I feel like it'd just be dumb to not play stealthily. Obviously you'll have to kill people sometime, but doing it like this just is silly.
The only thing I'm worried about in terms of gameplay/A.I. mechanics is... Do these people have EARS? He slaughters like three people, lots of guns and screaming, yet in the next room over, nobody has a clue.
Guys why so many complaints about graphics? This game is unfinished, graphics are usually one of the last things they finish. As to how overpowered the player looks (and how bad the AI looks), balancing is something that takes time. Look at Blizzard, they are constantly changing build times and movement speeds of units in Starcraft 2. Balance will come once the devs are happy with the engine and finish programming the world, and will probably continue after the release, and graphics will come closer to the release date. From what I see, game play looks pretty unique, story line looks solid and intriguing, and there's replay value as they've already mentioned that there's multiple endings as well as multiple play styles. Yes it looks similar to Bioshock, but honestly Bioshock was fun, why not have another game similar to it? I'd rate this game an 8.5, and I'm really excited for its release!
WOW, im impressed, looks very good. Love the dark feel and the period it plays in. It's almost a League of extraordinary gentleman ft Bioshock.
Oh! i forgot something,the thing that make me want this game even more is about the strategic,i mean its like hitman blood money,why you ask? well because you can finish the quest as you like and if you want to rush and kill them,stealth playstyle or just poses the fish and go to the real target without killing the soldiers.well before replying to and telling its not well its mean opinion so respect and i will respect yours ;)
gamespot review already in 6.5 as it is not made by blizzard nor does not start with grand, assasin or call, and it does not end with duty auto or creed so it is just not going to be getting a good review.
Although I haven't seen the comparison, I know many must have commented on the fact that Dishonored is simply BioShock added to Assassin's Creed. While that is not necessarily a BAD thing, it appears to be a whole lot of content shoved into a tiny package (i.e. it doesn't appear to be an open world game). Unfortunately recent 'can't miss' releases have been over hyped disappointments which makes me wary of plopping down $60 on an unknown no matter HOW in love the developers are with their products.
It is even gotten so bad that I have become a little suspicious of numbered reviews of games like dishonored on once trusted sites like G4, and IGN (and yes even here on GameSpot), to the point where I begin to look at a) how quickly it becomes a 'used' title, or b) the game is discounted by retailers to give me a better take on the game's true 'worth'.
Game looks amazing. Absolutely beautiful art design and some pretty cool game mechanics it seems. However, it seems relatively easy. Don't know if that's just because (as on most demos) the devs made their character overpowered so that they can show off what you can do in the game, or if it's really that easy. Don't get me wrong, it's more realistic. One pistol shot to take an enemy down to the ground and one swing of the sabre to finish him off... Pretty realistic. But doesn't show the difficulty level gamers are used to. Nonetheless, I'm beyond excited for this game and can't wait for October.
This looks pretty bad, I gotta admit. I love Bethesda and almost everything they have done, but this looks very overpowered and not very much fun.
@fer_filipe crank up the difficulty?
It looks great, visually. The AI on EVERYONE looks stupid. You throw people through windows, you would expect someone in the next room could hear that. You throw someone into the lake, but the guard that was standing on the balcony looking in the direction just goes "Oh look....I know him...*continues looking out*" This demo has actually put me off this game! But yes, it looks great, and the gameplay features seem awesome! But I hope that this difficulty/AI setting is on lower than EASY. I hope it's set for "Noobs who has never played a video games before".
@Hey_Jay I think he used a sleeping dart.
@Hey_Jay ya, what a jerk!
@zzanzabar retailers dont discount games based on the games true worth. They base if it sells or not
@arganvain look up the sneak video one. it shows the different difficulties and how the people act on each one. most likely the guy was playing on easy for this one
@arganvain yeah the AI does not look that sharp and you can feel they are kinda slow with a small range of detection
@MrBunson This isn't made by Bethesda, it's made by Arkane Studios. It's PUBLISHED by Bethesda.
@MrBunson Yeah, not sure if they are just trying to show off as many skills as possible for purposes of this trailer or if your character will have to slowly unlock all these powers or pick choose which ones to specialize in.
@Gooeykat I hope so. And I hope this game is great and that a lot of gamers get to enjoy it. Just thought I'd post what I felt to see if anyone else was as unimpressed as I was. Seems like most folks are really looking forward to this game.
