This is like a easter egg, you know it exists as a joke, and that you dont need an explanation to its existence, but unlike most most easter eggs, they are actually trying to make a profit out of it. thats why they will try to explain, but they will not make any sort of connection between the universes, they know its ridiculous and not possible.
I dislike this because the two universes are not interchangeable. In order for them to place this within the dragon age universe they need to try and come up with some kind of story to make it all fit and that story will be completely unbelievable. At least with the dragon age armor in Mass Effect, it was really just the aesthetic of the dragon age symbol on Mass Effect-style armor. In this it is more than just an aesthetic, the armor design looks to be completely ripped from Dead Space and it just looks out of place within Dragon age's universe. It is also not just a case of "if you dont like it. dont get it" because publishers and developers are looking for feedback to see what kinds of DLC people like. So if you like it, say so and if you dont like it, say so.
daftpunk7 i agree with you, this is just fun some people is just some, annoying criers,if you don't want it don't down load it,simple as that, but no they have to come on here and be a jerk to everyone else, this armor looks cool to me just like, dae and ME2 armor.
What is everyone's problem? Why is this costume so wrong? I think it's pretty cool, and if u want to do an argument, then do a valid one, instead of stating how they're sellouts and there's no point to this. Just as DanteDemon92 said, if u don't want it, DON'T DOWNLOAD IT. Stop sitting here and being an A-hole to everyone who likes it.
You don't see Mario's plumber outfit code being advertised for download in Skyward Sword... I'm no Nintendo fanboy (don't even have a wii), I'm just sayin'.
@MooncalfReviews It's cool man. Don't sweat it. But bethesda's games are definitely published by Zenimax Media. EDIT: I just looked it up, Zenimax is the publisher, but Bethesda is actually the developer division of the same company. So in a sense, you are right in saying that bethesda both develope and publish their own games. Zenimax is the publishing division and looks like it's starting to spread out it's wings by starting to take other developers into it's repertoire. So yeah, technically we are both right. Zenimax media are technically the publisher, and technically bethesda and zenimax could be considered one in the same depending on your viewpoint.
@bignick217 Oh right I didn't know that. I was sure that on the GS page for Fallout 3 it lists Bethesda as both publisher and developer.
@MooncalfReviews Actually, Bethesda don't publish their own games. Bethesda's publisher is called Zenimax Media. If you watch the beginning sequence of any of bethesda's games, you'll see the zenimax logo in smaller print under the bethesda logo. Zenimax is a good publisher. It's one of the few publishers that gives it's developers center stage rather than the other way around like EA. That's probably why you didn't notice their name before. It's also part of the reason why id chose to go with zenimax instead of EA and Activision. Because id would get to keep center stage in the eyes of the gamers and keep the most control over their own studio. 2 things EA and Activation would never allow due to their heavy handed business practices. But I do agree with you, i would love it if Bioware jumped ship over to Zenimax.
I liked the "bonus longsword and shield" thing. Pre-order our crap now and you will get a sword and shield. Just hope they will try to make 2nd game with less glitches.
Bioware should ditch EA and self publish like Bethesda do. They probably have the money to do it by now, and they'd retain full creative control over things like this crap (not to mention, they'd be able to make KOTOR 3 instead of a bloody MMO which is going to make no sense to the Starwars cannon).
I'm sorry... But WTF...was that!? What the hell does Dragon Age have anything to do with Dead Space. They're not even made by the same developer. Don't get me wrong.. I like Dead Space and Dragon Age... But how the hell did they manage to link these games in this (and yes I will say it) rediculous manner.... . . . . . . Oh this just isn't working... The more I think about it, the more confused I'm getting... So I'll just end this on my original note... "I'm Sorry.... But WTF...was THAT!?"
This is what happens when your publisher starts forcing you (the dev) to do things you don't want to do.
wait, what if we purchased dead space 2 from steam? I did and I didn't see anything like this with it.
@Vrybrd Sorry if i'm being a little confusing, but i have nothing against this game in particular nor it's developers. I love bioware and their history of games. In addition, I too loved the first DA and hope this one will be better or just as good. However, my biased and argument in this situation was directed more towards EA's trends in selling dlc.
@oKiRe However good or bad you think DA2 is, has nothing to do with some cross-over merchandising, that really doesn't serve a purpose accept for fans of both games. What i really want to know is, what do you expect from gamedevelopers? Because i understand and even share your view, though i can also applaud a gamedeveloper for a job well done! When you attack one of the few gamedevelopers, that actually do listen to the community and try their hardest to provide us with the experience we want, there is seriously something wrong with you! Dragon Age was a good game, they did a lot of refreshing new things with storytelling and gameplay. Now they bring us a much anticipated sequel. Apparently it has the same feel to it, but a whole new perhaps even better gaming experience.. I actually love sequels when they are done well. It gives them a chance to improve a good game, without taking 10 years to develop. And in any case, do you really want a game that drones on for 150+ hours just to finish it? Why don't you explain what is worth our time and money, because i think you might be looking into the wrong genre..
@Tigerprince Natural selection? Last time i checked we weren't discussing biology here. When you continue to release the same "crap" every year to gullible consumers, you are not progressing the video game industry in anyway besides making the company and investors money. Hence why we see the same video games having sequels that are being released year after year that barely change from the original. You are investing in "crap" and will continue to receive "crap" from the video game industry, by doing so.
What use does this have, accept if your a Dead Space fan? Are you supposed to keep the armor on the whole game and take pretty pictures? Seems kind of useless and a weak marketing scheme EA, but thx anyway...
@oKiRe What the F is wrong with YOU? We pay for these games because we love them and stand behind the years of hard work that companies put into creating these games. When it comes to bad games, of course there will always be a sucker who gets screwed, but that person is SUPPOSED to get screwed because he/she was too stupid to realize it in the first place. Thats natural selection you retard
Kinda off topic but....one of the things I think Bioware need to get more credit for is their amazing game music...oh and for this armor...eh cool but more of an EA linking franchises stunt
What the F is wrong with youths today, the media has brainwashed your minds. You guys are paying for s*** in video games we never used to have to pay for, and you just keep funding these dirty schemes video game companies keep hustling out.
Not buying, and sure as hell not buying in game items that should have already been included in the game. Thanks and bye EA.
I don't understand why people are complaining over this. If you don't want the armor, don't download it. Simple as that.
I do prefer when cross-over marketing like this at least comes from the same developer (Like the ME2/DA1 Armor). But, as something that's entirely free and optional, there is indeed no call for serious complaints. Can't imagine any DA fan who wasn't going to get Dead Space 2 is going to shell out the 60 bucks just for a set of lore-inapropriate armor, anyhow.
These post are humorous. So much grief over a suit of armor. Its not mandatory you use it. If you don't want to use it, don't equip it. LMAO.
ha. this so awesome! the two games i've been looking forward to get this year and im getting free armour for the second one, cant complain! i just hope the armour is decent and not outdated a few hours into the game! come on friday:D
@Shelledfade1 or you could NOT use the code, buy the game, or use the armor... damn free will, damn you to hell!
I hope they fix one thing that annoyed the fudge out of me in origins, is the fact that there's no rewarding loot in the game, you get a rouge in your team just for the chests and all you find is goddamn mushrooms.. really annoying
@cyberlord852 play dragon age origins and you'll understand that this game is most likely going to be amazing. :D
