most likely will be playing this on console since my computer is not much of a gaming powerhouse... Wish it was now...
Considering how much power they're claiming it has, it'll probably require a bit of know-how to use. (If that's what you mean by hectic) XD
@blackfire83 Bioware already announced the most popular user created content on PC would be put on xbox live etc so people with console versions won't be missing out on very much at all.
Pre-ordered the deluxe edition already. This game looks like its seriously going to set the standard for all RPG's to come. The tool set is going to make it an Oblivion kinda thing, where we'll be getting mods for the next few years. Excellent news Bioware. And for those that dont know, theres a Flash game you can play. Its kinda fun, and you can unlock items in-game by completing the quests in the Flash game. Its called Dragon Age; Journeys. Dialogue is kinda cheesy, and again, its a Flash game, but the items might make it worth it.
Of course, they decide to release this information after I decide to reserve it on a console. Might have to reconsider that now....
Excellent... I'll probably be playing this on a console (since I doubt my laptop can run it) but I'm glad they're carrying on the tradition. User content just extends the life of a game tenfold, and gives hobbyist designers and developers plenty to chew on.
Fallout 3 had that too, all my weapons are real, not even one ingame was left  But in fallout 3 they didnt advertise the way they do.
Now all they need is a good platform to distribute that content with micropayments that get split up between Bioware, the user who created the content and the content provider. That should be an additional motivation for people to keep making great content in their spare time. I'm willing to pay for my entertainment if the price is reasonable and the content worth it. There should be a revolution regarding pricing of game content by now. "Pay what you want" doesn't work that well because a lot of people don't think about it and just go "1 cent lol".
Hopefully this is as easy to use as the Construction Set for Oblivion. Sounds awesome though! Gotta love toolsets for games!
please please PLEASE make the toolset for xbox 360 too. PLEASE!! even if all you can customize is the armor i would be happy!
@Aryck1095 A lot of Xbox 360 users on the Oblivion forum switched to PC, once they discovered how great mods are. Can't mod a console game, and the command consoles (like you have in Oblivion & Mass Effect) are only available on the PC. For example, in the PC Version of Oblivion, if your character gets stuck in a bunch of rocks, all you have to do is open up the command console, enter the "TCL" command, and your character is freed (don't have to reload a saved game).
@Aryck1095 It's the same as Oblivion's Construction Set: it's PC-only. This puts all other developers' toolkits to shame. Cinematics as well? OMG.....:o
With the ability to add your own cutscenes and voiceovers, it seems like this will be the best way to experience interactive fiction yet. I can't wait for a full conversion mod with 20 hours of gameplay in a futuristic or LOTR or whatever setting. :D
