Kevin VarOrd goes over the differences between Dark Souls II on Console and PC, besides the resolution and frame rate.
Did you enjoy this video?
My advice to From Soft: stand aside and let CD Projekt show you how it's done.
hoping this is just a bad video stream. the graphics don't even look as good as the Prepare Top Die version from what i've seen.
why are they hyping the fact that it looks "exactly like the console version", like it's a good thing?
Seems we should wait to another DSFix in Dks II for PC, because at least in my case, I'm not waiting for now any kind of miracles with the port to PC.
Stop touching me, Elmo!
"almost a month later"? get your math straight Danny
Does anyone else think it's a bit sad we have to look to the mod community to bring this up to current PC standards? I had hoped the developers would take the PC version more seriously this time. Once you get used to better graphics it's hard to accept such a straight port of a PS3/Xbox 360 game. Graphics aren't everything, but they do matter - especially when most other PC versions get better treatment.
i want my videocard to sing coilwhines to me while playing this ):Please bust the crap out of the effects for the pc version.
It's sad that we must rely on some 8th grader to create a mod to allow 1st person view option for games like Dark Souls 2 and The Witcher 2 and 3. Give the people what they want. Options.
@up2zero 1st person view in DS2? Are you high? Do you want it in Gears of War as well and maybe even God of War?
@shadow580 @up2zero Nope. Just like thousands of others adults, I like 1st person view. That's why there is a 1st person view mod for the first one. It's more challenging too. What do you care if others have that option?
@shadow580 @up2zero I understand your point and they are good but I think you underrate the % of people wanting 1st person view and as a coder I can tell you it isn't that difficult to implement. The map and graphics are already there. That was my original point, it's silly that an 8th grader has to create a mod to create this option when one of their developers could create this option in half a day that is polished.
Anyway, I will get the game and enjoy it but will use the 1st person mod that will be out shortly after the game come to PC. Same goes with The Witcher 3 that outright says they will be The Elder Scrolls competitor with a map 30% bigger than Skyrim's.
@up2zero @shadow580 I like having options but they cost money to implement. I looked at the 1st person view mod and it was kinda what I expected. It's unfinished. From Software would have to devote time into making sure it looks, feels and works like the rest of the game. I really don't think that the game is intended to be played like this as you are severely hindering your vision of your surroundings. Your movesets are much more complex and finely tuned than those in for example Skyrim. Of course, it's up to you how you wish to play the game but dumping a lot of half finished features into a game just isn't a good idea. It's pretty much the reason developers allow mod support, so that every niche feature may be added without draining their bank.
Dark Souls sold over a million copies. They can't take add a feature that realistically only a small percentage would use (it would take more than 10 thousand people just to get 1%). I wouldn't mind seeing it done properly as I think more people would be inclined to play it but it would require a lot of work to be done. Remember, Dark Souls 1 and 2 both had small budgets and a small team compared to larger AAA titles out there.
