it does have co-op mode (2p or more p in the same console ) ? are you guys playing like that?thanks.
The effects are really dumbed down compared to PC and those graphics look god awful. It looks more like a game from the first generation xbox. There is no way you can compare this game to the excellent keyboard/mouse control with programmable options on PC. Runing this at 1440p on a monitor and then looking at this is a complete joke. I am glad more people get to play Diablo but they should have started at 1 and 2 on consoles which are far better games than 3 anyway.
Those menus they have on the console version are pretty crap too. There is no way this game should have got more than a 6 on console if this is the actual finished version.
it is not a great game on PC but blind freddy can see this is a crap looking console game.
I don't think there is any real meat in slim jim.
Well after reading some of the comments made by others on here, i'm wondering if they played the same game i have!
I gotta say it a great game, got no probs with the game. been playing solo and coop and its superb, good graphics (360).
Played Diablo on pc and got bored with it, enjoyed alot more on the 360, played 13 hours straight second day i had it, looking forward to playing as the other characters.
So for $60 you get tumble, offline, fewer updates, poor graphics and pay full price for a old game? YEAH!!!
did you see the recent gif ad?
there is a button that reads "hell yeah". that's so bad, i feel sorry for actollezord.
it's not a gif, it's flash. whatever.
You guys - ALWAYS skip the cinematics?!? What's wrong with you?!?!
Too many pc nerds complaining blahblah...lols..this games is better on console than pc try playing it on a 50" smarttv this looks awesome..
@Bahamutx21 it only looks awesome if you have very low expectations of how a game should look . This game at best looks like a PC game from about 2006. That is being generous. it looks ok for a console game but the textures are pretty bad.
Just can't see the point of this release unless it is budget as it is just going to get forgotten next week when GTA V is released. Terrible timing.
Played this this weekend on a friend's ps3. Roll mechanic is completely worthless cause of the short distance it moves you. Still has the horrible cutscenes you need to to confirm to skip every single time. Co-op is slowed down cause every player needs to enter the skill and/or inventory/equip/stash screens separately. Loot drops more often now, but is still boring as hell since it's all still linked to your stats. No splitscreen and good old times couch gaming with friends is about the only positive thing i can say about this. If you played the pc version and found it to be crap, like me, don't be fooled. This is the same game and chances are huge that it'll bore you just as fast
@dkeppens i agree with you for the most part. The only thing even remotely fun about console *assuming you played pc* is the old past time of couch gaming. I will say however it is probably a good game for those who haven't played PC.
Another positive and negative : no auction house, but the targeting mechanic is pretty finicky. Much easier on pc with a mouse and keyboard
kinda looks like a twin stick shooter on the console
some games are not made for consoles hahahahah (with evil voice)
Some games aren't.
However, Diablo 3 is better on console. Couch co-op makes it much funner than playing with losers across the internet.
Sorry, people online can be just plain insufferable.
I hate people.
Problem with the console version is that there is no item integrity and things can be easily duped, already a tool to do it and reports of max paragon players running rampant.
Now i see why they did it, piracy concerns aside, once loot 2.0 hits i'll happily take an always online experience to preserve the integrity of the loot.
AH will no longer be a problem come patch day and the time trying to get an item will give you enough gold to spend on something new ,so your efforts are not unrewarded, swings and roundabouts, just a shame the loot at the moment lacks legendaries.
The monster power mode is great fun, always racing against the clock to get the next elite down to stack that valor, just need that patch now and it will be great, had a good time after giving the game a break for a while, looking forward to the expansion to fix my remaining issues with the game.
the should add a patch the you can use the controller on the pc version and make stand alone warcraft game for console the way the controller on this game is is fantastic
I wanted a Torchlight style game, but with offline co-op so the wife and I could play together. So far we haven't been disappointed and we're absolutely loving it. I'm hopeful Blizzard will consider creating an updated HD anniversary version of Diablo 1 and 2 for the XBL Arcade. I also hope Diablo 3 isn't too short or I'm going to be really angry at paying $60 (someone below said 12 hours).
I'm not hating. I'm actually looking forward to this game and will probably buy it on PS3 or PS4 even.
I just remember playing Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for the PS2 a long time ago.
If I recall correctly, it had much better lighting effects for spells and ambiance. Also, the art direction in the title is bad (I know this is subjective). It looks far too much like World of Warcraft, which isn't terrible attractive.
It's really disappointing considering that this is on PC/PS3/PS4 and the former was a launch title for PS2.
Reminds me of the old days, Diablo I on the PS and Champions of Norath on the PS2...
But the game looks enjoyable.
But doesn't it kind of look a little worse technically/artistically than Dark Alliance for the PS2?
Artistically (I know that it's subjective) Diablo 3 looks like World of Warcraft. I personally don't think that that style is very appealing and I also feel that it's a bad fit for the Diablo series. Admittedly, I haven't really been a big fan of the PC Diablo games, but the art doesn't seem to follow the same logic as the rest.
Also, from a technical perspective, the electric and lighting effects look worse to me for some reason. Did you see the electricity? Compare it to that of the Launch title Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for the PS2. It somehow doesn't seem as impressive despite the leaps in tech.
If I were a hardcore Diablo fan, I probably would have been disappointed by the presentation.
Yeah it doesn't look as great as other current gen. games but visuals vs gameplay has been a challenging balance from my experience of games. I would rather have a higher gameplay value in replay (or in general) because once a game is beaten in a linear fashion, what else could I have done (with friends or an activity) if it was at the price of $60?
Not to mention keeping up with visuals and performance on a PC is costly, which is why I turn to the consoles and hope that the development team will strive for the a greater balance.
But you are right when it comes to appealing to those hardcore fans, they probably won't enjoy the graphics as much but if they stick to the plot, classes, looting, and challenges they should be enjoying themselves. I plan on getting this for the PS3 eventually and have a good time with a few buddies...Unfortunately none of them are females hahah!
Bougth yesterday. CO-OP offline is great! The controls are excelent. This game was really made for consoles.
Is there not going to be an official GS review for the PS3/X360 version?
@anarayan there will be a review coming out.
@Erick @anarayan Yay!!! :)
IA might get it to play with friends. I need a game like this on consoles.
Diablo 3 was $60 I won't get back for a 12 hr meh experience. Won't buy any more online only game or other games without reading reviews first. D3 was just average - about 6.5/10 from me.
@fanirama I could be wrong on this but I read somewhere that the PS3 and X360 versions aren't online-only. You can play without going online with these versions. And I assume the same thing will happen with the PS4 version as well.
@anarayan @fanirama It is as you say in fact: The game can be played fully offline, in local co-op and it features no RMAH.Come to think of it, the situation is funny: Console version is better in that aspect, and PC fanboys are pissed because of that, regardless of the fact that they keep bashing the game day after day.(Man, fanboys are sad)
@Warlord_Irochi @anarayan @fanirama Only thing more sad is someone trolling the gamespot comment section defending their precious...yet here you are talking about fanboys?!
look at all the broken xboxs in the background lmao
Oh look Blizzard crapping on their fanbase, call me when they release loot 2.0, no AH and offline mode, oh wait www.pcgamer.com/2013/09/06/diablo-3-pc-wont-get-offline-play-blizzard-say-co-op-is-the-ideal/?utm_source=tw&utm_medium=emp&utm_campaign=uk
@SteamyPotatoes And why do you think the did that?
@Warlord_Irochi lack of support, or so it seemed, but I'm in two minds about each version now for different reasons.
The spider thing is just incredibly safe because the spiders attack off screen. Your friend probably just does it for hc.
if I ever do decide to get the game I will get it on ps4 since I'll be getting gta5 at launch and most of my time will be spent with that game when it releases in about a week and I got other games to play before then
The game is relax and kill... thousands of mobs and minutes. Seriously it's just a nice game to kick back and bs with some chumbs
Now.... Make this possible on the PC version. I might get back to DIablo 3, if I can lean back with a controller in my hands, playing offline without the AH, and the option to play co-op with some friends.
Yeah, I could just get it for a console.. But then I have to get one first lol
And I have already paid full price once, so I see no reason to do so again :P
will it look/ play better on ps4? or should i just buy it on 360 now?
@MrPoPo11 Graphics are not really that important here. The game does not aim for that. As long as the controls are well addapted I don't think it will make any difference.
@MrPoPo11 I was thinking of waiting too, but than decided to get it on 360 and it is good. Enjoyed it so far except first hour till I got used to the controllers and the game play. last time i played Diablo was first one way back.
I cruised through the PC version, was disappointed. Wished I had waited for the console port. It is so much more engaging then the point and click "adventure" on PC.
A few things could have been polished more, but the most important part, gameplay, is solid.
