Yes it was gamester73, the coop should be Ellie and Isaac. And hopefully Isaac makes Ellie an honest lady.
"no ai-follower in single-player"
"no competitive multiplayer"
"ds3 is all about answer(ing questions from previous games)"
to sum up for everyone who doesn't wanna watch the video ;)
@istuffedsunny - dead space is ALL about horror dude. To say otherwise is entirely naive or ridiculously closed-minded. Just because a horror game has co-op in it doesn't nullify it as being horror. Some horror games w/ co-op may be less scary or less scary at times than those played alone but survival-horror games are about more than just being scared.
When i watched the announcement trailer, it seemed like it would have offline co-op, but now hearing that it won't, def. heart-breaking.
Still following in RE's footsteps, I see. Crapcom does co-up, now they do. Also neither game is horror but they keep promoting it as such.
that sequence at the end was very reminiscent of old dead space, so i'm sold. i still haven't beaten the first game, got too scared and haven't picked it up since XD
they're obviously gonna show newer aspects of gameplay than any of the old stuff that you've played before. otherwise all you whiners would be talking about how it looks the same as the old ones. get over it and come to terms with the fact that you're gonna buy this game anyway. all of you complain about EA but you still buy their games in the end we lose no matter how much we whine on the internet
I am glad he confirmed that the game can be played in single player without Carver and in co-op with reanimated scenes in co-op. *phew!*I was gonna abandon the franchise because of the co-op tbh.
Why the hell do they have crosshairs? One of the best parts of this series was that there was no HUD overlay, now they've gone and added in a crosshair???
i love dead space as a series.for all you complainers out there every horror game out there is a shooter.as for the scares well it saddens me to say most don`t know what it is anymore.whats scary to me in the game is going up against strange non human enemies.that are trying to kill me.
Mates, is it just me, or is Isaac's voice different, I checked around the net for info if it was the same voice actor, but I didn't find any info. Gunner Wright's IMDb doesn't have Dead Space 3 on his resume...and I do believe, from what I saw on the E3 demo and trailer from the conference that Isaac doesn't sound exactly the same...or maybe it's just me not remembering how he sounds, guess I'll be replaying Dead Space 2 :D
1st game was Event Horizon, 2nd was Aliens, 3rd is the Thing........no it's not a bad thing because those are my 3 favorite horrors but mixed in one with Dead Space ^_^
And my EA boycott continues.
Sooner or later, that cancer of a 'company' (congrats on the Worst Company in America award, by the way) will have to fall; they can only survive pissing off their customers so long before it eventually bites them in the ass.
Yuck. Why would they do this? First two didn't sell well enough? I might just pass on this game based on principle alone.
Even better news that there won't be a PvP aspect!
This looks to be shaping up to be Dead Space just fine. Cannot wait!
did any one actuall watch the demo? yes there's some new stuff that may dissapoint ( I Myself dont like the action intensity and rolling aroung and cover) but you have the choice do go it alone.... im afraid too but i love dead space and i feel like i owe it to the series and myself to hope for the best...
Oh EA., you've done it again... *facepalm* "you're now one step closer for hitting bottom." It's official now, that the game that brought the survival horror genre back into its top greatness, after a stale period, is dead. EA is doing brilliantly(sarcasm) this past times in f*****g everything up, full on S.N.A.F.U. The game now seems to be reduced now to a cut/copy generic 3rd person shooter in space... Well, let's just hope that The Last Of Us saves the survival horror genre from brainless co-p mash up action with extreme violence.
I actually have an empty feeling inside the pit of my stomach. The second I saw the title "Dead Space 3" I was filled with excitement. I LLLLLOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Dead Space 1 and 2, and I was almost sure I was going to buy Dead Space 3 if they ever made one. This footage is absolutely nothing like the other two games. It has completely gone from the suspensful sci-fi game it was before to a shooter set in space.
The game wasn't straight out horror, but kept you jumpy the entire time because you were alone (excluding the masses of necromorphs looking to rip you apart limb from limb) which made the few encounters with other people that much more special. Now, your not only with another person, there are AI present at times too. And where the hell did the Plasma Cutter and the Line Gun go. This is just like a 3rd person shooter, filling enemies with enough shots until they drop. I'm very disappointed. :(
I'm surprised at myself that I might not pick this one up. Guess I'll just have to go back to the classics and replay Dead Space 1 and 2 again. (God I hope that between now and the release date they revert back to the original formula that worked wonders on the first two games. But I know that that's probably not going to happen...)
I'm a HUGE Dead Space fan. I've purchased at least 3 copies of Dead Space 1 digital and physical, and for a friend. Purchased Dead Space 2, digital, and collector's edition. I have the movies. I have the life-size plasma cutter from Machine artists. I just purchased a Polystone Statue of Isaac Clarke in original engineer suite by Sideshow Collectibles.
I'm not bragging, just proving one hell of a point that I'm one of the biggest fans out there, and here, I'm left jaw-dropped. Not in excitement or awe... in pure disappointment. It's the first time I have considered not buying a Dead Space product until it's dirt cheap. I could see the co-op community dwindling down fast, which is a good thing, because this game should have been a single-player campaign game only. Visceral games should have worked on making this game MORE survival-horror.
@ShockSplicerThey also merged all the ammo types into a "universal ammo", because hey .. it's too complicated to manage 3 weapons with different ammo to each.
Might as well just add a "press X to autoplay the game" feature, because why not.
This is yet another news which confirms that absolutely everything EA touches turns into shit.
Dead Space 1 was actually a very good game and sequels had potential, too bad they sold out to EA.
@ShockSplicer The default setting in DS2 was crosshairs as well, they just looked like the laser sights. But there was an option to use the original aiming system as well, so hopefully that will also be the case for DS3.
@ShockSplicer There are a lot of things about this game that look different. I'm disappointed to say the least.
@resident_jisen Well your first statement is just flat out not true. Not every horror game is a shooter.
@Swoopalz and I just looked at your profile and you give to EA games that has been about about a year a 10
@Swoopalz actually the Worst Company in America is activision
@Snapple1994 Yes, people have played the demo, and the last article I read form somone who had was about how Dead Space is "Just another dudebro shooter" and he opened with the comment "Who put all this Gears of War in my Dead Space??"
The series has been sh*t down the drain
@megadeth1117 Acting like a shallow push-over doesn't make you look mature, just sayin'. Specially in this day and age of sh*tty gaming/gamers. Speaking of which...
@OneShot45 I don't think you payed enough attention to the demo good sir. They said in the demo that they purposely wanted to showcase the new stuff, and that all the old stuff (most likely meaning the plasma cutter) was still in the game. Even then, the whole co-op thing is entirely optional, and they won't saddle you down with an AI teammate (Carver). However, I don't think that applies to the other friendly AI you were talking about, and I honestly am not ecstatic about the whole shootout stuff they're adding in. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Well i`m basing this on games that use guns or ranged weapons of some kind.even dead island is a shooter since it has guns in it even though they were rare in it.
@shadowhunter0 I'm not sure what the point of your comment is.
EA is a blight, roping in creative indie (and established) developers with the promise of increased funding, only to hover over their shoulders and dictate design decisions. EA pressures devs to release bigger titles more and more frequently, because they think that every game should be a FIFA and that there's no 'real' difference between a story/character-driven narrative like Dead Space or Mass Effect and a yearly released cash-cow like Madden; and the franchises suffer for it.
I gave those games a 10 to try and offset the trolls giving 1's (...lol, actually come to think of it, that's pretty much the only reason I ever rate anything on the internet). I haven't bought an EA game new or redeemed an online pass (besides ME3's... that was dumb to do in hindsight :/) in a couple years, if not more. Hence boycott. And check your facts: EA won the Consumerist's Worst Company in America award, not Activision.
Well I'd like to keep my hopes up, maybe it wont be too bad, thanks tho and yea i did see the Gow influence... uugh well i still love the first one and I may as well play it over (it still scares me hah)
@shooters125 Yeah I caught that. But I don't think that, based on this footage that it'll bring the same feel that the previous games had.
He did say "We're just showing the new stuff, but we still have everything they loved before." So, I'm with you. Hoping for the best. :)
