I like the art direction, it is based off a comic book...Will wait and see how it turns out. Looking forward to it.
It's not the graphics that bother me,but the art direction. The first Darkness was dark, and gritty, this one looks like a mix between Brink and Borderlands with it's comic-like visuals and bright colours.
Jackie Estacado and the darklings with better graphics !!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO i can't ****ing wait to play it.
love FPS! They are so real. Who doesn´t carry around one gun in the right hand and a katana in the left one, while raising both hands forward like you were an old-fashioned zombie? (nowadays´ don´t raise arms... or maybe just one)
It looks alright, but I'm tired of rushed multiplayer. The Darkness is a great example of a game that doesn't need multiplayer to be fun. I'm fine with a new story with your friends, but I couldn't stand a competitive multiplayer mode, that would just be unbearable under this kind of game.
@Kusann This is a video preview, all we can make judgement based on visuals. I cant tell how good the game play is based off this. I love how gamers use gameplay as a excuse to have poor graphics, you know there are ways to have good gameplay and good graphics. Just because 1 is good doesnt mean the other has to be crap. But ya as i said earlier, Graphics is all we have to go on with a preview video so live with it.
imma be honest... i loved the first game but the MP in this looks horrible. I'll probably rent it then buy it once it drops to 20 or less.
seriously, they have to put angelblade, angelous, etc in it.......They gotta follow the comics man....but the gameplay was and is great...
Loved the first game and got to play this at PAX Prime in seattle and was blown away by the demo good job on Digital Extremes taking oner the helm from Star Breeze studios.
I absolutely LOVE how people bash this preview because of "dated graphics", "repetitive" and such crap. I bet they love playing Halo which has...dated graphics and it's been basically the same game since 2001's Halo: Combat Evolved. Or maybe you'll come out with CoD, Gears of War or God of War which are...the same game since you finished the first one. While I hate this stream of "let's put in some forced multiplayer mode" because it makes developers leave the single-player experience unpolished due to disk-space, forcing them to create DLC to complete the story instead of adding it in the disk in first place, making us pay more than the retail price; this actually looks fun, dated graphics? Meh, I have a lot more fun playing No One Live Forever 2 than any of your mainstream current FPS with "OMGBBW AWESOME GRAPHS!!!!" name CoD, Battlefield, Halo and such. And obviously NOLF2 has older, older, reaaaally old graphics. Gamers who care about graphics instead of gameplay shouldn't be called gamers and should better go watch a movie. I'd rather have a fun gameplay experience with "dated" graphics than a boring 2-hour campaign with realistic graphics. Seriously.
The Darkness 2, such an Inspired title... I played the first, It was OK but there are some quality looking titles out early next year so to get my money this will have to be satisfactory In terms of story, campaign and controls. I can't get too excited over a video that looks like a LFD formula with Borderlands visuals alone.
@s_h_a_d_o That is, in fact, the real name of the skill, and I agree there's not nearly enough kung fu involved to justify the title.
Seems pretty cool. Each character looks like they could have walked straight out of the comic series.
@Maxwell Around 3:06 you mention upgrading to the "gun kata" skill - is it actually called that? Doesn't sound much like it's original namesake... (now would be cool)!
I'm more interested in Jacky's humanity and his mental state than "stand up/start war with secert evil society" which while always creates intrigue in the begining, gets old fast. Looks like you start the whole murder by numbers right away rather than investigate *sigh* (Shoshanna's teeth are HUGE)
looks great...I'm definately gonna have fun with this. For some reason it reminds me of Blood 2 The Chosen.
