I just finished it and loved it. A great mix of Lost Planet, Gears of War and all the things I loved about the original Dead Space.
I don't usually like to judge games from their trail, but...
Holy hell. You really let go, Dead Space.
Yeah, fun and all, but with much sorrow...goodbye Dead Space, and welcome yet-another-FPS.
They said Dead Space I didn't sell very well, the apparent excuse was lack of replayability; so they added multiplayer to DS2. Apparently that didn't work as well as EA's ambitions were concerned, so now they aren't just experimenting with only coop (which would've been awesome in the ORIGINAL Dead Space...having company through that mystery and horror, and permanent cooperative female company with good storytelling and character development would've been a great selling point if any decision makers are listening), but they're also putting the survival horror part to rest in peace, and changing the very genre of the game. So yeah, RIP Dead Space...and let's shoot some more, I guess.
I have to say that as a horror franchise, dead space sucks. But as a third-person shooter, it's very solid.
I love how everyone's bitching that Dead Space is now no longer "horror" anymore. Visceral has clearly stated that the footage introduced at E3 is just new stuff they wanted to show off, and that everything that made series scary to begin with is still going to be there.
As for the co-op, it's not required, and it's not going to be like Resident Evil 5 with an A.I. partner following you.
Last, there have been human enemies in every Dead Space game, you just never fought them directly until now.
I think what EA is doing with Dead Space is cool, despite moving away from the original plans for the complete horror genr,e it is really giving the game a new edge to its story line. Although DS3 needs to scream horror franchise, the way the story has progressed from DS1 does make sense in the way the characters and the gameplay has had to change. Think about it, DS1 Isaac was the silent progtagonist in some really messed up crap that he had no intention of being, which mentally scarred him. In DS2 Isaac is much more nimble and capable at taking down Necromorphs, however, he was still haunted by his mental scarring from DS1. In DS3 it looks like Isaac is well on top of it, he has a team, a goal, and he knows how to get it done, he's gone through hell twice and there is no doubt Isaac is an extremely smart engineer, it only makes sense he learns from his mistakes and isn't as succeptible to getting taken off guard as he was in DS1. Same sh!t, different day.
wow this is the first trailer which is probably only trying to establish the story and everyone is already crying. Unbelievable. Did any of you ever think maybe EA is saving the scares for the game since the development of the story is more important than scares
Alright...I played both of Dead Space and DS 2 and must say that Dead Space 1 was a way better game than the second part. But with this 3rd part. I don't know if it's a good thing or not, to change the game almost entirely.
It looks like a mix of Call Of Duty(with those adrenaline scenes and button action crap) and Gears Of War.
It looks like it totally lost the horror part, and became 3rd person shooter, as I said exactly like GOW.
Now, the good part is, that this game could be fun if they implement co-op split-screen campaign into it. Because that would be just awesome.
Downpart of it is that nothing would be scary. I mean, comparing the scenes from DS 1 where you roam through powerless, dark infected ship, all by yourself, and this shootout is just sad.
What the hell? This doesn't even look scary! Also, why has the swearing increased? Good job EA. This Dead Space looks like rubbish.
Doth mine eyes deceive me? Or has Elle’s bust grown since the last game? Not that I'm complaining...
So dead space will be just another sci-fi and co-op mindless shooter. It means the death of yet another great horror franchise.
I think everyone is forgetting that Dead Space has always been a Sci-Fi game first, horror game second. The first two games put more focus on the horror while this one seems to be focusing on the "Lost in Space", or Science Fiction aspect. As a Sci-Fi freak I can't complain about that. I'm sure there will be enough scares for the horror freaks.
Another great series ruined by action gameplay, where are the scares we loved from the original Dead Space...its sad to see this IP go down the drain with this bullcrap.
Does anyone @ EA research posts by DS fans? No one wants another action game!! This series dominated its genre (although there isn't exactly a lot of competition). I hope EA files for bankruptcy.
Why is EVERYONE Complaning about the Co-op ???.......if u want to play Alone then just Play Alone....no A.I will be following you.........and then maybe after u beat the game the first time u can play it again and beat it with your Friend the second time....whats wrong with that ??????
I’m not complaining or anything like it, but i have to take this out of my bloody chest! I’ve loved DS since the get go, sadly i’m not loving the direction Visceral is going with this, not because of the co-op, not for the daylight settings and not even for the Lost in Space type of story, but what i really don’t like is that they are going toward an action pased game instead of the survival horror sci-fi game we all know and love for so long! I just wanna beg Visceral please, dont screw the only horror game that has saved the genre in its entirety. Instead of a horror game u guys will make DS into an error game that will not even see the light of the sun!
If you have the option to not have a co-op person with you then I don't see why you guys are complaining.
Watch the stage demo. They clearly explain that you have the option to play it on your own and you don't have friendly AI controlling Carver. In my opinion it's not a bad thing. Finish it once alone than try it out with a friend. I bet it will be a whole different experience. Can hardly wait for this one :D New PC, here i come. :D
so excited about another dead space... but PLEASE EA do not make this another RE5 game...
like the co-op idea (that is co-op right?) maybe I can get one of my friend to actually finish dead space ( ) but oh god, please oh god, do not damage the ONLY good horror game left
Dead Space 3's presentation is definitely one to watch out for. Visceral has always surprised and satisfied us. This game will definitely be an incredible one.
I think that's not Ellie, but the girl from part 2, only without her eye fucked up @L3X18999
@ashyblood I'm not saying it's gonna be a bad game but for me this is one of the few survival horror series that i love and i don't like the idea that they change it like resident evil. I haven't seen much of the game yet and and maybe i'm wrong, but it looks like it's not going to be like 1 or 2
@T_REX305 even if that co-op buddy is controlled by AI , the horror is ruined . the secret behind survival-horror genre is being alone .
that IS Ellie, and Ellie IS the girl from ds2. not only the same appearance but also very obviously the same voice.
i wonder if we see Lexine again though (she was in extraction and severed)
@20years I believe they said that if you're going to be playing solo, there won't be an AI following you around, you'll be alone. But you may still have a good reason to be worried though, EA is not to be taken lightly when it comes to sequels.
