of the original designers of the Dungeons and Dragons beat'em ups in the arcades is a designer on this game.
Actually, yes it should! Looks like the GameSpot staff missed a word in the game's title.
@Leonagard the free art book would actually make me do a preorder
@DeViLzzz Would you buy it if it charged you a monthly fee? Or if was a yearly title that focuses on repetitive multiplayer?
@ProjektInsanity @shnelle Normally I could care less about being well endowed. I think its the clothing, the bounciness, and the well endowment. Like I said this type of stuff doesn't usually make me bat an eye. I think it's all of it together that's rubbing me the wrong way. As a comparison, think of a insanely well endowed man, put him in a very skimpy G-string that doesn't cover anything, and then have him jump around so that his important bits are dangling all over the place. Do you want to watch that while playing a video game?
@scatterbrain007 Had no idea. That's interesting; thanks for the info.
@DSkinMasque I will not be buying this game unless it is in a bargain bin. It is just not my type of game.
@ProjektInsanity You hit it right on the head. It's not being offended. Its just so distracting lolol. I just keep cringing hehe.
@shnelle I get your point, although your hypothetical wouldn't really "offend" me (not that you suggested it would), as I'm very hard to offend. I will fully admit though, that it would distract the hell out of me, and make it almost impossible to take the game seriously. Well, at least at first...with enough time, I might just grow indifferent to it, in the same way that I come to eventually disregard a character model that I despise, if I enjoy the game. The question is, would I really want to have to go to that ridiculous extreme? Not really, no.
