Demo - The Dark Eye: Demonicon
Take a look at The Dark Eye: Demonicon demo from GDC 2013.
definitiely not like the Drakensang games but still looks pretty cool. anybody gotten a copy of the beta or alpha versions outside of industry?
I like these game developers already, the teaser showed no gameplay, people complained, and they showed gameplay. These guys should be setting the standard, giving gamers what they want.
released March this year okay then good this game is still happening.
*after watching demo* ....shit..
Please god let the actual game look better than this ...
pirates, hmm idk I personaly like the old school settings such as rome and what not, should of token it to the japan V Mongolian days! DAM mongolias! trying to assassinate ghangis khan would of been sweet
I can see the potential here and since this is just an Alpha build I'm eager to see how it'll turn out but if by beta build the game hasn't changed, pretty sure I'll pass.
Wait... this isn't a strategy game it's a "Brawler" What d'FUQ... And what the hell is with the sword trails? TRON anyone? Seriously one of the animations looks hella slower than the other one on top of that. This game is horrible already.... No thanks I'll wait out the new Planescape and the new Ultima game.
Judging from that video combat and character animation defiantly don't seem to be the game's strong points, but since there are not enough rpg franchises these days (especially fantasy) I'll be compelled to make the purchase.
This game has been in development for 4+ years, they completely changed the perspective and combat in the last 2 years, I'm not super excited about it, but I will be buying it eventually. On another, more interesting note, the same company is developing/publishing a game named DARK that has some similarities to Masquerade Bloodlines.
Game looks very similar like Game of Thrones RPG which I enjoyed. Only combat is changed.
I hope the story in this game is good so I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
......and this is why games so behind in developement (i hope) shouldn't be showed.
In this demo i could see some interesting ideas, but at the moment the execution of those ideas seems quite bad (and i'm being generous).
Anyway since i generally love rpgs i'll keep an eye on this title.
....unfortunately the main character doesn't appeal to me very much (and since they never mentioned i suppose the player won't be able to create his/her own character, right?).
Final note: The dark Eye is NOT bigger than D&D in Europe, that's an HUGE BS,lol.
What's this with "The dark eye is bigger than D&D in Europe"??? Things must have changed durng the last 15 years...
the 2 Drakensang games are awesome and hopefully this one keeps it up. really disappointed that it's comin on consoles though, USUALLY means way lower quality.
I like the overall vibe of the game. Seems like it has some dark fantasy going on. If this has a really good story i think it might be worth it. Sure, the character animations are lackluster but thats a minor complaint if the story and the gameplay itself is good.
this is still an alpha version... so I believe they'll polish up a lot of things before release in october... they better do it... otherwise it'll be just another RPG with a lot of things gone wrong!
but it looks interesting so far
Non-combat movements are awkward. Facial expressions are awkward. Two grown men on a dark cave... awkward.
@MalakTawus Yeah, I have to say, you'd think they'd at least make 15 minutes of the game presentable for previews like this, but it all looks awful. Lip synching is way off, animations are terrible in general, and the combat looks sluggish and weak.
Which is a real shame, because the WRPG genre could use some more confident forays into unknown territory, especially as Bioware is kind of going insane lately. At least we have Witcher 3 and Project Eternity to look forward to, right?
@ivanmallia Hahaha, that's awesome! Can't watch anymore of the video now dude, haha!
@Gallowhand boring boring vid
@BSEE10 The interface/UI looks like something from the 90s. Not very sleek at all. Also, running animations looked about as awkward as it does in Risen 2.
