Darksiders II Interview: Evolving the Series
Game director Marvin Donald talks about the role of Death, the creative process of the original Darksiders, and the new world of Darksiders II.
This a great game and very excited to play this But we u release this game can u please fix the Screen tearing in the please is not that bad but it could be better
This guy is genuinely passionate about DS and its sequel, but he looks so sad and tired and the music is so depressing. Why?
darksiders 1 sucked big time..& i'm sure darksider 2 will do the same.. i don't know for what reason people loved this game..this game sucks
Looks really great , death seems to be promising ( not the other one ) boss sucked last time just hit and hit ( a vampire with b*** ) >: }
first of all: wats with the sad music? second: all he had to say was this is going to be a better game third: THIS BETTER NOT HAVE ME DOING THE SAME COMBO THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE DAMN GAME..............plz
Liking it and all, but I am not really digging Death's costume and mask. Don't really know about the purple...
@Rizion89 Wow Dude... u have some issues o.O Someone should definitely slap u back on earth xD Love Darksiders & cant wait for this one =) Good Job on the interview !
Not so excited about the design for Death. Looks like Soul Reaver's Raziel with muscles or something out of Brutal Legend.
@snaptrap.. yeppers @ the Kasey comment. he reminded me of a mix between TMNTs Kasey and Raziel from Soul Rever
I never cared for the first game. The story was the generic apocalypse rubbish with stereotypical characters. Death in this game looks like Kasey from TMNT. I'd like to see a fresh take on these types of stories instead of the same, same, same.
Now this is what I love with Vigil, even when it is new studio they dont rush the game out. The first DS was awesome, even if it was not what they wanted but they still polished the game into a great action game and even pushed the publish date because the game was not ready. That takes guts and more developers should do this. Its great that they dont have a date set in stone on this one, they can again polish it and make it as good as they can, even though I would love to get to play the game asap :D Cannot wait for this one, looks awesome and fun! Lets hope the quality stays as high as it did on the first one :) Also is Joe Mad still working with Vigil or has he moved back to comics?
I loved the first game so much! Thank god it's coming to the PC 'cause I just sold my xbox! =P Can't wait!
In my opinion, Darksiders 1 was so underrated. One of the best games of 2010. Can't wait to get my hands on this one.
Can't wait......The first one was a surprise hit. If they are building more RPG elements into the game I hope it doesn't slow the pace that DS1 had and lend it self well to a better game experience.
@sknight175216, Indeed, that was some intense use of em & erm. But "er, erm" games looking quite decent though.
I thought Darksiders would be awful. Turned out to be a great game when I actually played it. Eagerly awaiting the sequel!
I didn't pick up the 1st one but will keep an eye out for this one. I wish these guys had a little more excitement when they talked about a game that probably sucked the life out of them for years to develop. Why not be excited about something you put your heart and soul into.....save the calm chatter for written articles. Show the people how much you love your game and they will love it too. Pitchford from GearBox was so crazy for Boderlands that it made me crazy for it.
I can't say I won't get the game but damn am I disappointed that they aren't continuing the story of the first, the ending seemed to set up a sequel perfectly. I'm still pissed.
I was interested in what he had to say, but was a little preoccupied with how many times this guy said "umm" and "uhhh"
Darksiders was actually my first game when I bought my PS3, I never regretted my choice I had lots of fun with it and darksiders 2 if they actually include more rpg elements is gonna kick big ass.
@Rizion89 Calm the hell down. Just because you (apparently) fell in love with the first game doesn't mean the creative team was satisfied with the final product. He said (a few times) that they didn't have the resources then that they do now, and couldn't make the first game EXACTLY as they wanted it. He wasn't trashing it, he's just saying they have the capability to make the sequel EXACTLY how they want it. Also, he wasn't 'pitching' the game, this was obviously taken from an interview. Put your pants back on and relax.
Darksiders was one of my favourite games of '10, so damn cheesed i actually traded it for Lost Planet2 (which was downright terrible). It may have had its shortcomings but it was fun as hell, sorely disappointed that the sequel isn't 4-player co-op like the cliffhanger ending would lead anyone to believe. What can you do? anyway, this is definitely up there with my most anticipated releases for next year
