Wow you can tell this was made by bungie (now Activision) it looks the same as halo. The game still looks good and I will keep my eyes on this one for sure.
I'll be interested to see more You can feel some influence from other games but that's not always a bad thing.
Dont these look like the shitty characters that you hate to look back on when Destiny 2 comes out? Haha
My friend got hired at bungie when 38 studios collapsed. He's an environment artist and says the world has a great atmosphere to it. Hope he's right
Remember back when games had sense of mystery and suspense that ramps up the anticipation for its release. Nowadays we get game development clips, shots, showcase and trailers every once a month....spoiling all the surprises.
This is looking great, its a shame thought that disapointing game releases have taught me not get my hopes up anymore, when its out, we'll see...
Looking at the pic/still before clicking, I almost thought this was about Splinter Cell...before I looked more closely. Nice, Bungie.
Aaaaaah now there is that sound that Halo 4 was missing. Great work Marty.
Anyone else notice that the crown head copper robot moves exactly like an elite? Sorry I just can't help but look for Halo similarities I mean, it's Bungie.
Also the Thark-ish kind of guy, I couldn’t help notice and love, by the way, that they at least for his head...his unmasked concept design anyway looks to be inspired by a scrapped piece of concept art for the Elites (check out the Halo art book and you’ll see)
Definitely looks cool and that music just sounds so halo like , I hope its Marty doing another awesome job with an epic soundtrack that will get stuck in your head for years.
This game has some serious identity issues. When people talk about Halo, they think about the solider is the green helm but from what Destiny has shown so far, I have no idea of what to associate the game with. It needs a mascot not just a just a giant white ball. If I showed people |Destiny and called Planetside 2, they'll be easily convinced.
From the looks, a lot of guys that pretend to be girls on video games will be disappointed. I could be wrong tho.
It seems like I will be totally getting this game at launch, along with all a shitload of other titles. Already saved up more than enough.
I see a brute, an elite, a hunter, and something approaching a locust grenadier. Still looks like it could be something good.
and this supposed to be on 360? add a nice aliasing, juicy 540p and bs textures and we got the 360's version, this is NOT.
If this were anymore of a tease it'd be wearing a halter top staring at you from across the room with a drink in it's hand. Still looks good though, nothing like the anticipation before a great game.
As a fan of Halo who has played a good share of MMOs like world of warcraft and guild wars, I can see quite clearly where this is going. It's going to be huge, probably enough content here to give this gen extra 5 years of lifetime.
@playniko69 Correction, it spoils a decent amount of surprises. There is still stuff that's usually kept under wraps, but a large amount is displayed through said stuff. Either way, I think it only increases anticipation rather than decrease it. And there's a ton of gamers out there who don't want to be too surprised when a game comes out, because depending on what the surprise is, it might just make or break the game or franchise altogether. Through this way, the developers can change the game to as much as the fans feel like having it without detracting from their goals for the game.
@GOGOGOGURT No, no it's not really very original at all, all of the designs are following a typical sci fi theme and don't really show anything unique if you compare them to the concept art of other sci fi (shooter) projects.
Although it does have a great art style, it still has the exact same style as many other projects, from the generic masks to the location of shoulder pieces and the anatomical proportions, etc.
@MrJ_and_SKX I lol'd
very tricky question at the conference in new york bungie came out and introduced this game offically to be coming out for the ps4 and nodded it also will be for the ps3 as well but since they signed a ten year agreement with activision it could go over to microsofts platform as well so who knows until word hits from microsofts side.
@hoplayletsplay some games dont really need a mascot. for one its not a complete single player experience, so there isnt going to be a master chief or someone with a name or face. You make your own character the way you want and be the hero you want to be. With a game like this, which is easily compared to a mmo, YOU are the hero/mascot, sharing experiences with the rest of the players inhabiting the world. The draw of the game is the setting, environments, classes, gameplay, ect. that make you want to be in that world. If that doesnt whet your appetite just call it a Halo mmo with magic.
@feleas That looked like CGI to you?
@shenron43 Yeah, I 'm still partial excited for this, but I still don't see much creativity in the alien designs. I mean just look at Half-Life 1, that had some pretty unique aliens.
@NTM23 Two big problems with game advertising these days.
1. Revealing too much in trailers and showcases ruins the fun and surprise.
2. No emphasis on a particular subject or mascot in the game for us to anticipate. (Ex: Master Chief in Halo, Sam Fisher in Splinter Cell, Laura from Tomb Raider, Niko Bellic from GTA4) I can't seem to find particular mascot in Destiny besides that big white ball. The characters introduced in this trailer shows zero significance.
@rad2071 I can agree with what you say if that's the direction Bungie's taking but then Destiny will become a big disappointing for me. Guess what I am trying to say is, I don't need better game, I need a different game.
@Deadly_Nemesis @feleas Computer Graphic Imaging. In-game graphics and videos are all the same thing, just different component. my question was was that those in-game graphics, if you want to be so specific, is PS4 graphics or current gen graphics? is this more clear for you now?
PS: you're also one of those people who think the word, "graphics" is only associated with electronic art and games.
