Amazed they are still mum on the PC release date. The previous commitment toward releasing it "weeks" after platforms seems increasingly unlikely given we're a couple weeks out and there is nothing official announced.
I really like this trailer. While I think the narrator's voice is too commercial and modern, the script, to me, is able to convey an accurate description of how this game is about persevering through challenges, and celebrating the success of overcoming those challenges.
Dark Souls players always praise this game's ability to reward the player with a powerful sense of accomplishment, and I think this trailer is From's way of saying, we know players went through some hard times in this series, but by being determined, they overcame everything we threw at them, and we're allowing them to do it again in this sequel.
As someone who beat the first game, the meaning behind this trailer really resonates with me and makes me happy. I also like how this trailer tells new players, or maybe players who were turned off by the first game, how one should approach this game if they are interested in picking it up. It is a game that challenges the player in order to reward determination. So, just by smart marketing the game is more accessible.
I like it.
That voice narrator was haunting, hauntingly s.h.i.t
only 24 people listening and maybe 5 of will get through the whole game i count myself as one so only 4 others good luck, can wait to play a real game like back in the day when games were hard
LOL at people calling the trailer bad. I'm guessing your idea of a good trailer is non-coherent death metal with the hero steamrolling over monsters -- the latter of which completely goes against Dark Soul's gaming philosophy.
Lousy trailer and the narrator was horrid... that said, this game is still going to kick major ass!!
Is there a reason that the Dark Souls franchise gets the absolute worst trailers?
I mean who thinks some of this is a good idea?
The games are amazing but jesus, the trailers always have bad songs that go against the game and mood.
I love Dark Souls but that trailer was garbage. Half the footage was from DSI and it totally does not capture the tone of the game. I've seen fan-made trailers that were 10x better.
dammit dark souls. this game looks great but I know without doubt less than an hour in im gonna be smashing my controller off my coffee table.
Only 19 days! :)
@RoachRush Just because some people may not be impressed by the trailer, it does not automatically mean anyone is slagging the game itself. I don't like this particular trailer but that does not mean that I'm not dying to play the game, which I have no doubt is going to be excellent.
Additionally, unless I've not payed close enough attention, it seems as though the trailers and teasers for DS II focus primarily on warrior builds... where's any player character magic wielding or archery in any trailers? Just a minor gripe about the trailers, and not the game itself.
@Crazyguy105 I actually really liked the two prior to this - especially the GS one. This, on the other hand, was tonally bankrupt.
@translucent17 ahahahahaha i cracked a controller right down the middle because of dk1 i must admit i was drunk at the time and the controller was the one my 360 came with and had some personality quirks that bugged me so it was no great lost
@suppaphly42 I have a dent in my coffee table from dark souls no lie.
