@nomailx Of course it LOOKS that way in the trailer with all the huds and crap turned off and the weird camera cuts, but the actual game will be more refined. And if you actually played Budokai 3, you'd know that the rock-paper-scissors thing is optional and the choice to use it is completely up to the player. And if you actually played Tenkaichi 3, you'd know that the only time an attack cuts to cut scene is when an ultimate attack hits a player, not when its first launched.
The game will be even worst than RB2. They turned all the combo system into a "rock, paper, scissors" challenge. All the free roaming is now over, the game consists on different stages where you play your hand and wait. The kamehameha effect is in fact a cut scene that damages always the same area in the map. In fact, the whole game now is a sequence of cut scenes in which you have really limited control over your character. Don't fall for it.
This game will be awesome if it has the following things: 1. A more Tenkaichi 3-esque control scheme (which they've announced it will) 2. An extensive and engaging story mode that spans into GT (which they've announced it will) 3. Destructable environmenta (which they've announced it will) 4. Additions to the fighting mechanics, like a system remnisent of the Dragon Rush from Budokai 3 (which they've announced it will) So yeah... this game SHOULD... IN THEORY... be epic \m/
This game is gonna be awesome, i was disappointed by Raging Blast 2 because it didn't have a story mode just a bunch of random fights
if the fighting system is like the 3 ones before im not buying it i want the Budokai 3 fighting system and the storyline
seems every year theres a new dbz game comeing out and most are junk this one looks ok as a big fan since the start of dragonball z ill prob get this
Ive been a dbz fan for awhile now and i really wish they would at some new stuff to the series like a season after GT i mean unless things change this will possibly be the last dbz game that any right-minded person might get
they should have added blood instead of those hit flashes. DBZ is an old anime all fans should be over 18 or at least 16 years old. I wonder what the market target is for these games because small kids don't know about dbz. Kids these days only watch disney channel, no violent cartoons there :P
this game better be DBZ worthy,They should make a dbz game dat gamespot critics will give a score of 10 out of 10
they just need to keep things simple, throw in as many characters as possible. not just certain ones. give us different outfits to, not just a slightly different shade of oranage and a different symbol that most people dont notice or understand. some characters outfits changed, which was nice. some i get don't have any, fine ok. no problem. but ...throw sayain (sp,...sorry no nerd rage please) armor onto everyone. why not?!?! i'd like it to be good. i may have even posted before, they are just so ....the same old thing. every time. i say....make it AO rated. go mortal kombat style. fatalites, blood. distructo disc should actually cut. i dont want like...gore. but something new might be what DBZ needs. even if it is copying...
@boklau I think we all know know that's not gonna happen. They're starting a new trilogy. They'll do the same as the others: For each game, they'll add more characters and make the story mode better. It's always been their money making strategy. Sad but true.
Nothing new... for me, it was enough with Budokai 3, then... Repeat, repeat and repeat. At least... Pleaaase! if this is "Ultimate" don't make Ultimate 2 bcoz that would sound really stupid. Like the 4th movie of matrix trilogy
THIS GAME NEEDS TO BE DBZ VS CAPCOM OR LIKE DBZ UNIVERSE ONLINE SEARCH FOR THE DRAGON BALLS LIKE DC UNIVERSE.. PAST AND FUTURE ENEMIES
they need to rebuild this game from the ground up ,making the movements more realistic, more detail, more brutal, more serious,a lil blood ,making it where you can almost feel the impact & power yall know what i mean
@Frostyballoon right, it's crazy how diehard some of these fanboys are. half of the folks talking about this'll be the best dbz game ever more than likely said that every year the past 10 yrs these games came out. It's said to see folks continuously getting milked out of money for this stuff
FINALLY tenkaichi is back all the other dbz games that came out for the ps3 and 360 were garbage and pretty much the same each time
This series died like 10 years ago and they are still making the same game with the same story with the same characters...they are only adding like a small addition to the already repetitive game...It kinda sad that people are still excited over this franchise when they keep milking the sh!t out of it..I used to be a fan of DBZ but then I grew up...I think everyone should grow up and move on...keep it in your memories as a good past time as a child not some recycled sh!t they produce once a year
make the COMBAT better ! series is getting better with each game i think. but the combat is way to simplistic , every character plays the same. Hoping they put it all together this time.
This better be following Tenkaichi 3 and have ALL the characters plus more. Raging Blast and everything else greatly dissapointed me with reseting everything and just making it look better.
haha this looks awesome! im not even a DBZ fan, i just jumped on the bandwagon when burst limit rolled around. really liked that game, and i love the "epicness" of the fights. tossing dudes hundreds of meters and moves that blow up planets. in my opinion its what the fighting genre needs to spice it up a bit. actually hoping this can deliver a good time like burst limit did
@Megamandrew @Dragonx79 you guys don't understand! DragonBall Z is still FREAKING huge in Japan!! ( maybe close to Madden/Call of Duty levels here in the U.S. ) Yes!! they're milking it!! but...they're getting that load of yen! that will make any publisher in Japan smile!!!
When RB2 was released I didn't approve of graphic style (less cell-shading, more like 3d models) but I guess they nailed it here..and seriously couldn't they pick something else for trailer? I mean Goku vs Vegeta first saga fight and Goku vs Freeza energy beams clash. They used it like in every single one
@Megamandrew , couldnt agree more with what you said. They've been milking the series by making a game every year with minor additions and due the hype of a new dbz game they continue to profit from this. I myself have fallen for the Dbz hype in an upcoming game time and time again, the budokai series' first 2 game's were decent (as a matter of fact i thoroughly enjoyed them) and budokai 3 was a huge improvement to budokai 2, making for a solid dbz game. After that it's basically went downhill, tenkaichi 1 had the hype of being the first 3D game. I dare you to play it now, more of less its not a good game at all. Tenkaichi 2 again had notable improvements to make a soild game. Tenkaichi 3 made a few notable tweaks in it to make for a more better experience, but once again a new series get's made and it starts from scratch again with Burst limit. Good graphics but a sad attempt with repetitive game mechanics, and then raging blast which is [for a lack of a better word] clunky. Again they improve on raging blast 2, and now ANOTHER series which looks like it plays almost exactly like raging blast 2. To get the honest truth of how good or bad a game is, look at the general ratings of them, its pathetic not one game has come out with a score on Gamerankings near budokai 3, with most of them being a 6-7 at best. I've almost given up entirely, but i still wait for the day that a dbz game comes out with as much fun, and elements true to dbz series like budokai 3.
Can they just make a damn DBZ game in HD with all the characters in it? Seriously I'm still using DBZ:BT3 because it actually has everyone from ball, Z and GT. Why do they keep reseting to freiza saga and junk, i dont even see Cell saga in this let alone Buu and that rediculous. Seeing as DBZ games have gone through over 20 titles already in the fighting genre
So finally they put the Z tag into game titles, also the original japanes dbz logo (the dragon with ball)
